Tamie at HousePaws Austin is a godsend! She is very patient and experienced. Her and Melissa did such a great job with our 2 furr babies, as well as our new kitten addition. We hired them for Petyr, (new kitten) wellness check, as well as Fanger and Sooki (2 adult cats) wellness checkups plus rabies updates. Tamie suggested starting the booster shots for the kitten, which we added for his safety. Totally worth it. Everything went as per usual. But my longest owned cat has some difficulty. We will get his shot on the next visit. Tamie is a plethora of information, detailed and so very kind. I am so happy we hired HousePaws of Austin. Cannot wait to see them for the next booster for Petyr and get Fanger squared away. 100% happy with my decision hiring Tamie, this vist would have been 50 times worse at the vet clinic. I cannot say enough positive words about this company! read more

HousePaws Austin - Tamie & Melissa with Petyr for his wellness check! And BONUS we got to see the mobile vet sprinter!!! - Veterinarians Near Me

A neighbor organized a group meeting as this was our first mobile VET experience and we didn't know what to expect and I had the first appointment of day. Summary, highly recommend this service and encourage you to give it a try for your VET needs. Dr Hunt was great. Her mobile van is awesome and state of the art. She was able to perform routine blood work, order prescriptions, give shots, did the routine annual exam on site. My Great Danes are usually nervous about VET visits but she left the door open and they sat down and were relaxed and well behaved; mostly due to the comforting atmosphere and skill with the animals by the staff. Dr Hunt gave all the requested services, advised me on some new considerations that are relevant to the area, we recently moved from Kansas, and we finished everything up with treats for the Danes. She followed up the visit with an email providing additional details about some basic care and concerns for the animals and a personal thank you. Very professional and courteous and we plan to use this service and VET team in the future. I recommend you all utilize her and recommend to friends. read more

Great team! My dog is a hurricane Harvey rescue from APA and could not handle the vet visits there or at another vet even with tranquilizers + anit-anxiety pills. I have had HousePaws taking care of my guys's vaccinations and check ups for the last year and a half. They are always on time, are very courteous when entering/exiting, and they are very patient with my nervous dog. After a couple of visits he has warmed up to them and shots/taking blood are much easier. The visit fee is worth the convenience. If you have a pet that is tough to get to the vet or does not handle the vet well, try it in the comfort of your own home and call HousePaws Austin! read more

My cat is a big fluffy ball of "HUMAN! Don't even think about putting me in that ^&#$*%^ cat carrier!". He means business. Ahem, I (the human) would prefer not to look like a shredded cartoon character, or be demoted as 'chief ear-scratcher'. Dr. Hunt and Melissa came to my home and took care of my beloved kitty's yearly exam. They masterfully approached my skeptical feline with calmness, precision and treats. My persnickety pal was gently, yet well, wrangled. The whole thing went great! He got examined, inoculated, and endured a weapons confiscation (AKA claw trim). All with no dreaded car ride or ^&#$*%^ item that shall not be named. Meeeouww! This team clearly understands, cares and likes cats! I could not be happier! I got to check out the mobile clinic too - it is awesome! I would heartily recommend HousePaws for your furbaby care! (In case you are wondering - not only did he NOT shred me, but I was back in his good graces within the afternoon! Whew!) =^.^= read more

Updating my 5 star review from a year ago... I've used HousePaws probably a dozen times over the last year and a half or so now for my 2 cats and puppy. If there was such a thing as 100 stars on Yelp, HousePaws would get it! Dr. Hunt truly is an animal whisperer and cares so much for them. Any visit has been going above and beyond and great service, super professional. They are always punctual, very communicative and beyond helpful! It's so convenient to get all of their nails trimmed also while they're here instead of having to try doing it myself and risk hurting my babies. HousePaws- y'all are truly life changing!!! read more

Taking your pet to the vet can be very stressful, and to our cats are very shy. So HousePaws Austin made things so much easier. Very friendly veterinarians that travel to your house and see your pet in your house. This went so well other than having to find one of my cats that can hide like no other. And the price range was incredibly affordable. Very professional great service at a great price. I cannot say enough good things about these people and their service. Thank you so much. read more

