Jill is such a wonderful teacher and my daughter looks forward to class every week. We knew very early on (barely a few months old) that our daughter responds really well to music as all babies do. She especially loved any live music when we were around it, and here was the opportunity for her to have her own personal musical concert every week! She is enthralled by Jill's voice, and her eyes follow her around the room wherever she goes. Jill has a special way with babies and is able to draw them out and give each student special one on one attention. I can't say enough great things about Musik-Go-Round. The songs, dances, and movements have become an integral part of our weekly routine and we always look forward to sharing that time with Jill and the other babies! It's a stimulating experience for the babies without being overly stimulating. Spending that time together has become a relaxing time and I always enjoy watching her reactions.

Unannounced cancellations - you go to their location at the usual lesson time, and you find the location locked with nobody there. You call and call - nobody answers. Nobody at the front office to help you schedule things. And yes - don't leave your autopay information in their system. I got charged an extra month's feee, and I only noticed because I checked a few months later. Apparently it was a "glitch". Anyway - a lot of the problems seem to be coming from a bad business model where they exploit their teachers, don't ay their staff, overcharge customers, cancel lessons, etc. Too much drama and my child is not getting a good musical education here. I'm ending my relationship with this company.

I looked around and this place seemed good so I called for information and got a call back super quick. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful... and optimistic. Haha... The place is tucked in a neighborhood down a small street, but it has a private parking lot. There are 4 lessons a month billed monthly. I wasn't sure what to expect with my daughter being the unknown variable because of her age, but the teacher was professional and nice. However, my nugget stopped being excited as soon as she learned she couldn't just "play" freestyle and had to listen to an adult. So, even though kids as young as 4 can start one-on-one lessons... it's up to the individual. Definitely not for mine. We decided to stay but switched over to a group music class geared for toddlers - they have 2, one for 3 and the other for 4 year olds where they learn music basics while having fun. They let us take free trial classes of both until we could decide. My nugget's in the 3 year old one because she never had classroom experience before and she seems to enjoy it - definitely more than the one-on-one lesson, for sure. If she's still interested in a few years, we'll revisit piano but for now, the group lessons are good. The classes are not exactly "cheap", but it is as expected. The teachers are all knowledgeable and engaging, though I feel bad sometimes. My nugget is free spirited and... wild if she's in the mood. The group classes have gotten larger, which is noticeable since they're in a small room, but attendance fluctuates. So far, it isn't a huge cause for concern - what with the pandemic and all. Overall, I will definitely look here for music lesson needs and we are pretty happy so far.

Both of my kids (ages 7 and 9) absolutely loved the camp with Mr. Sal. He is incredible with children, engaging, funny, and truly passionate about fostering a genuine love for music. They learned far more than I expected in such a short time, and the weekly recitals were a highlight, giving parents the chance to hear the kids play and sing. It's easily one of the best summer camps in Bellaire. The experience inspired both of my kids to continue their musical journey. My 7 year old now takes piano lessons with Mr. Sal, while my 9 year old studies with Mr. Roscoe. She's currently in high school and we utilize them to keep her competitive with her peers. That said, commitment is crucial to see a difference. My son has had a bit of a hard time with reading comprehension. We saw a big difference in his grades after a few months at sylvan. He wasn't always eager to go but understood it was crucial to be able to keep up with his GT program. We are very pleased and could not have made a better investment.

This assessment finds every strength and weakness of your child. When we started going over it together, there were ones that were definitely questionably written. But they do this on purpose to try to get you to sign up (which I get). My son attended Sylvan for 4 months, and we had multiple incidents with the tutors (former teachers). They were unprofessional. When there was a problem addressed, we brought it up to the owner who assured us he would address it with his teacher, and there was a clear disconnection in communication with the two. The next week we found out she was gone, and there was another teacher. She didn't seem too much better. At drop off I came to pick up my son, and used the bathroom and I noticed the trash overflowing... When my son did not progress in reading, they recommended we come for longer, and more days a week. We already were coming 1 hour 3 times a week. He was clearly exhausted. We brought some of his homework in, and the teacher erased all the answers that he had done and made him start from the beginning (this is after we had worked with him on his homework for 2 hours prior). Bottom line, don't waste your money here.
