The dentist is very personable and always makes sure that you understand the procedure you are about to have and all your options. This past week I loved my visit even more, she knows that I'm very interested in looking at the new technology. This last time she let me to see the 3D printer and how it creates the crowns that are placed the same day. The hygienist showed me the materials used and explained everything to me. Before that she showed me the technology on the computer on how they create a persons crown. After my procedure I took one ibuprofen and was great the next day. I went for cleaning today and the hygienist was great. Dr. Kleem came to check my teeth and she remembered our previous conversation. They care.

I am also very appreciative of the way she has addressed my questions and the way in which she handled the fear I expressed over the need to have a wisdom tooth extracted. She listened to me, and was able to put me at ease for the procedure. I felt nothing secondary to the fact that Dr. Kleem made sure I was totally numb. I followed her after care instructions to the letter and have healed totally. As a former nurse, I really appreciate going to a provider who sees me and hears me. I took into account, that I wanted to continue to go to Dr. Kleem, when I chose my Medicare Advantage plan for 2026! I do not have dental insurance, but their prices are affordable and definitely cheaper than most dental offices in the area. They accept most dental insurance if you plan to use your dental insurance. I ended up choosing their dental plan which was within my price range that fits my needs. Also, I was being treated with invisalign but for some reason the dentist decided to make a physical mold for my braces so I would have had to come back in for them to scan me for a new retainer simply because they did it that way. It made no sense why he did that. It was a waste of time and energy for me. They wasted so much of my time and energy, not to mention money. I left there in tears half the time.

When you arrive you check in at the front desk then an assistant gives you a little office tour and tells you a bit about the doc. The place is immaculately clean. The entire process (I was here for a tooth repair) is efficient but they don't rush you. I had a few questions and the doc and hygienist answered all of them and them some. Oh! I almost forgot. Make sure you fill out the new patient forms on their website. It's helpful because before they complete your service, someone will come and tell you what you will have to pay out of pocket. They try to avoid financial surprises. I appreciate that because dental work can be expensive and it's nice that they are sensitive to that. When it's over, you get a little welcome gift bag with some university heights dental swag lol: a double insulated water cup with straw, a nice chapstick, and a hand written note welcoming you to the practice. I switched to this practice due to a change in my insurance coverage, having recently had a dental exam and X-rays just six months prior. These images were provided to UHD. At my initial visit, before even receiving an exam, I was told I would need 18 bitewing X-rays to create a full-mouth panorama. As a medical physician, I questioned the necessity of this, especially given that recent X-rays were already available. When I asked whether I could opt for the standard molar bitewings instead, the hygienist became visibly frustrated. It seemed clear he was accustomed to patients questioning this practice and annoyed by it. An associate dentist then came in to explain that the full set of X-rays was necessary so she could assess my bone structure and check for oral cancer. I explained that I am a physician and that this is not the standard method for oral cancer screening. She then claimed that this was the "standard of care." When I asked her to show me the ADA guidelines to support this, she brought back a chart that applied to patients with periodontal disease or dentofacial abnormalities--neither of which apply to me. After reviewing the actual ADA guidelines myself (see screenshot from this article: https://jada.ada.org/article/S0002-8177(23)00734-1/fulltext), it's clear that requiring 18 X-rays in this context is not evidence-based. I shared this with her, and she then suggested we "dissolve the relationship" and that I seek dental care elsewhere. I added photos to show that when patients are told that they are just temporary not to worry and that the aesthetic of the temporary is not important that is incorrect the temporary prototype and design that you try in will basically be an exact model replica of the final product. You will be stuck wearing it until you can find a bite any skilled dentist should be able to find your bite and make it align, although the teeth will be dependent how they look, and if they align will be dependent on the implant placement, Dr. Kylander took x-rays and verified in his expert opinion that nothing was wrong with the placement or the angles of the Implants four on the top and four on the bottom, the photo is to show you that the temporary still need to align in order to regain function, not have pain in order to chew and not cause implant failure, which could be catastrophic, especially to patients who I've already lost a lot of bone Dr. K worked all hours very late and very early even on weekends, but when it was time to deliver, he was very busy booked out for weeks and informed me don't ever call him on a weekend. He walked away from the case before completion because I expressed unhappy with no referral to a doctor with a technology to finish this project he claimed that there was an oral surgeon working at this practice to help with the procedure, but there was none just an unofficial associate that he called for advice to top it all off to add insult to injury because you know human beings already find it hard to trust dentists. I found my medical footage used on his propaganda advertisements on Instagram when I asked him why he did not ask my permission. He said he can post whatever he likes. I don't think that is legally binding, but it would've been respectful to inform the patient if there's nothing to hide Dr. Kylander is a compulsive liar as per my experience and a snake oil salesman. I am so disappointed I walked into Lakewood Dental and trusted them with my VA benefits. He even tried to upsell because the department was going to pay for it I hope he doesn't get a dime and he also kept my implant driver set which cost me $200. It's kind of funny because a Dentist shouldn't be keeping something that the patient paid for themselves. He should be able to afford his own.
