A manager promised me that the only difference between the concierge service was that an RN would be seeing my dad and the doctor would see him about every 6 months. The RN, I think Angela, was uncaring, brief, didnt listen, and wasted our time complaining about the vitamins I supplied him with. When my dad got sick at the facility, she was supposed to see him, every 30 days. She never showed up, or called me despite my phone calls, and he had to go to emergency room for sepsis. Though my dad's passing had more to do with the inept facility, hospital group, and skilled nursing, the Dr's care was misrepresented to me, doctor never saw my dad or talked to me even after 6 months (to my knowledge), communication was frustrating with many staff, and i would highly recommend you sign up for the expensive concierge service if you want this doctor, or try a different RN. read more

"Frustrating" sums up my opinion of the care provided by Dr. Jarchi based on his, and or his staff's, failure to ensure a smooth relocation of my 95-year-old father from skilled nursing where he was under the care of Dr. Jarchi, back to his assisted living facility. He was discharged on a Tuesday, but due to a failure of Dr. Jarchi to add his signature to the physician's order, could not be provided with his full suite of medications by the medical staff at his assisted living facility. It wasn't until three days later on Friday afternoon, after numerous calls from the assisted living facility medical staff and the case manager at skilled nursing, that he was finally able to begin receiving his necessary medication. Dr. Shahriar Jarchi is the most uncaring and unprofessional doctor my family and I have ever dealt with. After my elderly mom had emergency surgery for a large ulcer that was leaking and had developed sepsis she was put under the care of Dr. Jarchi. Not ONCE did he return phone calls from myself or my brother. One of his nurses sometimes called back only after leaving several messages. They could never answer several questions and always said they would ask Dr. Jarchi and get back to us which rarely happened. We needed to know what my mom's prognosis was, what to expect, how she could have gotten the huge ulcer, why she didn't have an appetite, why she wasn't able to walk on her own even with a walker, the huge weight loss, why her very mild dementia had gotten much worse and several other questions we had etc! Before this she was self sufficient and able to walk and go to the bathroom on her own. One of Dr. Jarchi's nurses called my brother about 2 weeks ago and said they wanted to discuss my moms condition. My brother told the nurse TOO LATE!! My mom passed away on February 10th 2 weeks before they reached out to us. He told the nurse that they were the most unprofessional organization and that Dr. Jarchi was absolutely awful! He by far is the worst doctor we have ever dealt with. His lack of respect and not once calling us to discuss my moms condition! He's a horrible human being!!!!!! Lots of confusion. I poke to a very snippy person called Jackie. It took days before they called me back to let me know if the Dr was part of my medical group. I was surprised that they wouldn't know which IPA(s) they were affiliated with. Turns out they were a member. Fine. They said they would send the intake paperwork via email, that I would have to fill it in, return it, and could then make an appointment to see the doctor.I did not receive the forms, but I did receive a phone call from a weird number from Mississippi, that I have reason to believe was actually originating from the Philippines, to confirm that the Dr.,would be at my house the next day 11:00A. I told the lady that I had never received the forms, nor had I spoken to anyone regarding an appointment. A day or two later I received an email from some entity that I had never heard of called Advanced MD, Don't know who Advanced MD is. I feel that I should have been informed that I would be receiving an email from Advanced MD, with the forms attached, before returning so much personal information to a company I had never heard of. Plus I didn't want to end up having to deal with Jackie every time called there. So I changed my Primary Care Provider, called their office spoke to the receptionist, she checked to see if the change had gone through and I made an appointment for the following week. At first my brother and I were very impressed with Dr. Jarchi who was part of a team overseeing our sisters care at Kindred Baldwin Park and at Baldwin Park Congregate Home. At the initial meeting he addressed all of our concerns and seemed generally interested in seeing that our sister was cared for properly.
