In…read morethe year since we moved to this area, we have used Derr Road Kroger on average at least weekly even though Bechtle Ave Kroger is closer. The parking lot, aisles and wheelchair spacing are all better. They have a deli and meat counter. We use pickup orders 60% of the time and I can't remember any mistakes; maybe once? And everyone I've met doing curbside are super friendly and respectful. This whole team just really works at it. They however should improve the carts and wheelchair carts situation. Too many large carts, wheelchair carts are dilapidated and not enough space for them at the front. If you're a sr citizen, I suggest to avoid rush hour there!

Good experience getting an oil change today, that ended up with new tire, tire pressure sensors and…read morevalve stems (TPMS), and wiper blades. I got there at 7:30 for an oil change, no appointments, first come first serve. I wanted the tires rotated, but that can't happen, due to Walmart policy, since they were dry rotted, I was told. Tires are 6 years old and needing replaced, which usually mean research, and trying to find the best deal on Michelins. So I asked for a tire quote and said I wanted all new valve too. Quick quote, no Michelins, they have Goodyears, was told last week the Goodyears were discounted due to Black Friday, of course, so I did a quick internet search.... price for the Goodyear tires seemed in line with other "tire" places so I said OK. When can you get me in, we'll we have an 8am appointment, but if they don't show up, your next, it,'s 8am and the oil change is done. I'm told they give a 15min. grace period. Well the 8am doesn't show up.....I'm right in. Next issue is my 08' Accord has one piece valve stem and TPMS, they only have three, but they call the other Walmart in Springfield, bam they have the one piece TPMS I need. Walmart does not have runners, so I call, Richelle, tell here the story and say we can go to breakfast after the part transportation trip. Richelle picks me up, we do a round trip, when I get back I'm told the other tire will be done in 20min. We go to breakfast at Studebaker's, and I got the text that the job is done. Accord has new shoes. I got text updates the whole time. Staff was friendly. Service was quick. Thanks to the 8am who didn't show up, so go early.

He was missing a hospital discharge paper and the guy that usually is the manager was not the manager that day my brother tried to come back to work and he fired him while he gave him the choice of resigning so he would get his 401k or he would just fire him on the spot. Just because he didn't have an emergency room discharge paper which is insane. My brother almost died for God's sake and gave Walmart 21 years of his life didn't call off but twice in 21 years. So I don't like them because of that but also I am banned from the store on becthle Avenue because as a homeless person I think a lot of places look for any reason to ban you but what's crazy and I still have my receipt as I spent $162.34 in that store I then left and put in the hair dye that I had just bought and I went outside and then my head started burning literally burning so I ran inside to rinse it out because it was an emergency so a customer complained to an employee and the customer or sorry the employee rather came in and so what are you doing I said I'm rinsing my hair dye out I'm not staining the sink it's blonde you see any stain whom am I bothering? She said well we had a customer complaint because not everyone can breathe the chemicals I said I understand that ma'am but my head is on fire she said you're going to have to leave right now I said well okay then I'll go to the hospital because you won't let me rinde it out and my head's on fire so I went to the hospital I had to call the squad and I actually had chemical burns on my head because I could not rinse it out until I got to the emergency room and they rinsed it out for me and then I was in the ICU for 3 days because of the severity of the burn and the pain. But yeah being banned from Walmart is just another day in the life of a homeless person even if you spend over $150 in there they want to ban you because you don't make the place look good and I understand I am homeless not by choice but If I may say...Come on Walmart you even banned Damon Darling and all he ever did was help people and give them money to buy you're overpriced crap in your store. So I hope more people do go to groceryland or Target or Aldi or anywhere but Walmart because the way they treated me I just felt like complete scum. And I was in so much pain having to go to the hospital because they wouldn't let me rinse it out I mean come on Walmart what are we doing? You're firing long time employees that took two days off in 21 years and my guess is you're hiring a bunch of Haitians that are making people like me homeless. I just don't know who you think you are Walmart and yes I'm a whistleblower and yes I know many people with similar stories because if nothing changes nothing changes.

IGA is your typical small town grocer, offering a full line of food products, a full deli, bakery,…read moreoutdoor plants, a surprising wine and beer selection plus the typical home and personal care essentials. Couple that with unusually late hours, friendly staff who know your name, a decent produce selection complete with a gourmet offering of locally made Esther Price Candies and you're good to go. The prices seem a little higher than an in-town store, but it's a price I am willing to pay for the convenience of having a store very close by in this rural area, and I am happy to support them. They seem to be one of the last grocers who carry on the tradition of offering a free cookie for the kiddos too (you only have to ask the baker!) which as trivial as it seems, means a lot to us! I remember looking forward to mine as a kid, and am always sad to hear more and more large stores are not carrying on that "good will" tradition of American Grocers of days gone by.
