After viewing the model unit, we wanted to see if it would be possible to change assigned bedrooms. The staff was friendly at first but then completely ignored my requests and concerns. My family and I were dismissed when we asked about switching rooms as the furniture had already been assigned. Despite us having genuine concerns about each room. Our needs were unfortunately not met and as we were leaving, my roommate received a notification that she had been moved to my room and I was moved to hers, despite me not giving any indication that I wanted to switch into my roommates room. We simply wanted to stay on the same floor and unfortunately, the leasing manager at the Hannah Townhomes & Lofts leasing office brushed us off. We are very displeased.

The location is honestly one of the biggest perks it's close enough to campus that you can bike or take the bus easily, but far enough that it feels like a little break from the chaos of. The bus is super convenient too, especially on Saturday. The apartments are modern and spacious. The in-unit laundry and furnished setup make moving in really simple. I work with Katy Wedge, who has always provided spectacular service no matter what I need assistance with. The rates are competitive and everything you need is less than 5 minute drive away. They have two weight rooms, plus other amenities and community events at least once a week. The only reason why I rate it 4 stars is because upgrades should be made to some of the older units. However it's a nice place and I would definitely recommend it to future residents.

Jaeligh in the leasing office was very condescending when I asked for help with a package that was locked in the package locker. She told me to come back and check whether someone had come to unlock the locker, but she gave me no time frame for when that would happen. She also did not take down my name, phone number, apartment number, or any information to contact me once the issue was resolved. I was essentially expected to continuously come back and check the locker myself, & direct calls to the leasing office do not go through and you have to wait for someone to call you back. ^ I shouldn't have to repeatedly chase down an issue involving my package because someone couldn't be bothered to take my information or provide any type of follow-up. The only people who have consistently been helpful during my time living here are Isabella and Marissa. They return calls and have helped me locate my packages. They are the only reason university edge is getting more than one star.

It's in the heart of downtown East Lansing and only a short walk from the stadium. I love living with my friends while still having my own private space, and we were even able to get a whole group of us into units close by. The events the staff throws are great for meeting other residents too. As an out-of-state student, being able to connect with people beyond the friends I came to MSU with has been a huge plus.

I'm disappointed in the priorities of management. Residents receive text messages and emails…read morenotifying everyone of any social event, activity, or cookie available in the leasing office. However, when the dropbox for rent checks was compromised they merely taped a note to resident's doors. I'm not blaming them for the compromised checks that required a police report to be filed. It is concerning that they did not feel that was urgent knowledge to tell their residents, but the free chicken nuggets in the kitchen were. Other than the priority concern above, overall it is a nice place to live.

The low advertised rent is misleading; mandatory fees push the real cost much higher. Expect…read moreunexplained charges, and don't trust what they tell you about when your final payment is due.