I will never take my cats to a brick and mortar veterinarian again! My cats always get really agitated when they have to go for a car ride (I don't know why, they are just that way). So by the time they get to the veterinarian's office they are already agitated and scared; then the smells of all the other animals and being held down by strangers makes everything worse. HousePaws Austin is THE solution! I scheduled an appointment with HousePaws so that my cats could get a routine examination (it's been a couple of years). Tamie and Melissa came to my apartment, hung out for about 10 minutes letting the cats get adjusted to them, then started the examinations. Of course my cats got a little irritated getting shots, but because they were in the comfort of their own home with Tammie and Melissa, who had taken the time to let the cats get adjusted to them, my cats were back to their normal, cuddly selves within 5 minutes. HousePaws Austin's fees are very fair and competitive! Especially since, I don't have to block out a lot of time out of my day, wrangle cats into their cages, drive (usually in traffic) to the veterinarian's office, sit in the waiting room, wait to be examined, then put two pissed off cats back in their cages, and drive home. Instead, HousePaws came to me, examined my cats, and finished all in under 45 minutes! Best of all, Tamie and Melissa are kind, courteous, and very professional! I highly recommend this service to everyone, not just persons with difficult pets. With the time and money I saved on not having to drive or waste gas, this service is well worth paying for. Thank you HousePaws! read more

What a wonderful service! My husband I have been taking care of a feral cat for 17 years now and she finally got tame enough to come inside and let us touch her. I called HousePaws to come by and give her the first vet visit of her life (well, aside from the time we trapped and had her spayed 17 years ago). They found she had a dramatically elevated thyroid, which they had suspected, and they prescribed an affordable medication that she now takes. Our cat was understandably skittish and wary having been feral for so long, but HousePaws did a fantastic job calming her and taking the blood draw. I'm so happy they are here to provide our cat the care she needs. read more

Dr. Tamie Hunt and Judy came out to our house for an overdue check-up for our 14 year old kitty. Our cat is a super sensitive little guy, but they were so sweet and patient with him. Dr. Hunt spent a lot of time discussing her results with us and had many suggestions. She also made herself available for follow-up questions, since our cat wasn't cooperative for labs. I highly recommend her, especially for those with sensitive animals that don't do well at the vet. read more

Omg!! These lovely ladies saved my life. I have 2 crazy cats that needed rabies vaccination. No matter what I could not get them into carriers to take to the vet. Then stopping at a shop by my house I see their van in the parking lot. After a brief conversation they finished their previous appointment. Came to my house. Corralled my unruly cats. Examined them, trimmed nails and gave them vaccines. We were all laughing the whole time. Such super nice women that love animals and are worth every penny. I highly recommend read more

Thank you Tammy for taking care of Katie during a crazy time. This vet . is the most amazing woman. I have quarterly appointments due to a health issue with my cat. She normally comes into my home to treat her and we could not this time because of covid19. She had a plan to get my skittish cat to the van and treat her. I was very nervous as my cat has never been out of the house. I was amazed how she accomplished this and took care of my Katie Kat. She is awesome and am so glad she is here for us. D read more

We've been Tamie for a few months now and could not be more grateful for her kindness and expertise. She's truly fantastic and has helped us through some tough times with our old cat who hates vet visits and does so much better seeing someone at home. I truly can not recommend her enough. She's enabled us to keep our two cats healthy without having to stress them out by taking them to the vet! She's so thoughtful- we just feel really grateful to have found her!!! read more

I can't tell you how happy I am to have found Tamie Hunt with Housepaws. They have gone above and beyond on service. I was previously taking my older cat into Manchaca Road Animal Hospital, which is a fine facility. But between the car ride, and the other animals, by the time it came for his examination he was a nervous wreck. Not having to leave the house with him makes a world of difference. And it's not just the fact that everything happens at my home, Tamie is just amazing when it comes to following up, and getting me supplies, and everything else that goes along with care of an older pet. read more

