I have lived in North Seattle for years and frequent Northgate. This park replaced a park and ride.
I like having a green space in any urban area. I think I'm very lucky to live in Seattle with so many options. This park has a mini-basketball court, benches, and a path. One corner is fenced off so I'm not sure what's going to happen with that. I would like more trees for shade but I'm sure that will come later as they grow. I'm just a little impatient that way.
When I've been there, it's been very sparse with other people. I just probably haven't been there at the right time.
Although I think this park could have more bells and whistles, it is very peaceful in a hub of Northgate activity. For me, the best part is the water collection. I often wondered what the deal was with the "creek" on the east side. It prompted me to do some research and I found out that the water collected provides irrigation for the park. Awesome! read more
