The shop is amazing, almost like stepping back in time. The shop has an excellent range of sandwiches and rolls, they offer combinations of food, as well as design your own sandwich. This is the store that first introduced me to Banana, brown sugar and walnut rolls.....10 yeras later, I still love them. As well as sandwiches, and rolls they also sell drinks, soup, cake and crisps. This should be the top on everyones list.

I had stilton/broccoli quiche, with baked potato and side salad. Very tasty and extremely good value. The cakes and lemon meringue look very tasty too! It's friendly, very local. Recommended...as is the Market Hall itself. They have a piano near the buffet...come and play for free!

The indoor seating area is pretty poor, most tables are at a pretty low height (I find this to be rather uncomfortable), hopefully once the government allows they'll be able to add more seating as I presume the lack of seating is down to COVID reasons. My drink was slightly cheaper than normal, unusual for a franchise but with Starbucks' charging extortionate prices for their Christmas Red Cup line this year it was expected, my drink cost £4.25 rather than £4.40, a difference of £0.15 or 3.5% before discounts. The staff seemed pretty friendly, and my beverage was okay, the gingerbread cream on top was slightly sloppier than usual, perhaps it was made in a rush but it still tasted fine. Decent Starbucks location, can get busy being the only branch in the town centre, I would have liked more comfortable seating, rather than the focus on really low tables which hurt my back! 3*

It represents true value for money and is much better than the university canteen and Subway. There are a number of sandwich fillings you can have and all sandwiches are made to order. Everything from a salad bap to a sausage and bacon sarnie. Price wise it's cheaper than competitors but the only down side is that it is take away only. It's only down the road from Hanley Park so if it's a nice day, venture there to enjoy a lunchtime snack.
