BUYERS BEWARE!!!!! I bought a sensor today, took it too my mechanic and it didn't work, took it back and they said no refund on electronic stuff, you buy it you own it! That's not the store I grew up with, of course HUB Auto took back items that didn't work, not now, corporate GIANT'S and peon employee's don't care anymore. This is the best auto supply in the Costa Mesa area, hands down. And I have yet to find a better one anywhere. The guys at the counter are really helpful. If they don't have a part or tool (which is rare), you either REALLY don't need it or they have a good handle on where to find it. Have gotten various obscure components here, including the power window assembly for a Dodge Caravan. Price was equal to what I would have paid going through the internet. My former Los Angeles Fire Captain neighbor told me about Hub Auto Supply for years but it's been hard to give up the lifetime warranty offered by other auto parts retailers. I recently learned my lesson the hard way when my Lexus rack and pinion failed. The lifetime warranty remanufactured product from a major auto parts retailer failed twice within a few weeks of each other. I'm sure this was an isolated incident but I decided to trust Hub's recommendation and purchased a Maval rack and pinion, a quality product made with care in the USA. They also recommended the Moog outer tie rod ends. The Maval rack and pinion performs incredibly well to the exact OEM specifications. The Moog outer tie rods are built extremely well and very reliable. These are very high quality brands not offered by most chain retailers. Thank you for carrying excellent, high end, quality and reliable automotive products. My Lexus steers so much smoother and I am confident the parts will last for several years. I run a auto repair facility in Huntington Beach and we have been buying from HUB for over 40 years. Everyone makes a mistake, it's how you stand up afterwards that separates you from everyone else (not saying they make many mistakes). They have always gone above and beyond to help us. The reason I'm writing a review today is because Vince called me back about some parts we bought from someone else due to pricing. He let me know they had another avenue to use in the future to be more competitive where we can both make a profit while delivering the customer quality parts more affordably (GOD knows i'm not rich either). I *heart* Hub! This place is a life-saver and the guys in there are Sweethearts! I just bought a new (used) car and found out the brakes and rotors need replacing, so I'm calling all the regular shops getting quotes and decided the nails and manicure are only $40.00 (which is cheap compared to the brake job) the flippin brakes are wicked expensive so it's time to forget the nails for a bit and get back to being a DO IT YOURSELF kinda gal and use my auto mechanics knowledge from Job Corps. So, after getting everywhere from $300 to 400.00 in quotes at the mechanic shops, I called Hub....... got a great price on parts AND Sam was amazingly helpful in getting me the right part THE FIRST TIME! I know there's 'mark-up' everywhere but WE ARE IN A RECESSION and this place is FAIR priced, employees have FRIENDLY attitudes AND have FANTASTIC customer service! This is my 6th vehicle and I live close to Hub but I'd make the drive if I lived further away, in all the years I've had to go to Hub and get parts = I've yet to be disappointed .......::: big smile...... and an FYI to the 'slim jim' guy post below, those are ILLEGAL to have in California unless you are a tow/service-truck driver ....... so not sure what you got but an AAA Membership would have saved your butt, your door and your screw drivers - Just sayin ;) Thank you Sam!!!!!! and all the guys there that have helped me through the years - from the Chrysler New Yorker, RAV4, Saturn, Durango, Taurus and now the Mustang...... I believe these associates would treat me fairly, regardless of my age or gender, but I am pleased to say I was treated extremely well here, and it was unexpected. I visited this store to purchase windshield wipers. Alan responded immediately and even installed my new wipers without asking - NO EXTRA CHARGE! This place never let's me down, not only they have really good prices but they honestly have the best customer service!! They greet you as soon as you come in and they ask if you need help. The price of a car batterie is very affordable and they have a lot better guaranty than the other shops. I just bought a whipper for my car right now and it was RAINING and the guy who I should of gotten his name (sorry) came out and make sure I had the right whipper for my car and not only that HE PUT IT ON HIMSELF!!! Damn... was hoping to be the first to review... Anyways my situation is similar to Tony's ^^^ I had locked my keys in my car and did not want to spend $60 on AAA to come open my door... so I called around a few places looking for a "Slim Jim" Slim Jim = the tool used to unlock the door when your keys are stuck inside. Anyways, found Hub on random "Auto Parts" search on Google. Called them, asked if they had it, they had one left for $1.99. I was very very excited thinking that I could get my car door open for $2. So I get the tool (knowing nothing about opening doors) and try to open my door. The notches on the slim jim are sooooooooo small it makes it virtually impossible to find the latch to unlock the door. I watched numerous videos on youtube to see how to do it and their Slim Jims looked nothing like the one I had. They had big grooves/notches which made it easier to find and hook the latch. Anyways.. 2 hours later I had to pry open my door with several screwdrivers... all in all the slim jim was worthless. read more

The staff will work with you on hard to find parts and since I only work on Classic cars, they spend the time to find what you need and most of the time if they don't have the part they will get it for you in the matter of a few hours. I've been here a few times just to price out a couple of parts on my car. I was looking for brake pads for a Hyundai accent, I got the pads and was on my way. Come to find out those pads were wrong after I took apart the caliper. I took them back and they said those are the ones that your car calls for, obviously they are not the right ones if they don't even look like the old ones! Long story short they didn't seem to really want to help me find the right ones, so I returned them and went to autozone down the street (autozone found the right pads for my car the 1st time). If you want to go to a small, dated and questionable auto parts store then hub auto supply is the right place for you! I for one will never return. read more

Wow! This is a true auto parts store! I needed a seal for the transfer case on my Jeep Wrangler. Because I have a aftermarket slip yoke eliminator kit installed no one knows what the replacement seal would be. I called all the big 4x4 shops, no help, went into a autozone and if they can't just look up the year, make and model they can't help. I started calling transmission shops and a owner at one said to call Hub auto in CM if anyone can help, it will be them. Went there with the old seal in hand. The guy at the counter took out some calipers and took some measurements, looked in a book to cross-referenced all the makes and models with the same measurements, typed in the computer the six that matched and they had one in stock. This is my kind of shop! It has been years since I have met anyone in the auto industry who is capable like this. Thank you! read more

An old-school auto parts store with fair prices and helpful counter people. They came through with generic (non-BMW-branded) bulbs for my Z3 instrument display and OEM spark plugs for a Saab turbo. And they had old-fashioned feeler gauges when other places didn't even know what I was talking about. I have other, closer, options like Pep Boys, Kragen, etc but it seems Hub saves my butt time after time. Always my first call now. read more
