On friday the 12th of november me and my partner went out in Carlisle and had an exellent nite. We returned on the bus to Brampton and decide to have a last drink in the Howard before heading home. We arrived at the pub around 23.30 and one of the owners was seatted in the restaurant with some friends or residents and i asked if we were still ok for a drink. ( I go there occacionally for a drink at lunchtime so he reconised us) He replied ofcourse no problem. I ordered a pint of tarnmonath and my partner had Cold fell. Both local real ales. After a few sips by both of us we deside that the tarnmonath wasn't right at all although the cold fell was stop on. ( we are both keen Camra members so we know our beers although we don't usually argue and just grink our pints anyway). But this just wasn't right. Maybe a queit nite or end of barrel who knows. So i went to the bar to get my pint replaced. The owner was already at the bar so i told him what was up and he just said What? So i told him again only to get the same reply.... Has he gone deaf... No he just pretended i was really drunk or something and he couldn't understand what i was trying to say. So again i explained what the problem was and he replied... theres nothing wrong with the beer at all. ( He never even tried it so how he knows theres nothing wrong with it i don't know) Your not getting anything else at all and we are closed know anyway.....
But only not even 5 mins ago we were ok to have a drink????
No explanation no new pint no money back???? and he disapeared from the bar. these 2 pints just cost me £5.40 or something THATS NEARLY AN HOURS WORK.
I was fuming and left the bar and my partner who quickly finished her pint in seconds.
So much for customer service and i still don't know why i didn't get a new pint.
