Am I the only one who's sick and tired of marketing hype and lies?!!! Dr. Melora promotes herself as compassionate and less stress for your pet by coming to your house when she delivers nothing but stress. She knew restraint would be required and yet failed to bring a tech who might have made this a 10 minute procedure rather than an hour one. I understand she is legally required to bring a tech, yet she refuses to be accountable for any of her actions. She totally stressed out my cat, tormenting my baby in her clumsy attempts to get a simple blood pressure. Despite my many warnings that she was pushing my cat way past her limits to the point of biting, Melora kept going. I was badly bitten, and it was not my cat's fault. I wanted to bite Melora too, but she was busy covering her own ass, watching out for herself so she wasn't bitten. She deserved it tenfold.
She is mediocre at best, and I would not allow her to touch any of my animals again. Beware of this one! She can't or won't read animals, and she fails to listen to animal caregivers who know our animals best. Her services are worthless - she's fired. Her gimmick is house calls; her incentive is money. Phony as a $3 bill. I hate that I allowed the appt. to continue as my trust in her waned, and I deeply enjoyed firing her. My guess is she barely passed the boards and carried a C average in vet school. Dumb as a rock and both unapologetic and irresponsible for her actions. She called my petite little girl evil for having limits on what she could endure, yet it is this excuse for a vet that is evil. She is truly the epitome of incompetence and doesn't know the meaning of compassion, the word that heads her website.
What I witnessed bordered on cruelty, and a car ride would have been far less stressful and far more productive for my little one. She never did get her blood pressure but charged me plenty anyway. Melora came with zero recommendations, and I certainly see why. There are other house call vets in this area recommended to me by friends, vets who don't spend so much energy on marketing themselves. The only reason I did not go with friends' recommendations was lack of a tech. Melora also lacks a tech - it's as hit and miss with her as with the others, so I say go with a vet who actually has a heart.
Melora is highly ambitious; she has to pay for her display ad in the phone book and her internet exposure. I'll take heart, accountability and communication over bling and ambition any day! She even somehow managed to insinuate herself into my local ER as my vet on record, yet she was never more than a temp hired as needed. A temp vet is someone who gets the information, returns it to me, and leaves until called again. I called and had her name removed and am appalled at her audacity to claim she's my vet without my authorization. My holistic vet who does not do some allopathic procedures has been my vet for 20 years. Melora won't last in her profession. The kicker was that I told her a vet who will not listen to me is a deal breaker. She wrote, "I'm sorry you feel that way." Really? Not I'm sorry for dismissing you and for screwing up so horribly. Zero accountability. It was a nightmare!!! She's a nightmare, all Legally Blond with her three huge bags she lugs in like she was boarding a plane, as if that alone doesn't freak out animals. She's truly just plain stupid and loves animals a whole lot less than she loves herself and her income, despite her marketing tactic of an abundance of photos of her with her animals on her site - it's all marketing, not the truth of who she is. read more
