On a holiday weekend, the place was packed with quite a lot of people here playing and spectacting. The park is easy to access but is down a tree lined road off Nations Ford. Other than the soccer fields, there are half-court and full-court basketball courts, walking trails, a picnic shelter with grills restrooms and playgrounds. It's a HUGE park.

This is one of the most beautiful parks I've had the pleasure of visiting. There are beautiful views, playgrounds and lawn space for children's play, plenty of parking, trails for walking/bike riding, several bridges, and large trees to compliment the fields. The park is well-kept as everyone here ensures cleanliness and top maintenance. As my dad and I sat down on the bench and soaked in our surroundings, we observed a plethora of activity which included some people flying drones, kids competing in the playground's obstacle course, elderly folks walking, dogs running amok, people racing toy cars, and a few people cycling. The positive energy and vibes were radiant. I'm glad we stopped by here. Definitely worth a visit in Charlotte!

We thought this park looked pretty cool, so we drove over, parked on the road and walked around. It was a nice day and lots of other people were out. We walked around the lake and checked out some of the features like bridges, streams, bridges and an amphitheatre. There was also a playground nearby. All in all, a lovely outdoor space in Charlotte.

When I stopped in today, there was some sort of mountain biking trail thing going on, so they clearly have a ton of that. Not much for playground or basketball, but there are other parks nearby that do have them. The park is set back from Johnston Road so it's quite secluded as far as traffic goes. I definitely need to explore this park a little more but all the areas I've been to here have been great. The bathrooms were clean and well lit too. It seems like a great park for team activities and events. There's also plenty of parking!

Larger park in Southwest Charlotte, Thomas McAlister Winget Park was dedicated on October 15, 2000…read more It was named after Thomas McAllister Winget who died along with three other Olympic High School students in an automobile accident on May 17, 1969. Today, the park boasts basketball courts, trails, three restrooms, picnic shelters with grills, a softball field, a disc golf course and a number of volleyball fields. The picnic shelters can be reserved. Buried at the back end of a residential neighborhood, it is not located near any main roads or even a decent secondary. I'm never one to eat at the ballpark because it's usually overpriced for basic food. Yet, depending on the prices, I would consider eating here outside of work events.

We also checked out the dog part and it was huge too. There's sooooo much space for dogs to run. My dog ran his lil heart out and had a blast.
