He was seen by a local veterinarian, but had complications to his breathing one night and we rushed him to AAC. The care there was VERY inconsistent. Some of the vets and techs were good and others were not. This inconsistency of care and transfer of information was a huge problem. After a few days of care, they ended up calling us in the middle of the night, put us on hold for 5 minutes where I was just panicking, and then insisted he needed to be euthanized. They also told me they weren't providing basic care they promised like draining his bladder. We rushed there and were hard sold on euthanizing him based on information I later found to be incorrect, if not an outright lie. So now my cat is dead, and I am questioning so much of what happened. After a couple of weeks, I left a clear review voicing my concerns on another review site. Nothing mean. Nothing out of hand. I would hope they'd take my concerns to heart. I must have struck a nerve, because they followed up by sending me a letter that basically said (paraphrasing), "Sorry your cats is dead, but you left a bad review so now you are banned from all of our practices." I've NEVER heard of such behavior from a vet, and I'm still shocked. It feels like the intent was cruelty, and not something you would expect from a vet that truly cares about animal welfare. Go here if you must, but be careful.

The staff was so friendly and of course Shadow was his charming self until it came to the exam lol. They were gentle with him and gave him plenty of treats afterwards . His Doctor was friendly and very enthusiastic about Shadow being in such good shape . He has nice teeth , clean ears, clear lungs . Knowing all of this made me relax more. He got a clean bill of health with the exception that he's FIV positive. Shadow is the only cat in our house and he's strictly a indoor cat. Even with that he can and will live a full life . One of the ladies did agree with me that he looks like he's part Russian Blue. In terms of cost the initial exam was free because we adopted him from LHS . I did pay for some additional testing and I think it was a fair price . Shadow does have pet insurance for those just in case moments hopefully they'll be none of those. Shadow will continue to to there for check ups and future shots .

I was very impressed with Dr. Thorton and the staff who helped hold my dog for the exam. They were very gentle, caring and took the time to answer my questions. I felt like Dr. Thorton was extremely knowledgeable and pointed out a lot of things that were very important which my previous vet never mentioned. She and the tech actually took the time to go through this huge book of prescriptions in order to find me a dog food that was right for my dog! I couldn't believe it! That was immensely helpful since I am not familiar with any of them. They gave me thorough information about my pet's medications and even told me where to get Rx coupons for a discount. Now that we have a new health plan for my dog, I feel like she will be happier and healthier thanks to Dr. Thorton. We will definitely keep going to lcvets!
