They don't do dinner anymore, so I gave breakfast a try. I asked for sunny side up eggs, a really delicate fry. I got eggs that had browned edges and hardly any yoke. They were cold by the time I got into them, and there was an egg shell I chewed down on and spit out, didn't eat but one of my eggs. Next up, the toast was like a rock, but the jelly was good (it's pre-packaged jelly.) And I felt that the country ham had an extra serving of salt on it, or five. Way over salted. Country ham is salty, but nowhere near that salty. As if someone stood there while it was cooking dumping more. Not to mention it was chewy and of course, cold. What happened here??? After I treated the mother-in-law to a mani/pedi (Solar Nails), she had to treat me to lunch. She chose one of her favorites and obviously it is a local favorite. You order at the counter, find a table and wait for your order to be called out. Mom K. had the Chili Burger Plate and I had the Hamburger Plate. Both came with French Fries and Cole Slaw. The portions were very generous. My first impression was both the Cole slaw and the fries needed a little more seasoning. I usually eat my Fries with Malt Vinegar or Red Robin seasoning. (Can you guess my usual go-to hamburger place?) The restaurant had a diner vibe. The young lady that took our order was fast, efficient and friendly. The food was plain home-cooking. It's a good place to go if you're on a budget...the portions are huge and the prices are good. Next time the mother-in-law wants to treat me again, I'll have to try the Peach Milkshake! read more

The Huddle has been in Easley for many many years. It's been some years since I had eaten at the Huddle. I ordered the baby club plate. It's a triple decker sandwich with 3 slices of toasted white bread, with turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. The plate comes with crinkle cut fries and cole slaw. It was fresh, the fries were hot and salted just right, good Cole slaw too. Stopped by for breakfast for the first time. I ordered a breakfast platter. It comes with one or two eggs, bacon, sausage or ham, hash browns or grits, toast or a biscuit. I had the two egg platter, scrambled eggs, bacon, grits and a biscuit. I the best thing on the platter was the bacon. It was crispy and about five strips. The grits got better as they cooled down, meaning they were a little running, but thickened as they cooled. The biscuit was huge and tasted home made. Now the scrambled eggs, SMH, had absolutely no taste what so ever!! No salt, no pepper, no flavor, I think they might have been egg beaters. Not feeling breakfast at the Huddle, I'll just head to Cracker Barrel next time. read more

I was disgusted and embarrassed when I took some friends from out of state to the Huddle, we went there because they wanted to eat at a local restaurant and this was the first one I thought of. I used to eat here regularly but I don't know if it when I'll return. I ordered a chili cheeseburger and my friend ordered a chili dog. First her chili dog was missing the hot dog. She went up to let the counter know and when she returned to the table she commented that it didn't look cooked. Not only did they give her a cold hot dog but the chili on both our items wasn't even warm. read more

Sometimes the little things can knock down even the most awesome experience. My friend and I had the perfect set-up: a rainstorm, an entire pre-meal week of elementary school food, and an empty stomach. We pulled up to the drive through at this joint scrounged through the large menu. I chose the patty melt plate, and I was super pumped. $7 for an absolute feast... Oh, this is going to be so good. My first thought? Save the slaw, add the hushpuppies... and make those fries chili cheese, please. The patty melt was absolutely the most melty version I have ever had. The cheese (probably processed American--nice) was dripping into the bread, and the two beef patties dripped of grease. And I am pretty sure that a stick of butter went into grilling my toast. I should have gone with the sandwich alone to fulfill my 2000 calories. The fries were disappointing. The crinkle-cuts were bland, as they were most likely fried straight from the package and put on my plate. The chili was just dry ground beef, and the cheese was ripped up slices, I think. I would have preferred shredded cheese. Oh well, when eating like a fatty, eat like a fatty and go with chili cheese fries. The hushpuppies were different than most; they were very very crispy, and they had a thick crust. The inside was mealy and corn-like. Not a bad option for a side. The Huddle is a great eatery for a quick meal, a family meal, or a snack. There is a bunch of stuff to choose from, and the food that I had gave testament to their great stick-to-your-ribs grub. read more

The only reason I would give it a 4 and not a 5 is because at times (like any other business) they can get overwhelmed and mess things up. But with that aside I would highly recommend 1 of their burger plates or their philly cheesesteak plate. For quantity and quality I would give it a 4 1/2 out of 5! read more

This is my favorite burger place. The first ti.e I went here was 5 years ago. Every since then, this place have the best club sandwich, chicken tender place and especially the breakfast just can't get enough of their grits bacon and sausage with toast and juice.
