I was lucky enough to connect with Daphney in the customer service department at HSA Insurance. The EFT for payment had been returned and it took some detective work to find that HSA, among other intial data entry errors, had marked our bank account "checking" when in fact it was "savings". That caused the rejection. Well Daphney worked to correct it and never made me feel rushed. She solved the problem and I thank her for her professionalism and patience. read more

It seems like this is the highest cost insurance you can find. Each year I have less and less coverage a higher premium and deductible. If I told you how much I'm paying for a family of four you would not believe me. Any other health option would be better. read more

I called twice and was told a supervisor would call me back. This has not happened. An additional 5.00 fee was added to my monthly bill - for WHAT? I'd like it removed. I was not advised of this fee of 60.00 more pre year - for WHAT???? read more

Very sneaky. What do they do other than book keeping. Email the monthly invoice. For a single healthy individual my payment went from $983 per month to $1082 as of 1/1/23 then they added $5 a month Service Fee. What service fee. My bank automatically puts the money in their bank every month. Very sneaky. read more

Probably well-intentioned but then the road to Hell was paved... My experience is a disconnected bunch of underinformed lackeys trying to pass on (mis)information. There was an error on my THP insurance where a 1000.00 online payment should have been held and declined--it was processed instead... Then I asked about scheduling smaller weekly premium payments instead of one-time or recurring huge monthly--nope I hafta do myself (guess Eversource should sell insurance cause THEY got it figured out!). After all, "you can always schedule another payment after 24 hours" FALSE! your last pending HAS to have cleared all banks for the system to reset and you to even see the payment window! Currently checking for a way my (larger) bank can stuff weekly payments into their system whether they like it or not... When I attempted to point out the one of the 'suits' I finally got that this sort of payment flexibility is becoming necessary for folks in this economy, they're obviously just not interested. read more

I do have to say the opposite whenever I have called this company I was treated with nothing but respect. They have always took the time to answer all of my questions about he best way they possibly could. My broker has always explained everything and also handed me literature to go over so I always had copies. I am a hair dresser so most salons don't offer insurance so I was forced to get my own plan. I started off with Tufts direct it was under 400.00 a month with no deductible. I don't like the limited network because I am not a fan of Atrius health. In November when open enrollment starts up I am going to be looking at other routes to take. I live at the drs so a deductible plan isn't my best option. read more

Horrible! If I could give it a 0 I would. They tried to give the credit for the Delta Covid 19 and then not give out at ALL! Tried calling them about this and they can't explain why I can't see it (since I'm paying the same about each month w/ out the credit). Tried to tell me they will transfer me to a supervisor, only to get voice mail. Doubt they will call back! HORRIBLE! LAST YEAR I WILL GO TO THEM FOR INSURANCE! read more

Awful company to work with. I am an employer and I cannot tell you how many times they have "lost" our new enrollment forms for employees. We had one instance where we paid for the employee for 6 months. He went to use his coverage and was told he was not covered. HSA added him immediately but would not reimburse the back payments we made where he technically was not covered. This was only one time we had an issue with them, we have had easily had over 10 issues. Stay away if you can! read more

I bought a home last year and requested that a home warranty be included in the sale. What a waste of money. This company found a loophole in ever single issue that I took to them. They wouldn't let you hire your own repairman, so it would seem that the ones they send out know the score and will always find a way to weasel out. Totally worthless. read more

You would be EXTREMELY lucky to get someone on the phone on your first try. You would be a super star if you could get your question answered in two calls. And you would be incredible if you got your problem resolved in three calls. One of the absolute worst customer experiences ever coming from a person who has been both an employer level customer and an individual customer. Oh and bills are always late don't show payments it is a real guessing game which is crazy given the importance of health insurance. Can't wait to get away in the next renewal period. I would rather pay an additional $300-400 and go with another company than deal with HSA. (I used this company years ago when it was Mass Business association and it was good then A, now an F or F minus) read more

