I made an appointment in June or July in preparation for another colonoscopy this year. The earliest date available was the end of August. Less than 48 hours before my appointment I received a phone call from someone that said they were having trouble verifying my insurance. My insurance hasn't changed. However, she then told me that the practice no longer accepts Medicare. I don't know if it was my Medicare plan or all Medicare plans. She didn't offer any further explanation, just told me that I couldn't see the doctor. I asked about paying out of pocket, and she just said, 'No'. The doctor is great! I know she's been with this practice for a long time. In my case they had all of my insurance information since the last colonoscopy, nothing had changed. I received no less than five robocalls informing me that I was due for a colon screening this year. If they were no longer accepting my insurance plan, I should not have been able to even schedule an appointment. The only contact I should have received was an alert informing me that my insurance was no longer being accepted by the practice. Now I'm left to 'shop' for a gastro-doc. Not happy.

He is unashamedly money hungry, wanting to do a colonoscopy every year. I mentioned that I was still taking indigo for my UC when we were already out in the hallway. He laughed at me and asked the doctor who was standing next to him if he ever heard about it. It's the best medication I've used so far and I don't even have to go through other people to get it. I had a great gastroenterologist not long before him, unfortunately for me he retired. After one of my colonoscopies, they sent a bill for $800 for labs for the polyps. After a million calls to them, one of the staff talked about it on the phone with me and said that next time, I need to tell them at the clinic to only use providers that are covered by my insurance. Be ready for 3 bills in addition to the $1000 that you have to pay upfront for each colonoscopy. I switched to a doctor who does their colonoscopies at Memorial Endoscopy Center. The total for everything ended up being like $1500 with them. With Khandawalla, I had to pay $2200. I did see Dr. Thompson first but only went to him once because he was rude and not at all delicate about my prognosis. That was hands down the worst bedside manner I've ever received. But Khandawalla was pretty rude and annoying too. The front desk staff care more about the socializing they are doing with each other than about talking to patients. They are stiff necked while interacting with patients.

Business cards and brochures on other medically involved issues that they can help treat, including mental disorders( in house psychiatric office) All insurance seems to be accepted, even state and government aid. My nurse and doctor will ask questions to really get to the root of any concern, and from the looks of it, they are not truly out to feed the pharmacies unless it needs to happen. That helps me build a huge amount of trust in their approach. There are posters and information on nutrient deficiency and treatment options. If you have not yet heard on treatment via nutrient therapy.. do some research. Totally worth it. Parking is ample, but you will miss the entrance if you blink! Find "newks" restaurant. The medical building is BEHIND that one. There should be a small almost invisible sign between two entrance ways. If you passed Best Buy, you've gone way too far. Think small drive way that belongs in small neighborhood lol.
