Originally brought my car in because of a transmission issue so they replaced that which was under my warranty and everything was fine. I went home , the next day the radiator blew on me. I mean it was leaking from every possible place. N reservoir was not leaking. It was an actual radiator and nothing was wrong with it when I brought it in to get the transmission worked on and they looked over the car to make sure that that's all that needed to be fixed and then that happens the next day. Well, my warranty had expired so I could not bring it back there without purchasing a new one or paying cash and that that's going to cost some $$$$. Maybe it was because I was a young female. Very expensive I was charged 386 for a diagnostic test and over 10k for transmission and struts/ brakes. They also kept my car from Friday till Monday didn't call me on Friday or Saturday to tell me they were keeping my car. I had to inquire. read more

My car was acting up I took it in they serviced my brakes I drove it around a couple days and the brakes felt like I just smashed my foot through a light wood floor so I took it back in and they replaced it with OEM parts no charge because of the parts previously were warrantied. I brought my car in because of an oil pressure warning light. They tested the oil pump and told me it needed to be replaced. When I spoke directly to the tech, he said the oil pump was within operational specs, just slightly below optimal. Despite that, Scott at the front desk strongly recommended replacing it to avoid engine damage and quoted me $1,200 and 4 hours of labor. I told him I needed the car for work, and he promised it would be ready the next day (5/6/25). Eight days later (5/13/25), Scott called and said the oil pump had been replaced, but the warning light was still on. He now claimed the issue was with the instrument cluster and offered to install a used one. On 5/22/25, he called again saying they were still working on it and asked me to pay for the oil pump job early so they could meet payroll. I agreed and paid $1,310.49. Then on 7/8/25, Scott called and said a used instrument cluster couldn't be programmed for Volkswagens, and I'd need to buy a new one for $1,500. I said I couldn't afford that and would come pick up the car on Friday. When I showed up on 7/11/25, they gave me a different invoice showing $1,254.17--$65 less than what I paid. I started the car and saw even more warning lights flashing. I went back in, and Scott said they probably forgot to hook something up. He told me to bring it back Monday and that it was safe to drive. I it brought back in and the owner Paul Houseright was unwilling to fix the issues they caused. I highly recommend not taking any vechilce to this establishment So in summary: - I brought my car in for a warning light. - They misdiagnosed the issue and replaced a working oil pump. - I've spent $1,310.49 on a repair I didn't need. - I had to use Lyft for 48 days at $36/day--costing me about $1,700. - Now I'm $3,000 in, and the original warning light is still on--with more warning lights than before. read more

I was referred to Houseright & Sons from a friend. This is why I chose to go to this company. October - I spent $4,192.04 for transmission filter, vacuum pump, tie rods, balljoints, crankshaft seal, gasket and replaced fuel pump on a 1995 Ford truck. Now, fast forward to December, the 1995 Ford truck stalls on the freeway. I had to get it towed to the house and had a friend look at it - to determine it was fuel pump that failed. I had the 1995 Ford truck towed (from Mesa to Florence) to Houseright & Sons (not cheap). Come to find out, through various conversations with mechanically inclined friends, when a fuel pump is replaced - you should also have the fuel filter and housing assemble replaced at the same time. In hindsight, this should have been done in the first place back in October. The next issue, I was provided an invoice for $2171. When I go to pay and pick up the truck - the cost was an additional $100. For total of $2,271. I was informed of the price increase. I did email and question why the difference. I was informed it was for a part that was needed. When I take my vehicle to the dealership, they inform me and send me a notification for approval. This was not the case here. The staff have always been kind and courteous. But as an uninformed consumer of mechanical issues - I feel that Houseright & Sons fell short of aiding the consumer and more taking advantage of a uneducated mechanical consumer I will be taking the 1995 Ford diesel truck to another company for future repairs that are not covered by the warranty work they provide. Several people I know go to this garage for car repair. I recently acquired a car to help a friend. I brought it to my regular mechanic to do a complete fine tooth comb once over to find out what and if there was any serious mechanical issues. I wanted this car to be safe and problem free for my elderly friend. My regular garage found a few things and actually I thought that I got off easy. Well, the car kept making front end noises that were very disconcerting so I took it to a brake place close to my house. They found significant issues in the front end. Now I wasn't sure what to believe so I wanted to get a second opinion. I brought it to Houseright and Sons. They confirmed all of the front end problems but Houseright was nearly $500 cheaper in their cost estimate. Every employee I dealt with was friendly and thoughtful. Their inspection was top-notch. I got a full print out and it was one of the most thorough inspections. I think I've ever had done on a car. They checked all of my lights, my windshield wiper fluid. They even caught that my turn signal did not automatically shut off which I had forgotten to mention. They even helped me find a place where I could buy a replacement donut wheel for the trunk. Today I'm getting the car detailed and I'm so excited to give my friend a truly well oiled machine. Lol frankly, I'm so impressed with Houseright and Sons that they will be my new mechanic from now on. read more

These guys are the real deal! Paul is fantastic at what he does. Accommodating on short notice, high quality work. I went in thinking I had a lifter knock and he quickly diagnosed it properly. Turns out it was the timing belt tensioner making noise. He found a few other issues that he gave me a great deal on because the car was already torn up. My car runs like it's brand new. In the past, when Ive picked up my car from other mechanics, they always seem to be either worse off or not fixed. He will trouble shoot affordable solutions with you to get you back on the road quickly. I am so happy I found them and that they are out by me!!! Decided to take a chance on these guys and I'm glad I did. My job called for 2.5 hours labor but they only charged me for 1.5 because they were able to do it in that amount of time. Most places wouldn't do that. Didn't gouge me on the price of parts either. Courteous, quick and clean. No pressure to fix a million other things your car may or may not need. Their location really sucks, but if you are in the Florence-Coolidge-Santan area it's worth the drive. read more
