I have been seeing Dr Zaiff since July this year. He came highly referred to me by Dr Morgan, another doctor I see. For years I had had a bunion on my left foot and finally this year it had been bugging me enough that I thought it was about time to see someone about it. My first appointment with Dr Zaiff was great. He is such a gentle, warm-hearted and friendly man. He took x-rays in the office and examined my foot. He presented several options to me including surgical and non-surgical things I could do to help. We decided together that it would be best that he do bunion surgery to remove it. So I scheduled the surgery for November. In between deciding to do this, I also saw him to treat a plantar wart on my foot. He used several treatment options including a pulse dye laser, cryotherapy (freezing) and a salacylic acid cream. It was a stubborn wart but finally after several visits to him he was able to get rid of the entire thing. I just had my bunion surgery last Friday (13 Nov). I had heard various things about bunion surgery. Including that it is one of the most painful surgery's you can have to other people saying I will be fine. Dr Zaiff was one of those people telling me that I would have minimal pain and would be back on my feet in no time (in fact, he told me I would be walking out of the office after the surgery...I didn't believe him!). The surgery all went well and indeed Dr Zaiff was right, he gave me a special shoe for my foot and I walked right on out of there, slowly of course! Dr Zaiff told me to rest for a couple of days, keep my foot elevated and iced. Monday (16 Nov) he called to check in on how I was doing - I reported very well, better than I had thought I would be. The pain was minimal and I was on to only taking a couple of regular pain killers as needed. I went back today for a checkup and got to see my foot without the bandage on for the first time . To my surprise there was minimal swelling and bruising and even better is that Dr Zaiff doesn't like stitches! So I was lucky enough to have internal stitches so there will be minimal scarring. Dr Zaiff and his medical team were extremely professional, friendly and made me feel comfortable. One of his Assistants Emily, sat with me right up to when my general anesthetic kicked in and kept me talking to reduce my nerves. The other office staff are always welcoming and accommodating when I come for my appointments. I couldn't have asked for a better team to get me through my surgery. I also like the fact that I didn't have to be admitted to hospital as the office is certified to perform procedures in-house. Very convenient! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr Zaiff and his team, I truly had a wonderful experience for something that isn't very glamorous! Thank you! read more

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO ABUSED IN MY LIFE!!!!! The rudeness of the staff is unacceptable. I believe Dr. Zaiff is a good doctor, and never had a problem with him. But the office staff abused me to no end instead of answering my questions and they called me "nasty" just because I was raising my voice as I was panicking about NOT understanding what to do about my upcoming surgery and because they spoke over me and didn't allow me to talk. They kept telling me that they were doing a favor to the doctor when calling me to schedule surgery. I don't know what they told the doctor that he refused to do my surgery!! THIS IS TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY. In the good old days, they used to call you to apologize. Now they intervene to destroy your health. Dr. Zaiff is an extremely knowledgeable and competent physician. I was introduced to Dr. Zaiff through my regular physician, Dr. Yaffe and have had a wonderful experience so far. Dr. Zaif suggested several courses of action for my severe case of plantar fasciitis and worked closely with me to identify a method that would be most effective. In addition to a night splint, stretching and lessened aerobic activity, he also suggested Extracorporeal shockwave treatment to help treat the stubborn injury. So far, we have done four treatments and my foot is feeling like new. Not only has the pain all but subsided but I am able to walk comfortably and am confident I will be able to return to running soon. I highly recomment Dr. Zaiff's services for any heel or foot issues you may have. Both he and his staff are extremely attentive and also helpful when scheduling appointments or answering questions on treatment options. Every appointment the staff was on time and there was no need to wait, which is wonderful when you need to leave work to make a mid-day appt. I started seeing Dr. Zaiff for a severe case of plantar's fasciitis in both heels (common running injury- constricting of the plantar's tendon in the foot- makes you feel like you are walking on nails with each step). After trying everything, from stretching more to sleeping with Strassburg socks, to no avail I was afraid I would have to give up running permanently. Dr. Zaiff suggested I try shockwave surgery. This is non-invasive surgery, where lasers are used to "shock" the underside of the foot and stimulate the human growth hormones, thereby promoting the elongating of the plantar's tendon and easing the pain. (I'm not a doctor so forgive the layman's explanation of the procedure). I had the surgery on both heels in December and have had three follow ups with Dr. Zaiff since. He cleared me to run a half marathon, which I ran today, pain free! Dr. Zaiff is extremely knowledgeable about treating running injuries (at least of the feet), he gave me excellent instructions, exercises and a foot splint to wear when necessary and is generally just a very warm person. It is always a pleasure to visit the office and I am eternally grateful I didn't have to hang up my running shoes for good! read more

