There's even a little shop that you can purchase treats etc. using a QR code system (I tried it and it was so easy to use!) There's a mop and bucket for pee breaks, and bags for poop breaks. There are signs that say "don't get mad", because it's expected in an indoor dog park! Very very cool and will definitely do this again. The dogs were so exhausted after!!!

The Diamond in the Ruff website caught my attention as I read her no punishment technique. After speaking to Colleen, we decided that a private class would suit us best. And I can say it was well worth it. We learned so much but the most important lesson for us was emergency recall. Our dog is 2 years old and we adopted a second. Both LOVE chasing jackrabbits and are distracted by squirrels. They come flying back after a few minutes when we use our word 'boomerang', to get their favourite treats. I also appreciated her recommendations on socialization. Hunter was very intimidated by children and strange things on familiar people. His bark is very intimidating. Colleen walked us through techniques to desensitized him. He now is able to look to us for direction. We have and would recommend Colleen to anyone who asked. The private lessons were perfect for us but Colleen or her assistant can help decide what will work best for you.

My experience with Westbrook Vet Clinic started out great - initially…read more Staff was really friendly and they were all excited about her, as they had never seen her breed before; a Black Russian Terrier. I then booked an appt. for her required second set of shots. (note: I spent quite awhile at that first visit, as what dog lover doesn't love to talk about their dog? LOL. I felt they were a bit 'heavy handed' about the insurance. But take it or leave it right? As it turned out - to get insurance for my dog; with a $250. deductible it would have cost me ONLY $500. plus per month. I just about fell on the floor. I was stunned that anyone could say that with a straight face. Seriously?!?! Obscenely ridiculous. I don't know anyone - with or without tons of money who would EVER consider paying such extortion-like prices.) However, the part that left me VERY UNIMPRESSED was that when I went in for my appt. (you know; pre-booked for that specific service?) The vet was friendly and examined her in a small exam room. He gave her the kennel cough nasal dosing and then proceeded to tell me that they 'were out' of vaccines. Sooooo NOT COOL!! But stuff happens and although I wasn't thrilled to have to return again; it was not the end of the world. Right? So, I return when the vaccines 'came in' and I was stunned to have a 'woman from the front counter' (what were her credentials? was she a vet tech? She didn't clarify anything) She just took her leash from me and promptly WALKED AWAY WITH MY DOG (not inviting me, the owner to follow or otherwise) she went into one of the exam rooms and passed thru the rear door (closing it behind her) I, of course followed, thinking 'what the heck are you doing lady?!?!' I open the rear door to their back room - where I said "Um, I want to be WITH my dog and SEE the vaccination" and there she was giving her the injection! Of course she may well have been a trained vet assistant but I'll never know! She was quite arrogant about the whole thing and acted like I was making a big deal out of nothing. I PAID for a physical exam and expected the VET to give her the injection. (I can go to G & E Pharmacy and obtain my own vaccinations for about $9 bucks. *** I have owned dogs forever and done this countless times in the past; when my pets were in great physical condition (you cannot do rabies yourself, but I had never taken any of my dogs out in the bush or forested areas so I never had rabies shots done) Needless to say, the 'in-stock' preparedness was a big FAIL but the 'woman-at-the-counter-walking-away-with-my-dog' (without explanation) was ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE. I have dealt with vet techs and have no problem. But in this case who knows what her training was? The ONLY reason I go to a vet is for 'THE VET'!!!! Never again. - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE - VERY POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS They blew it, period.

My Pug (Bullet) just LOVES Pet Planet! All pets are welcome…read moreinto there store, as long as they have a leash on them. Bullet's always super excited when we go on our bi-monthly visit to Pet Planet. He just loves walking into the store and picking out the exact treats he wants. (Yes I do spoil him to much sometimes) They have a marvelous selection of dog and cat food. Dry, canned, frozen, raw...whatever types you can think of-they'll have it! The staff they have employed there (including the store owner/manager) are all SO NICE, polite, professional and helpful. If I ever have any questions about anything, the staff is always available to answer them and give me recommendations. AJ, Christine and Lindsey if you're reading this, thank you for all the help you've given me! Most recently was when I asked them what I should do about Bullets nonstop shedding? They recommended I try "The Furminator" to help remove all that extra hair. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend $50 on a dog brush, but I took her advice and bought it. I went directly home after to try it out, and see if it really worked as good as she said it would. WOW! Was she ever right about it! I couldn't believe how amazing this thing actually was. How I ever survived without a brush like this, for as many years as I did just baffles me! His shedding went from a 10/10 (His fur being everywhere!) down to a 2/10 (Hardly sheds at all) If you live in Beaumont, Leduc or South Edmonton, you definitely have to drop by and see this store. I know you won't regret it!

It's literally across the street instead of wasting at least 30 min to go to Edmonton and back. They have a great selection of dog toys as well and I've bought a bunch in hopes that my dog will chew on them instead of my house... so far its about 80/20 lol... he really likes the toys. My little guy also really likes the chicken jerky that we got a sample of last time that we were in the store after his nail cuts... I don't even know if he chewed it, it was more of an inhale lol. I also have to do a shout out for Pet Planet supplying the free dog bags at the Beaumont dog park. It is nice to have them there when I forget to bring mine! There are a lot of people who take advantage of using them... so thanks so much!!