Dr. Hunt and Judy came out today to help me help my lil orange dude, Milo. I love Dr. Hunt! It was my first time with HousePaws and she really took her time to answer all my questions (I had a lot - Milo is a complicat) and get a good plan to move forward. She explained his previous lab results more completely than they've ever been explained to me before and now I actually know what to look for, which is very important with a senior kitty with health issues. This is the first time in weeks that I feel really good about things and that my cat's doctor has a handle on where things are and what the next steps will be. She had explained her fees to me in advance, and they were super reasonable. As I was writing out the check I was saying, Well that's clearly not enough, can I tip you? And then I felt like a moron because you don't tip your doctor. She even showed me her seriously cool mobile vet office/lab and I'm pretty sure she can ride out the zombie apocalypse in that thing while curing animals. It has lasers to help animals with arthritis and all kinds of amazing things. You should totally call HousePaws. Your lil dudes will be happy and so will you. read more

This was by far the easiest and best vet experience I have ever had. I have several animals, both dogs and cats, and Dr. Hunt was amazing. One of my dogs was having some unexplained issues, and Dr. Hunt was thorough and took time to figure out what was wrong. I have 2 dogs who normally have to be muzzled at the vet, and they both made it through the entire exam/shots without a problem (and no muzzle). I highly recommend HousePaws! read more

Tamie and her assistant Judy offered me kindness and compassion on one of the saddest days of my life, when I had to put my beloved 14-year--old cat Tommy to sleep. Although I was their last appointment of the day, they were patient and kind. I didn't feel rushed during Tommy's final moments, and they answered all my questions and explained everything they were doing. Thanks to House Paws, Tommy was able spend his final moments in my arms in the comfort of our home. The experience was a profound and loving one. I will always miss my dear friend Tommy, but the women from House Paws offered me kindness and gentleness during a difficult time. Thank you, Tamie and Judy, for treating Tommy with kindness and dignity during his final moments. I will never forget how much you helped him (and me) that day. read more

I could not be happier with House Paws! My 14 year old cantankerous kitty does NOT like getting in a crate and riding in the car. The vet and assistant arrived promptly, answered ALL my questions, even called the old vet to get my cat's latest lab results. Oh, and they did an ultrasound on my kitty right in my living room! As soon as it was over, my cat went right back to playing and was happy as could be. So, super convenient, low stress, they know their stuff, and prices are reasonable. Win-Win! read more

My three Chihuahua mix rescues love Dr. Hunt and Melissa, as do I. They are punctual, thorough, and friendly. My dogs get 100% attention, and I come away with more helpful information and clarity. I would highly recommend this stress-free and very convenient alternative for quality services. read more

Our 17-year-old cat wasn't doing so hot when we got in contact with Tamie Hunt at HousePaws. She and Melissa provided great care: so gentle with our guy, and gave a detailed rundown of different causes of his ailment and what our options were. And she was incredibly patient when one of our kittens jumped on her shoulder and proceeded to stay there for much of the exam! She followed up with us twice via email and phone, checking in our our cat and offering suggestions. You can tell she really cares about her clients; going above and beyond not just with the pets, but also making sure the parents are at ease. I cannot speak highly enough of her and Housepaws! read more

Our dog usually HATES going to the vet; a cower-in-the-corner kind of hate. HousePaws was so great with her that by the end of it she was happy as a clam and didn't want to leave. They really know what they are doing, both from a veterinary perspective, and from a pet-handling perspective. They treated her like she was their own and were absolute gems to work with. They also did not push for extra things she did not really need, as we have had vets do in the past. Additionally, their bill came in lower than we have paid for annual vet visits in the past and I didn't even have to sit in a minute of Austin traffic! We would HIGHLY recommend HousePaws to anyone looking for a new vet! read more

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Hunt and Melissa. We adopted a 10 year old rescue with arthritis and mobility issues. It is so convenient to have them come to our house. The cold laser treatments on her arthritis have made a huge difference to her comfort and mobility. They make it a point to contact me if an emergency comes up and they will be a few minutes late. Dr. Hunt is very accessible and willing to answer any questions I have. Highly recommended! read more

