    Bottoms Up!

As a beer drinker who likes fun drinking apparatuses I am so jazzed that I was taken here to enjoy a boot of beer! And good beer at that - Paulaner Hefeweisen :-) Here's the skinny: go down to the basement, ask the bartender for a boot of beer, he (or she) takes your ID and credit card as a "just in case" deposit on the boot, chug, glug, and enjoy! Finally, you pay $20ish for the whole thing. Of course, if you add more beer on top of the boot, the tab will go up slightly...I speak from experience. While the space is not the largest there are a few booths in addition to some high tops and the long Oktoberfest style tables in the middle. Sit, drink and be merry! While some have commented that the crowd is obnoxious I would argue that it's all in the eye of the beholder. True German biergartens are much more rowdy than this! I think someone said there was a guy there who was on The Real World but who really cares? I also saw a dude with a Colorado A & M shirt - high marks for that - GO RAMS! Plus, a corner table filled with vampires helped matters too. I saw all walks of life - great variety of clientele. I think the best part is when someone is close to the end of a boot the other patrons will cheer him or her on. With that kind of support how can you not love the camaraderie? Gotta finish in style!

If you are F-ed up enough to take your kid to a bar, this should be the one. Great beer selection and the kids love the big pretzels!!

Some of the best beer I've had in a long time and a pretty relaxed atmosphere to boot.

I decided to try Crescent Moon for my birthday after seeing all of the amazing things about it on Yelp.

We had potato skins with cheddar and bacon as an appetizer. It was tasty but not wonderful. Bookguy had fish and chips. The fish was great, very crispy and light. It was a big portion so leftovers provided dinner later. The fries were a generous size and good too. I had a patty melt on rye with a salad. The salad was pretty standard and I really liked the patty melt-- big enough to take half home and not greasy. It was rather noisy while we were there and they probably could have used another server. We enjoyed our lunch and plan to come back again.

I went with the fish and chips and was blown away by this portion size and flavor! Two HUGE cod filets accompanied by a side of fries, but I went with the onion rings as I heard they were delicious. The cod has a thick, crunchy breading around it, making it very very filling. The onion rings were very unique. Not a long onion deep fried, but small onion pieces within the breading. I've never had something like that before, but they were golden brown and amazingly crunchy. Make sure you get extra tartar sauce for this dish because you're going to need it! Service was quick and easy for a take out order. I would come back for another meal to try their other menu options and drinks. Thanks for a great first impression!
