After an awful 24 hours, two other vet clinics, driving 5+ hours, and over $1,000 in fees, I finally arrived at Midway. They made the nightmare of the past 24 hours melt away. I now know my dog, Boo, is going to be ok. I adopted Boo in Jan. He had a rough start at life, so I promised him I'd not let him be hurt or ignored or cast-aside ever again. Midway made room for me to bring Boo in today, which is good, because he started bleeding right before I walked into Midway. I paid for Boo to be neutered at the Veterinary Center of Somerset. That was a week ago. The past three days, he started to get lethargic. Then, last night, 8 PM, he ran up to me, whimpered and raise his leg. I could see how swollen and bruised he was from the neutering. I knew he was going to get some swelling, but there was a big hard vein starting to pop out. I knew it was bad. I contacted the vet who conducted the neuter. He said to bring boo to an after hours clinic. I drove two hours, waited five hours, and was about to be treated when two pets came in who have been hit by vehicles. Since they were in for more serious trouble than my boo, I agreed to get pain pills and anabiotic's and go to my main vet next morning. The clinic told me to go first thing and it could not wait. sadly, the vet who conducted the neutering did not want to see boo. She told me to come back at noon. Since boo was in quite a bit of pain and we have been at this for 14 hours, I was not willing to be put off that easily. So, I sat in the clinic. The vet finally came in to my waiting room. He jerked my puppies leg up and told me that the puppy would be just fine. I tried to explain that the clinic had told me to come in. He then barked at me that I had to pay an emergency visit amount which is more than twice the regular visit price. I was appalled. I could not believe that he was being rude to me because I wanted treatment for complications from the surgery that he had performed. I paid the emergency fee for the less than two minutes of his time and left in tears. I called Midway and they immediately made room for boo in the afternoon. Everything about midway was different. They cared and they talked to my puppy. They understood that what I wanted was to be assured that my dog was going to be OK. though, it has been an awful 24 hours, the silver lining is that I have found my forever Veterinary Clinic. I cannot say enough kind words about how they treated me today. Thank you, Midway. Thank you for showing me kindness and taking care of my baby. Thank you for understanding how important my puppy is to me. I promise him to share the news, so others can benefit from the amazing service I got today. Took my dog in for a quote for dental care, and ear care. She received her rabies vaccine and a quote. Later we called and scheduled the appointment and it took 10 days to get that appointment. 8 am for drop off understanding that she would be done by noon and we could pick up around 2 pm to let the meds wear off. Received a call AT noon that the hygienist "went home sick" and they had an "emergency" come in and excuse after excuse. The vet said they could keep her overnight and do everything in the morning but we were questioning why they hadn't even touched her ears yet but they sedated her.... I quickly called back and said no just have her ready for pick up we are coming to get her. My husband went and immediately was greeted with more excuses "Hey we will do her ears right now it will take 5 minutes and we won't charge for it but we have to charge for the medicine". Sadly, my dog is traumatized, depressed, lethargic, and now constipated. Her ear is bothering her more now than it did before. Her entire personality is off. I get emergencies, a few of my fur babies have needed emergency care before, but to leave a dog that you were told has separation anxiety, locked in a cage with sedation and no one around that she knows or is even familiar with only to be giggling on the phone when called to tell us nothing had been done yet? Someone should have called us right away to let us know what was happening, someone should have said something beforehand if you set an appointment and the service wouldn't be provided for a few hours, etc. Your locations piss poor management of time and personnel is absolutely appalling. The creatures you provide a service for are not just "animals", they are people's babies and they mean something to us that you just do not seem to understand. read more

​ if I could write it a zero I would I've been taking my fur baby there since he was born and he's had chronic back issues and he saw Dr Petit yesterday who started him on a librella injection however my fur baby is past the point of something that has to take 6 months to take an effect this dog is down in his back where he cannot walk so I begged him for a steroid injection he wanted me to try the liberella first he didn't want to give him the same injection on the same day so I agreed the next day I wake up guess what my fur baby is no better I call the vet Dr Pettit is not in today but Dr Hutchinson is so they ask her about the steroid injection that the other that had discussed I understand she is her own person but Dr Hutchinson is horrible instead of giving him a steroid injection that would have no side effects she gives him an injection of a narcotic and now he is so drunk he can't even hold his head up how does that help how does that help the inflammation it does not I'm a nurse I know better and I hate having to name drop and Status drop because I think that is cringe I deal with that on a daily but I don't know this situation is gotten me upset and stressed and this is a problem this injection I asked them how much it was and they told me that the doctor could make it whatever price they wanted it but it's usually $30 no doctor have I ever known of has the right to price a medication on however they feel Dr Hutchinson believes in it and she did it I'm fine with that it wasn't a big out of pocket cost however she did not come and talk to me I was not even told what kind of side effects this could have on him I wasn't told if he could take his regular medicine with this I mean I wasn't told anything and then as soon as I get him in the car he won't move he's so drunk he can't even hold his head up because I was telling her that the steroid injection was a favorable request and I had discussed it with the other vet she didn't like that so she had to show her ass instead of being a doctor and helping him she got offended bc I called her out..she tried telling Mr that a single steroid shot could cause ulcers after trying to tell me long term effects of steroids that had no relevance all I wanted was one and instead she decided to be a crappy doc and give narcotic that has done nothing and now I can't give regular mess to him bc he won't wake up enough so it's went from bad to worse and I'm 50 dollars poorer over it...im upset bc the lay person doesn't know better and they are taking full advantage of that read more

Midway has always been where we bring our pups... the staff is so friendly and Dr. Stacey Hutchinson is the absolute best! Our mini pin and German Shephard can be a bit of a handful and she's always so good with them! They calm right down as soon as she comes in the room. read more

Nothing I could ever say would do Midway justice for how amazing and wonderful these people are. I have been going to them for a little over 3 years now and they are always so kind and caring for my fur babies. I recently had to have a pet put down unfortunately and although they weren't the ones who put her down I went to them for cremation. They handled everything exceptionally well and treated me with the utmost kindness. They walked me through everything that was going to be done and still talked about my pet like she was still alive which made me feel more at ease. I opted out of paying for the paw prints to be made and yesterday when I was finally able to pick up her remains when I looked in the bag they had done the paw prints anyway. That brought me to tears because I hadn't paid for it but they had done it anyway. They also gave me forget me not seeds to plant and a very wonderful card expressing their sympathy for my loss. I couldn't ask for a better vet for my fur babies. I very very very highly recommend them for all your fur baby needs. I can not say enough great stuff about Dr Stacey Hutchinson and the other drs here! The (nurses) vet techs, office workers and all the employees I have dealt with here are so caring and fantastic with my dogs and myself! Last summer my border collie got very sick. Dr Hutchinson was not available, but the Drs that were in took great care of us! They kept him 3 days and nursed him back to health and DID NOT CHARGE ME AND ARM AND A LEG!! Very fair prices. Today my boy had to have a tooth extracted and again, the whole staff was fantastic! Thank you so much Midway Vets & so important staff!! read more

The best vet practice in the area. The staff is caring, considerate and helpful. Reasonable prices that they estimated to me before I approved the procedure. Careful of safety of both clients and staff with virus precautions in place. Someone is on call 24/7 though I've not had to use them on an emergency basis. read more
