How The Foccacia Are You? Is a kiosk type cafe located at the tram station on Port Rd across from the entertainment centre.
This morning I skipped breakfast at home as I slept in so I opted to grab something from here before jumping on the tram.
I was hoping for a croissant which they didn't have so I settled on a ham, cheese and tomato toastie. The toastie was a little on the blonde side for me, but the fillings were quite nice and the ham was cut thick which I like. I also found it odd that they were using one griddle plate and one flat plate in their sandwich press. I'm unsure if they offer other bread types as I wasn't offered any selection and my toastie was on white bread. It would have been much better if they let it toast longer.
This place definitely has a school tuck shop vibe about it. And they have a chalkboard out the front with coffee/cafe related puns.
They do lapinas and sandwiches and have a pie warmer with the usual suspects.
I also ordered a latte. Full fat milk. They use Pauls. The beans are Romaza which is an Italian style roast. So dark and bitter. Similar to Lavazza or Vittoria. It was served with a little cookie too.
I'm sure I eat here again as it is so conveniently located. Next time I would definitely give more direction on how I would like my toastie served. read more