Dr Hunt and her team are amazing. They take the time to settle the animal and care for them top-to-bottom in the gentlest way. Our 100lb pit mix frightens people AND he has a fear of strangers. Dr Hunt was able to calm him and administer shots with just a cone around his head. His usual vet requires him to come in completely sedated. I can't tell you the difference this service makes when it comes to reducing our anxiety and frustration. read more

My husband's cat has recurring pancreatitis as well as a severe dislike of car rides and going to the vet, which makes a mobile vet a must. I sent an email last night and Dr Hunt and Melissa got me in first thing this morning, which I really appreciated because mobile vets can be booked up weeks in advance. They were prompt and had everything on hand. They were patient with Bigs and very reassuring in his bad condition. They took bloodwork and had results in only a few minutes, and they were able to give him fluids and other medicines he needed. Tamie and Melissa have a wonderful 'bedside' manner, they walked me through all our options, explaining medications and tests, both for treatment and future prevention. Their pricing was really affordable, particularly given how incredibly convenient the visit was. Could not recommend more! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hunt and Melissa. I have a formerly feral cat who is very willing to scratch me to shreds rather than get in a carrier, let alone visit a vet. I was in desperate need of help as our family prepared to fly from Austin to Washington state with our two cats which would include removal from their carriers at the security checkpoint. I couldn't help but envision all the ways this could go wrong. Dr. Hunt was ready and willing to discuss the situation with me right from the start and was very knowledgeable and kind. She made an initial visit and then not only came over the night before our flight to administer the sedative, but again early in the morning the day we flew out to give the cats their second dose and to put them in their harnesses and carriers. She was punctual, efficient, effective as well as kind and reassuring the whole time. I don't know what I would have done without her. My feral feline made it through security without a hitch! If you're in search of a fantastic mobile vet who you can confidently trust with your pet and who has very reasonably prices, I highly recommend HousePaws! read more

Our lab mix could not get up 5 days ago. After a late night at the emergency vet we called Dr Hunt and she was able to come the next day. She said that he had a disk in his spine injured. She did a laser treatment and decided to do acupuncture as well. After she was done he looked much better but still could not get up on his own. The next day he was moving around much more. This morning he got off his bed and walked into the living room and wanted outside. Dr Hunt came today and did the same treatments and we got him up to go out front and he took off running ( kind of) from me. Amazing results and an amazing vet, very caring and reasonably priced. I cant recommend enough. read more

Dr. Hunt was great! My cat Jax absolutely hates going outside, let alone ride in a car and go to a vet. I hired her to come out and give him an exam and prescribe him medication for a cross-country car ride and she was extremely patient. I highly recommend hiring Dr. Hunt -- it made my life (and my kitty's) a lot easier! read more

I'm super impressed and highly recommend HousePaws Austin to everyone in the area! Our two dogs haven't been to the vet for a while largely due to our dog Jedi's intense anxiety. Today, HousePaws Austin came to our house and got both dogs examined, vaccinated, blood draws, nails trimmed in just 1 hour!! Jedi was still quite anxious but he engaged with Dr. Hunt and Rachel with smiles and wagging tail and kisses after everything was done! He handled the whole thing much more comfortably than his last visit to the vet. So glad to have this option! read more

The vets are super kind people and very helpful! They knew exactly what they were doing and were basically cat whisperers. My cat was coughing and hacking every 5 minutes and after they a prescribed a pill, he stopped immediately! read more

This lovely mom and daughter team were a no brainer for Laurel and I and our two kittens. Nothing could be better than not bringing your cats to a big scary dog filled office and putting them on a cold metal table to get shots. The prices are good, they love cats and they are able to sit down and play with them in your home as well as advising on the enviroment, looking at your set up, food. It was a perfect combo of relaxed fun and professional service. read more

I had a wonderful experience with HousePaws. I used a $25 for $50 worth of services Yelp deal. Friendly, professional, and on time. I had them come by to do a claw trim and microchipping for my cat. It's so convenient; I didn't have to wrestle with my cat to get in the carrier and go through the stress of a car ride to a vet's office. read more

