Then, it started to get sort of scratched and faded looking, so I washed it- per the directions. The red lining bled so badly that it looks like a pink and grey bag. I've tried vinegar, dish detergent, oxyclean, shout colorfast sheets- to no avail. Do yourself a favor and save your $25. I purchased expensive VIP tickets to avoid the lines to get to the top. But there were no lines because there were no people. They offered us a voucher good for one year to return on another date, but I live 3,000 miles away and had no plans to return so what good is that. So, we went up anyway. They offered a coupon for 20% off vastly overpriced drinks. Whoop-whoop! Not even a free drink!!! They closed the restaurant too so only junk food at the service bar. At the very least, they could have offered an "open, transferrable voucher" for another time. I cannot recommend this venue for the lack of management's poor customer consideration. I'm not blaming them for the weather, I'm just disturbed that I felt they couldn't care less about our disappointment.

Located on the Upper East Side on 105 and Fifth. It's 5 blocks from my doctors office and since I was so close, I just had to stop by. There are only 4 floors and you can see everything in just over an hour. Start in Timescapes where you can watch a movie narrated by Stanley Tucci, all about the history of New York City. When you're done with this you can venture around the floors. One floor is is dedicated to the "New York at Its Core" exhibition which is a timeline of the city from 1609 to the present. Its unique and shows how the city has evolved and is still changing. With over 75,000 objects there's a little something here for everyone. Vintage fashion from some of New York most famous designers, a basketball exhibit showing the culture of street ball, great photography, and even trumpets from Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong from the Jazz era. If you're looking for something a little different and very interesting, I highly recommend this. They also told me there's Free admission for everyone on Wednesdays.

The museum is pay-what-you-wish for all New York residents, which is very nice! The main exhibit is about the history of New York City between the early 1600s and the present day. There is a mix of informational panels, artifacts, maps, and brief biographies of notable residents. There were about three special exhibits on display when I visited. The most interesting (in my opinion) of these was the history of protests and social movements in the city. It's worth a trip if you haven't been. I think both a tourist and local could appreciate this museum.

There are only three feet across with some stalls while other vendors have a lot of space. The winter hat, cool decor, jewelry are always the top of the shopping list. Check the opening time which is at 11 am on some days and not all stalls are open immediately at 11 am but most of them are. There are always food items too but those areas can get very crowded. I recommend going earlier in December when there is good selection left. The service and welcome of the staff was really good this year. The value and price point is solid with many different type of high and low end items available. Bryant Park may have a little more space for shopping but Union square sometimes has different vendors. The urban spaces organizers do a good job across the space. Enjoy the holiday shopping. One commentary on 2025 visit because we go every year, I saw fewer people in some stalls. I am not sure if there is an economic impact for some people or that there are less international or domestic tourists but there may be some impacts. I remember that it has been more packed in the past since I was there on Black Friday which is normally the peak shopping time.

Union Square Holiday Market is one of my favorite places to wander through…read more If I had to choose between Bryant Park and Union Square, I'd pick Union Square every time. The Holiday Market here has more booths, a wider variety of small local vendors, and the layout feels more open and spacious not as tight and narrow as Bryant Park. That's not to say Union Square doesn't get crowded (it absolutely does), but the experience still feels more enjoyable and less cramped. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
