I was a…read morefreshman in high school and I have always loved horses, and I finally talked my mom into looking into getting one. I found her facility online and my mom and I set up a time to come see the place. After looking into the costs of food, board, and other expenses, my mom came to the conclusion that she simply couldn't afford it. When Tanya heard this, she offered to let me come by to help groom and exercise some of her horses. In exchange for helping with their care, I also got to ride in the arena with her trainer. Sometimes I would ride along in the "Gator" that she uses to get across her property quickly, and sometimes helped with little things, like cleaning and filling water buckets or helping to feed. I am honestly thankful for these opportunity to learn what it's really like to own and care for a horse. Tanya provides a unique opportunity to any child that would like to learn about horses. I am now out of high school and just moved back after doing a couple of years of college in Colorado, and I am back working with Tanya and her herd again. I've only been back about a month, but I can personally say that all of her animals still look great. In addition to the horses, she also has Emus, Alpacas, monkeys, wallabies, peacocks, and more. I have never seen her skip a feeding, and she pays me well to do all of the cleaning. Her animals mean a great deal to her, and I have even seen her fire employees for mistreating her animals. Aside from all the animals, she also has some great amenities, such as a covered arena, a barn, 2 tack rooms, jumps of all different heights, barrels, wash areas, stalls with runs, pastures, and more. Tanya has a great facility, whether you're looking to board, or just wanting to see some unusual animals, you won't be disappointed! :)

The horses looked well taken care of and happy, facilities were clean, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The lady matched up the horses to each of us based on riding experience. Unfortunately, one of the horses started acting up so we had to go back to the stables but the lady let us have some fun running the horses in the ring. That was awesome and so fun!! What could've turned into a bad experience turned into an awesome one! P.S - Yes, the stables are hard to find and we had to call them several times to find the place but hey, it's in the middle of nowhere! :P

I'm not sure it's exactly like riding a bike--but Karen made me feel completely at ease from the start. Kiwi, my horse, was incredibly patient and gentle with me. I swear she knew I needed a little extra TLC! It made the whole experience so enjoyable and stress-free. I even got to do a tiny bit of trotting, which was such a fun bonus. Instead of educating me, as I didn't know it was not ok to get on a mini, my son is 1 1/2, my son does not ride him all the time. He got on him a few times. The person I got him from broke him and rode him all the time. I'm assuming she thought we rode him which is not the case. He is a pet like our dog and grazes out. For her to scold me as she did and didn't even hear what I was saying and hung up on me, is very disrespectful. Definitely a crazy person. I foster, volunteer and take very good care of all my animals. Thankfully, I'm able to get a mini from somewhere else that needs a good home. I was trying to do it here so they can have a good life, but obviously this person has major issues and this is the type of person that goes crazy on someone for no reason. My mini is so well taken care of, loved and is a family member. Psychopath didn't even let me finish speaking. Response to Jeanie's lies: I absolutely did not try to educate you that it was OK to ride a small horse like that . You sound ignorant. "I tried to educate you" The fact that you're lying is very disturbing. To make it very clear again we do not ride him, I specifically said he came from a situation where he was ridden all the time, they broke him to ride and they stopped caring about him. Now he is a pet. Not mad at all you don't want to adopt to me, I have plenty of options. What is irritating to me is that you yelled at me and hung up on me. I am a grown woman and you sound like an older woman. But your behavior is that of a child. You started screaming at me and hung up on me. I was trying to talk and you were talking over me. You heard what you wanted to hear. No wonder you have so many minis in your care. It's hard to deal with you. We're fine with not adopting from you. We have an appointment to see another mini today. I was worried about their…read moresafety because they have never ridden before, but their horse Tango is seriously THE sweetest. Rusty is great with my kids. His super knowledgeable and patient. He explains things in a way that they can easily understand even at a young age. This was no pony ride! My boys learned a ton in a short period of time. They are so excited to go back.
