There was a major lack of hospitality, which is a very big issue when you're in the hospitality business. It started with the greeting, or should I say, lack of greeting at checkin. They asked my name, looked me up, assigned my room, and sent us on our way. The greeting I'm used to is being called by my name & being thanked for being an elite member. Who doesn't like that little extra effort/ acknowledgment? Then we arrived at our room and saw the extra pillows requested on my reservation were not there. Again, a little thing, but they add up. The room itself was ok. It was a suite so it had the extra seating area which I like. The best thing about the stay was the bed. It was super comfortable! Unfortunately there was an expressway outside our window which made it difficult to sleep at night. The breakfast was at best 'ok'. The set up of the room was strange, with the area for making waffles and getting the other hot foods in a tiny triangle shaped area that couldn't hold more than 2 people comfortably. Wish I had taken a picture. On our 2nd and final morning there, the girl working in this area never got off her phone. She didn't put it down even when people needed her assistance. Were they all bothering her? Checkout was similar to checkin, except the girl working there never even looked up and just nodded her head when I set my key on the counter. Again, a little hospitality goes a long way. Also, the bathroom floor was sticky, and the pool was super cloudy the whole time we were there So we didn't even attempt using it. This is a low end hotel. Don't expect a palace…read more Of course everyone wants a clean, nice smelling room, but that is pretty much all anyone can expect here. I am lucky because whenever I come to one of these hotels they give me their best room or the most recently renovated room. This is part of a major chain, Wyndham, so they have some resources. Their problem is that they are in a rural part of Western Pennsylvania, so it is difficult to find good employees. They passed me a flyer saying that they are low on house keeping staff. My room has a refrigerator, microwave and A/C unit, but everything is kind of need maintenance. My TV frozen during the middle of the night and the morning, and is working in the afternoon. The refrigerator is only mildly cool. The A/C unit is suck in auto mode...no adjustments can be made.... I am ok with the room since I am only paying $70 per night. I talked to an experienced AAA agent that does trip planning. Particularly no hotel in America is less than $100 per night, which is not bad since no hotel in NYC is under $300 per night. Traveling is expensive in America. Ray out.

I can't say I found a live bed bug, but I did find evidence of their presence, mainly bed bug droppings and a carcass of a bed bug. I didn't want to stay any longer, so we went to the front desk, to either put in another room, or a refund. The manager just left, but the clerk was able to get her on the phone, the clerk ask me to send the pictures to the hotel e-mail. At no time did the manager ever speak to us directly, on how to proceed. We left the hotel, and found a clean hotel to stay at. 3 days later, the manager sent a text, saying that a pest control company, cam in and found no bed bugs. We contacted Wyndham directly, and they never gave a response. Now you can judge our Bed Bug pictures, and ask yourself, would you stay here?

The only reason I am giving them two stars instead of one is that the young lady who checked us in the night of 11/10/2014 (long dark hair worn up) was very professional and polite. She changed our non-smoking room, which smelled of cigarette smoke out for a different non-smoking room, which just smelled musty.

I understand precautions must be taken during Covid but there is no reason, for example, not to provide individual cereal options with a carton of milk. That can be done safely. Other hotels I stayed in on this trip did do it. Hotels should not use Covid as an excuse to cut down on service that can be provided safely and guests should not have to scour the area to find a decent breakfast to start the day.

Deceptive "EV Charging," Hidden Fees, and Unprofessional Management…read more I booked my stay at the Red Roof Inn in New Stanton specifically because they advertised having an electric car charging station. Unfortunately, this amenity is incredibly misleading and borders on a total scam. First of all, there is no actual charging station. It is literally just a standard wall outlet. There is no cord provided, so if you happen to leave your charging cable at home, you are completely out of luck. To make matters even more frustrating, the hotel manager actively parks their own vehicle right in the single spot where the outlet is located, making it completely inaccessible to guests. The biggest shock was discovering that they actually charge a fee just to plug in. This was not properly disclosed upfront. I have stayed at countless hotels across the country, and I have never once encountered a property that charges a paying guest to charge their vehicle. It is standard industry practice everywhere else to provide this amenity for free. When I tried to address this ridiculous plug-in situation, the hotel manager was entirely unprofessional, rude, and immediately defensive. The bizarre way the matter was handled made it feel like this undisclosed "fee" was simply for the manager's personal benefit rather than a legitimate hotel policy. If you drive an EV--or if you just expect transparent amenities and basic customer service--do yourself a favor and book a room somewhere else.

The bathroom was well lit and had a nice big sink; hot water was instantly. Overall everything in the room, heat and fridge, worked well. WIFI worked too. Iron and iron board easily accessible. Breakfast was good too(see photos) they even had REAL yogurt a rarity at a Choice brand hotel. Overall a very pleasant stay and certainly will keep this place in mind if I pass through the area again needing a stay for an overnight.