I'm so glad I called HousePaws Austin. The great reviews are well deserved. They handled my cats with ease, even as one of them hissed, growled, and kicked. I just couldn't imagine getting all three of them to the vet. Now I don't have to worry about that, and neither do my kitties. I highly recommend. read more

Tamie replied to my message quickly and we set an appointment for the end of the week. I asked Tamie to observe my mother's cat, who was having behavior issues, and she was very accommodating. Had my first visit with Dr. Hunt & Melissa and I am in love! Dr. Hunt is incredibly wonderful. She takes out time to fully understand what's going on with your pet and then gives you a breadth of information - everything ranging from what you're doing at home that you can change to what possible medical issues could possibly be the issue based on the symptoms your pet is experiencing. What I love about her is that she'll start by recommending things you can do at home to start eliminating the need for further medical exams. If the things you change don't work, then she dives into next steps - as a person with three cats, this saves me a lot of money. Also knowing all the information she provides helps keep me informed so that I can be more knowledgeable if my other cats run into issues. She was so lovely with the cats. My more skittish cat actually remained quite calm during the exam and I haven't seen him do that with other vets. She even gives them treats which is great! Love Dr. Hunt & Melissa so much, I can't imagine going to another vet! Oh, and her prices are beyond reasonable! read more

I just had Dr Hunt and Melissa come do a wellness exam and give annual shots to our 2 cats (5 years old). Our cats get extremely stressed out going to our regular vet, so I tried this as an alternative and it was great. The cats were still a little unhappy, but they were much more calm than they normally are when I have to load them in their carriers, haul them to the vet in the car, and sit with them in the waiting and/or exam room. I definitely would recommend Dr. Hunt and Melissa. Dr. Hunt explained information well, and Melissa handled my cat, who was making a lot of 'yoga moves', very well. This was a much less stressful event for all of us, and the cost was not significantly higher either. All paws and thumbs up from our household! read more

Dr. Hunt and her team are amazing! We breed Ragdoll's so it's not easy or convenient to bring our adult cats or kittens to a vet's office for routine visits/vaccinations. Her service has been a life changer for us. It's so convenient to have Dr. Hunt and her amazing technicians come to our home to provide these services for our cats. Not only did she provide great care to our cats but Dr. Hunt also provided me with very helpful advice to ensure they continue being healthy. She went above and beyond and we are very grateful to have found her. It is very assuring to know our cats are in great hands with her and her team. read more

I've been using mobile vet services for the past few years in my prior city to make a stressful experience for my scared, older kitty less stressful and, frankly; it's more convenient for me as well...so I was relieved to find HousePaws after moving to Austin. Dr. Hunt is amazing!!! She is extremely knowledgeable and offered a lot of insight into the health and wellness of cats, especially with regards to food/diet, and answered all of my questions. She was very patient and I never felt rushed. The service fees are very reasonable for the convenience and expertise offered, in my opinion. She was able to perform everything I needed, from a diabetes test to a microchip implant...all within their awesome, fully-equipped mobile facility! She can provide care inside your own home too, if you prefer. I highly recommend HousePaws and Dr. Hunt for all your veterinary needs!!!! read more

I cannot say enough great things about this wonderful vet. As an experience pet owner, currently with four dogs and a cat, this vet and mobile service is life changing. My two young golden retrievers get fabulous care and great advice for all my concerns about their ears, weight, vaccinations, etc. and my two elderly dogs with significant health issues such as diabetes, cushings, worms, blindness etc. get top notch care as well. I love her demeanor, she's never in a rush to answer the simplest to the most complex questions and treats all the animals with caring and kindness. Love her so much, highly recommend for anyone looking for a mobile vet for any and all concerns from vaccinations, nail trimming, worming, infections, injuries, etc. and the best part is that its mobile!!! yay I used to dread loading up and with all my pets would take several visits and lots of time off work! Now I just schedule and voila the vet van shows up!! Highly highly recommend!!! read more

We have 3 cats and they all hate going to the vet, so we were looking for a quality Mobile Vet that would be able to come to our home in South Austin. Even when we were new customers, the appointment set up process was expedient and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