Stay far away from this company. The are unethical, untruthful, and quite frankly have no right to be in business, My company switched insurance companies and we went through a broker to purchased through him. I was told the first deduction would be taken out of my account January 24, 2018. Much to my surprise the amount was deducted on December 6th. On top of that the lovely broker stated the amount was $305.00 HSA changed it to $357.00 failed to tell me. I immediately called the company on December 6th and cancelled. Keep in mind they have my full bank information they stated we issue refunds on the 10th and 20th your check will go out on the 10th. Apparently they have the technology to rip the money out of your account without permission but are not competent enough to put it back. I called today 8 days after the check was allegedly sent, I was told yeah it should have gone out on the 10th not sure why it did not. your check will now be sent on the 20th. I am sorry but what. I asked for a supervisor was transferred to a generic voice mail. No return call. I called back and was again told sorry nothing we can do. I immediately filed a complaint with the BBB and will not consult legal counsel. read more

Awful. I switched to HSA from the Health Connector starting Jan 1 and after dealing with them for a couple of weeks switched back to the Health Connector Feb 1. Almost every employee seems grouchy. I get that it's open enrollment and they are busy but there's never a good reason to not be pleasant to customers. I got different info from each rep every time I called. One rep named Mauri was not only unprofessional but downright rude. Stay away from HSA. read more

I was referred to HSA by a friend to find insurance for my own family. I have called 10 times and I haven't been only able to get through to a secretary once. Every other time the actual greeting says that they are in a meeting and gives you no option to leave a message. I have called off hours hoping to leave a message in a mailbox and each time the greeting says "message quota exceeded, goodbye." Who one time I did get through to a person it was a secretary only took a message for somebody Else who was supposed to call me back and never did. I have given up trying to give these people my business and I'm going to move on on my own. My suggestion is for anyone calling them not too wasted their time. I am not surprised that the one star reviews by the people that are actually their clients. read more

The lack of service and responsiveness from this firm is almost impossible to put into words. As a small business we have been forced to work with them for the past several years due to the lack of competition and just when you think it can't get any worse or more frustrating, it does! If you have ANY other options, go elsewhere. read more

We have been with HSA for many years and I agree with a previous reviewer that every year they have gotten worse. I dread calling them for anything. At enrollment time I was getting one price on the web which was different from the price they sent out and they never did figure it out but would not honor the quote on the website. Meanwhile they accessed late fees while they figured it out. There is no person assigned to your company so no customer service. I feel like we pay $150 in dues for nothing. We had missed the enrollment period last year for the health connector because our renewal with these people is April but as soon as we can we are through with them. read more

Not great. Some of their problems may be caused by increased workload resulting from the Affordable Care Act but information is sketchy, responses are slow and sometimes require multiple reminders, and dealing with them has left me feeling unesay. Will definitely review other providers during the next open enrollment period. read more

Our small business has been using H S A (formerly known as Mass. Business Association and Mass. Business Trust) for about 6 years now, and they have gotten worse and worse over time. When we started out, we had an assigned account manager, who was great and efficient, so things worked well. They abandoned that system and now just have...a mess. Last year they did a godawful job during open enrollment (renewal letter didn't come until the last minute, web site was awful, it took HOURS on hold - honestly, I just put the phone on speaker and left it on the table - before you got a message saying that they were too busy and should call back later) but they blamed it on the Affordable Care Act. This year, they are still totally disorganized (it's the end of the first week of March but we still haven't received our renewal letter, which we were supposed to get 30 days before the April 1 renewal date), the web site is awful (if you click on a plan name for the details, you get the message "Document not available" (they say they are "working on it"). Granted, no good programmers want to work for insurance companies, so you're getting the bottom of the barrel and their web site shows it. They are truly godawful. Next year, we will probably just go through SBSB (Small Business Service Bureau) or even the Mass. Connector, because the ineptitude of this organization is stupefying and we don't see a difference in rates. Oh, and try calling or chatting online with a Customer Service rep - you will undoubtedly get conflicting answers, as I have on more than one occasion. read more
