I have been coming to Boomer's awesome shop for years. Everything is high quality, pens, knives, jewelery and of course, cigars. Boomer is very friendly and is super helpful with great suggestions for cigars for every budget. The walk-in humidor is full of perfectly kept cigars and are very reasonably priced. The new location on Deep Valley Drive is easy to find....pull up the driveway to access the back of the buikding and go almost all the way up and look for the Huckleberry's sign on the right. You don't have to smoke cigars to appreciate Huckleberry's, I discovered today. I went in to check out their "writing supplies", hoping to find a nice leather-cover journal for a project I'm working on. Not only did I find one, I bought two. And beautiful, they are. The pages are handmade paper. I think I entered huckleberry heaven. The best part: the price. The small one was 15 bucks, the large one only 25. I've paid much more than this for comparable. And after seeing their selection of gorgeous fountain pens, I'm tempted to go back for one. (I lost mine decades ago & still miss it.) The proprietor (Boomer?) is so cool, you will be beyond pleased. He gave me gift boxes for my journals & even some fancy tissue paper. I carried it all out in a lovely, sturdy handle bag. Was I on Rodeo Drive or was this really on Catalina in my own little village? Speaking of location, Huckleberry's was formerly up on the PV Hill. Now it's in Redondo's Riviera Village. Close enough for me to walk there from home, but I'll be too tired......because I'm so inspired to write that I'll probably be awake the whole damn night. Smiling. read more

I went to Huckleberry's to find an anniversary cigar for my boyfriend, something to enjoy after a nice dinner. The owner was wonderful. He was very helpful, and the atmosphere is not at all pretentious or intimidating. I felt like I was asking my big brother for help. They have a lot of other high-end items too. Run by a genuine, cordial, country singer who goes by "Boomer," this is probably one of my favorite cigar lounges in the South Bay. In fact, I think it's one of the ONLY cigar lounges in the South Bay. Huckleberry's is really more of a gentleman's store than your run-of-the-mill cigar shop -- and keep in mind I use the classical definition of the word "gentleman." The shelves are stocked with grooming products from Art of Shaving (which I've been using for years), top-tier writing instruments, and a periphery of great "man-gifts" like leather items and really sharp pocketknives. Naturally there's an abundance of cigars and cigar accessories (ashtrays, Xikar cutters, lighters). I should mention that his cigar assortment is one of the best I've seen in this entire city. Not only has Huckleberry's been the only place I can reliably get a Fuente Anejo in the off-season, but the prices are fair, especially so compared to the big-name cigar shops around LA. The great store layout combined with Boomer's gracious hospitality makes this place a fantastic place to sit back and enjoy that stogie, or to pick up a gift for that guy who has nearly everything. read more

So you're in the mood for a good cigar eh? If you're on the hill or close by this is the place to go. The owner Boomer is personable, helpful, knowledgeable, and keeps a great selection of high end cigars in stock. This seems to be a trick in this economy. Most of the places I used to go to seem to be having trouble with this. The humidor here is kept quite well allowing the cigars to develop and maintain plumage and will always be in the optimum state to light up and enjoy. There's also a pretty good selection of cigar paraphernalia, cutters, lighters, humidors as well as some great gentleman's effects like cuff links, pens and shaving supplies. This is easily my favorite shop in the South Bay. The prices here are spot on and there is something for whatever price range you are looking in. I live right by another shop and come across town because you don't get gouged for cost here. From what I can tell, its owner operated - Boomer is incredibly knowledgable, and is always laid back and friendly. The humidor is well kept and the cigars are better for it. The lounge is tucked away in back and is a welcome retreat from the rest of the world. Also, the Red Onion is pretty close by and you cant go wrong with that. read more

This is a very fine shop which houses one of the few dedicated cigar lounges, meaning it's a separate section of the shop, not an area you have to walk through to get somewhere in the store. The selection of cigars is vast and any cigar smoker will find something to his/her liking in the ginormous walk-in humidor. The worker was very helpful and nice to a person who is not an experienced cigar smoker. They also give you their own cigar cutter and a box of matches. Out of the few cigar lounges I've been to, this was the first one to give me matches, and a cutter too! The prices here are cheaper than other lounges I've been to.
