If zero stars were an option I would have marked zero…read more I have been going to this veterinary office for the past year and they are always busy, the front door is always locked, and the staff are always rude. You never get to see the vet because they always take your pets into the back room and tell you to come back later to pick them up. It was starting to irritate me. So today was the last straw. This morning I found a fledgling robin on the ground. It it appeared to be paralyzed, couldn't hop, and just lay on the ground flapping its wings. I put it in a box with a little blanket, covered the box with a towel, and drove it to this Animal Care Center in Stanford. The door was locked and an older lady was tapping on the door for several minutes. An employee finally opened it and asked what she wanted. The older lady said that she was there to pick up her dog. The employee said that they were in a meeting, and to come back in an hour. Then she looked at me and asked what I wanted. I told her about the baby bird and asked if they could just look at it and see if it was paralyzed or not. She asked if it was a wild bird and I said yes. She was very rude to me, and told me that they were all in a meeting, and the doctor was in surgery, and they don't treat birds anyway. Then she proceeded to close the door and lock it. All I wanted was for them to look at the baby bird, and determine whether or not it was paralyzed. If it was, I was going to ask for it to be humanely euthanized. If it wasn't, I would return it to the wild, where I had found it. I cannot believe that a veterinary office would turn away any creature in need of care, be it wild or not. Especially in an urgent situation, when I even offered to pay. What a serious lack of kindness and compassion. This was the last straw for me today. I will definitely be taking my pets elsewhere from now on.
