HP Driving School Review: *Be sure to call Mrs. Benedictine before you plan to register at the school since she might be teaching other students* and she won't be at the school. When I registered, I called her beforehand and she scheduled to meet me later that day after the classes. I just brought my provisional instruction permit during registration and it was 35 dollars per hour or 210 dollars in total for the 6 hour behind the wheel training. Mrs. Benedictine was always on time with our driving appointments and she would always call about 10 or 5 minutes before to remind you that she is coming. Since I can speak Vietnamese, she spoke to me mostly in Vietnamese during the lessons but she also speaks English if you can't speak Vietnamese! She was really nice and patient during the behind the wheel training even though I had no experience whatsoever of driving. She covers all the requirements and basics such as turning, freeway, parking, parallel parking, various controls in the car, etc. If she tells you that today you have a 1 hour lesson, then it is 1 hour, she nevers ends your lesson earlier or cuts off your lesson. Overall, I'm really happy I met her since she taught me really well, allowed me to practice on lots of different routes, and was always on time! read more

Cô Linh is an amazing teacher. Highly recommend! She was very relaxed since the first session and knows exactly how to teach students to be a safe, but also a good driver on the road. I learned so much from her in just 4 sessions, 6 hours total. She teaches you everything you need on the road, and will review anything you don't feel comfortable in. She also has the answer to almost anything you'd have about driving! Her techniques and personality make learning how to drive both fun and easy. Cô Linh is such an amazing instructor. She's super patient and made sure you felt calm and safe no matter what. She took her time, explained all the important driving points, and was so caring. She made sure you didn't feel stressed out and explained everything so well. She's also very positive and outgoing so it eased me when driving. Her jokes are super funny and brighten the mood too! I was a chicken and was so scared to go anything above 10mph but she made me so confident I felt safe on the freeway on our second lesson. Alright so I'm glad everyone else in this review section had a really good time with this driving school but for me it was not good and if I could I would have given this zero stars. I got an instructor named Uy Quoc Nguyen. I think that's how you spell it and his instructor number is I4062050. At first when I met him he was friendly but as time went on he became aggressive and started saying "how come you don't remember all this" and he literally screams at me saying how we been driving for a month and that I drive like a new driver. He's literally my instructor and he blames everything on me. He's an old man and that's probably why. He's been really stressing me out and I literally get stressed out when I have to go to his lessons to drive. I feel my mental health is going down hill due to this. I thought driving was suppose to be a fun experience but he makes my will to drive go down hill and lose motivation. I'm just trying to pass so I can end all this. Please if you are a parent signing your child/teen up for this. Do not get Uy Quoc Nguyen. Save your money and save your teen's mental health. The instructor was very knowledgeable, caring and effective in teaching my daughter all the important driving skills. Then they provided me with helpful hints as I took over to have my daughter practice until her behind the wheel test. One day prior to her test date, I called the owner and asked if she could do an 1 hour Review with my daughter. The owner was happy to help. I passed on my first try at westminster dmv! Thanks to Mr. Qui (not sure how to spell his name). I called in for a behind the wheel practice and fortunately I was scheduled in the next day already. He was very nice, patient, and would even share about his past student's mistakes so you wouldn't do the same. He was very calm and answered every question that I had about making a turn, etc. He knew every street that is narrow and would tell you beforehand. Honestly I feel bad for giving this place only one star, but Benedictine, the ONLY driving instructor at this school, did damaged my confidence to drive. Here's the break down of my experience with Benedictine throughout the first few months I trained with her. The first two lessons were fine, she taught me nothing new and we just drove. But soon Benedictine would cancel our driving appointments due to her personal issues such as headaches. She did not call me back until 3 weeks later and ignored all phone calls and voice mails that I sent out, and claims to have never received them and that she has attempted to call me numerous times ( funny since I never got a notice of a miss call from her ). I have no idea if she was having an off day, but one day she started screaming at me and threatening to drop me home because I forgot to look at the back window when turning right. However, I got over it and pushed onto more lessons. Benedictine during this time kept rushing me to take my license and would show obvious signs of frustration whenever I displayed signs that I was not prepared. She never taught me how to park at a curb or how to back up in reverse straightly either, and would yell " this isn't Vietnam" whenever I got nervous ( I mean how can I not when shes screaming multiple things at me at once, and I've lived in California for 10 years lol ). The last straw for me was about a weeks ago when she asked me for my GPA and said, "how come you do so well in school, but can't drive?". I hope you know an individual's GPA does not correlate with how well they will be able to drive. After that we got into a bit of an argument and she concluded the lesson saying, " I cannot teach a student like you". After that lesson I immediately told my parents to switch driving schools and ask for half of our money back. I understand teaching can be frustrating, but her behavior was inexcusable and unacceptable. I am not a member if your family or friend Benedictine ( thank god), therefore, you cannot treat a student in such a way as you did. My parents switched me to Bolsa Driving School 3 days ago and I learned more from them than I did from this place within the months I've been with Benedictine. After three days with Bolsa I was able to pass my driving test today, proving that I was not the one at fault. When you destroy someone's confidence and will to learn of course they wont reach their full potential. Although with this being said, I wish this business the best and hopefully if the owners ever stumble upon this review, please change and improve for the best. read more

I would highly recommend this driving school to anyone. I took driving lesson with Ms. Hoa (Benedictine). She's very patient, calm, experienced and professional (always on time :) . She makes you feel comfortable when driving. For beginners, it's quite stress out when you're behind the wheel for the first time ( which is easy to get accidents) , but the instructor knows how to calm you down and make you feel more confident! read more

All I can say is that Benny did a great job teaching me what I needed to know. Before I called Benny, I called another school. However, they never came to pick me up on the day of the scheduled appointment. I am not vietnamese so I think that's why they never picked me up since they were not fluent in English. After that, I called Benny and she immediately scheduled an appointment for the next day. She was real calm and was easy to understand (not real fluent but enough to understand). Of course, I was scared the first time but as I continued to practice with her, I got more relaxed and passed my driving test within 6 days of calling her. I highly recommend you to try driving with Benny. She charges 30 an hour and has a brake and gas pedal on the passenger side for her to control any time she needs to. read more