I am actually in shock. There is a nurse (?) receptionist (?) at this office that has always given me a little attitude about getting early morning appointments which hasn't been too much of a problem because they have usually been able to accommodate. Today, after a 25 minute wait (which honestly is REALLY unusual--they are usually really on-time and quick) and I asked about it, and I got tons of attitude. Which, fine, whatever. Bad morning for her. But when I came out to schedule my appointment for the next time she told me she wouldn't be able to accommodate my schedule in the morning on the date--then she let me have it by scolding me loudly in front of a large group of people in the waiting room which included "how SOMETIMES people have to wait" and went on to insult me and call me entitled. (This is because I asked for morning appointments because that's the only thing that works with my boss.) I was humiliated. (I am sorry, but 3PM would not be okay for my work schedule.) But I would NEVER EVER speak to a customer--or anyone for that matter--like that, bad day or not. And is it just me, or isn't their job to schedule? Shouldn't she be used to that? And if someone is waiting well past their appointment time, is it so bad to just say, "hey--we are just waiting for the room to open up?" I have been seeing the doctor for a few months and actually the doctor is great--fantastic actually--totally 5 stars. But to have this miserable person to speak to someone in such an unprofessional manner and humiliate is just unnecessary and cruel and makes everyone look bad. read more

Dr. Zaiff is an extremely competent podiatrist. I had developed pain and swelling in my foot that was exacerbated with activity. Went to two other podiatrists that diagnosed the problem as a bursa sac and their treatment provided no relief. I went to Dr. Zaiff and he was able to correctly diagnose the problem as growths that required surgery. He performed the surgery with expert skill and my foot feels just like it did before the problem, the scar is hardly even visible! I highly recommend Dr. Zaiff for your foot care. read more

After going through 5 doctor's over a 10 year period, Dr. Zaiff was the only physician who actually succeeded in curing my Plantar's Wart (ew). Dr. Zaiff was very determined, and embraced multiple treatment methods when just one wouldn't do the trick. That is a huge proof point to his treatment capabilities. He also helped me with an ingrown toenail (ew) and custom orthotics. I saw Dr. Zaiff for an ingrown toenail, and he reminded me a lot of those nice pediatricians you have as a kid. He was calm, funny, and explained everything he was going to do. Procedure was pretty painless, and he gave me clear follow-up care instructions. He even drew a smiley face on the bandage!! Dr. Zaiff is the best podiatrist as well as his assistant Jackie. They were both very nice and comforting. I had to have foot surgery and they both put me at ease. I had little pain after the surgery and my foot is healing very well and very fast. Dr. Zaiff is there for any concerns I might have and he is very warm and passionate. Dr. Zaiff was recommended to me by a neighbor who sang his praises. Now I'm thinking he'll do everybody on our floor! I have been surprised by how little pain I've had from a bunionectomy and have been touched by his concern and generosity and impressed by his surgical skills. His assistant Jackie is also a gem. it's been 10 months since surgery and without any p/t or special exercises, my post-op foot is great...i bike, run and play tennis like nothing ever happened. as I go hiking in the catskills this and other weekends, I am so thankful.... dr zaiff is the best...i write this for anyone like me who was petrified to have foot surgery...the recovery isn't easy but it goes quickly and then you are better than before...and a good dr is imperative. ... read more
