A couple months later, we were hit with a record-breaking heatwave with multiple days of 100+ temps. During that hot spell, customers all over Georgia were calling in emergency AC requests, and I'm sure Dennis was working overtime... but he actually called US to check and see if we were cool and comfortable!! Told him about the kitchen being hot when I cooked (I love to cook and do it daily), Jason just said Hmmm. When they came to install it, the went up into the attic with some ducting pieces. I was skeptical, as we didn't really talk about it...I'll be, the sucker is pushing more air through there. Not perfect, but it REALLY helped a good bit. Cleaning up after a job (after 2 decades of working for GE myself) is a pet peeve of mine. These guys cleaned up their own mess as well as other stuff they weren't responsible for...NO KIDDING. I cant speak for the long term, but can tell you that these are my guys for the foreseeable future. NOTE: I got a lot of quotes. 8 of them were a $1000-$1500 higher than what I ended up paying (3 were weirdly less...Fly-by-night looking guys providing hand written notes as quotes...avoid them. Likely stolen units off construction sites) ONE LAST THING: Don't listen to that fool who hasn't actually done any business with ACS but gave them a one star for a traffic incident. What a pile. I have recommended his firm several times since. Normally, I did all of the maintenance after that but, 25 years later, I had a five minute job that I couldn't reach. I called Dockery Plumbing because of their previous work/quality/price and two young guys showed up. They were inside our cabin no more than five or six minutes and charged me $200. Additionally, their work came undone within a couple of weeks. That was more than a year ago and I'm still peeved at being ripped off. David installed a new unit which didn't properly cool the house. They were called and the lady that…read moreanswered said the unit was under warranty and we wouldn't have a service fee. David returned, said the unit was frozen, it was our fault for lowering the thermostat too much and charged a $154.70 fee. Later an inspector saw the unit was improperly installed. Duct board plenums are pulling away from the system need to be replaced with metal. Condensation drain line from the evaporator is not connected. It's dumping gallons of water daily into the crawl space and blowing air there as well. The owner, Jamie Goss, was contacted and failed to remedy the situation. A BBB complaint has been filed. Buyer beware. Owners of this home are recovering from cancer and on a tight budget. It's sad and disgusting how they have been treated by this company.
