To my surprise there was minimal swelling and bruising and even better is that Dr Zaiff doesn't like stitches!

This review is for Dr. Evans and his staff -…read more I visited Dr. Evans because I was limping around with foot/ heel pain for the past 3 months. I couldn't take it anymore and realized it was getting worse so I said screw it - time to go to the doctor. First off, the ladies in the front office area are such sweethearts, very pleasant and are welcoming. Dr. Evans is pleasant himself and actually had a soft but witty personality. So I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and a heel spur (greeaattt). He rendered his plan of action, told me to come back in 2 weeks and sent me home with "at-home" things to follow. 2 weeks later the pain was a little lessened and sporadic instead of everyday. I was honest that I didn't follow his at-home regimen the way I should have and he gave me the suggestion/ option to get a cortisone shot. I agreed to move forward if it was going to help me....3 minutes later he was back in the office prepping me for the shot in my heel. I took a deep breath, and although he was trying his best to be gentle - that thing HURT LIKE HELL!!! 2 days later - I was able to walk normally again, hop out of bed in the morning, run up and down the steps and dancing like Ginger Rogers :-) !!! So I returned 2 more weeks after that and still have not suffered the debilitating pain and really hope it doesn't return!! If it does - of course I will be more than happy to see Dr. Evans and his team again.

Two part review: one part for Dr. Evans himself and one for the office staff…read more Office Staff: One of the front desk staff is nice, the rest are queens of curtness and incompetence. One might think that helping others is a precondition to working in the health field, but not these ladies. For example, I can forgive the office manager her perpetually sour expression and maybe even her harsh way of speaking to patients. Harder to swallow is that she doesn't know how to handle billing. She tells you your insurance doesn't cover something, then you call your company and find out it does in fact cover the treatment but that the office submitted the wrong diagnostic code. You call the office manager back to give her the correct code and she acts defensive. Ultimately you have to call the doctor in and he quickly sorts everything out. She has a talent for making everything unpleasant and take longer then it needs to. I won't be going back as long as she works there. Dr. Evans: An affable if somewhat distracted guy. He glides in and out of the exam room pretty quickly so have your questions ready. Four stars for him if not for the train wreck of an office manager.

She listens carefully and provides thoughtful recommendations. She is efficient, but never made me feel rushed. She seems to sincerely enjoy her work and brings a wonderful positive energy into the room. I saw the same nurse for both appointments as well and I appreciated that continuity. I hate that I don't know the nurse's name, as she was also lovely! The check-in was quick, front desk was polite and helpful, and there was hardly any wait time for either appointment. I highly recommend!

However, the issue continued to grow and became more painful. A dermatologist later diagnosed it as a plantar wart and began treatment. When I attempted to follow up with the podiatrist, I was told by the office (on the day of my appointment) not to come in and to instead see my primary care doctor. My primary care doctor also examined it and agreed that it appeared to be a plantar wart and proceeded with treatment, and was confused why podiatry would not evaluate it. I was surprised by the lack of reassessment and the decision not to evaluate an ongoing and painful foot condition. I would have appreciated a more thorough follow-up or willingness to reconsider the diagnosis.

I asked the receptionist how long a wait there would be (as I had a painful foot issue) and after checking she said about 45 minutes. I couldn't imagine standing in a hot waiting room for that amount of time. The very nice gentleman in the wheelchair offered to try to maneuver his wheelchair so I could get to the blocked seat. Anyhow, when I decided to leave I was asked if I wanted to reschedule??? What? I was scheduled. Don't schedule so many appointments near the same time to try to avoid this issue. At least offer me some room to sit in instead of having me stand for a long amount of time. I did like the doctor, but it is not worth it if I have to stand in a hot room for with an aching foot/ankle.

The receptionist was SUPER friendly and nice (though I think the office manager was out sick that day...so not sure who was there, but it was the same person that took my blood), and I got to see the doctor within 20 minutes of being there. Dr. Isaacson makes you feel really comfortable and makes sure that all of your concerns are addressed. He also keeps the conversation light, so you kind of forget about being nervous :) When they took my blood, it was also super fast and painless, even though I don't have the easiest veins haha (props to the nurse!). There was no fuss about how much my copay was, which was a relief! Glad they took the time to really check out my insurance and make sure everything was OK.

He listens to your concerns and makes sure you don't leave until all your questions have been answered. This was my first time visiting a Podiatrist and I couldn't have asked for a better visit (except for me showing up late due to train problems that they were super nice about!) I work in Grand Central so with a combination of unsupportive sneakers and hard marble floors, I developed constant foot pain. During my visit, I found out it was plantar fasciitis. Dr. Collins explained to me what the disorder was and went over several options to treat it. After a cortisone shot, a split and some more knowledge on helpful morning and evening exercises for my foot, I felt confident leaving the office and knowing I won't have to struggle with foot pain much longer. Dr. Collins also ordered my customized shoe sole inserts for my shoes. These arrived in a couple weeks and I went back to the office for a follow up visit.
