After living here for one year and seeing two managers leave, this place has gone downhill. Even the maintenance man complains of how trashy the residents have become. Trash all over the grounds, beer cans, school papers, wrappers, food sacks, everything. Because a few residents just don't care.
A small group of specific people trash the pool every time they go - another frustrating concern of the maintenance staff. Their foul language when "mamma ain't around" is vile and repulsive considering the ages of the two boys are around 11-12 and their sister is maybe 8-9. But, don't you dare point this out to "mamma" cuz you ain't they daddy.
When the kids gets into the pool, they are loud for hours on end with zero respect for anyone else, even when parents are there on their phones texting and not paying attention to the kids. The girls scream bloody murder and the boys yell as loudly for literally as long as five hours on end. But, if I say anything about that, I'm told "I haven't heard them" from management who typically leaves before all the yelling begins. Also, I was told that since I'm close to the mail room, "workout facility", and pool, that the minor inconvenience of kids being kids should be understood. Yeah, manager, you don't live here and listen to the hellions scream, yell and cuss until 11pm, Thanks.
My upstairs neighbor is large and clumsy and every step she takes can be heard, creaking the floorboards. One night she dropped something, I thought herself, so hard that dust came off the bathroom light. I'm a disabled veteran with PTSD from the Gulf War (Desert Storm) and raised concerns first with the lady's well-being and eventually with the constant noise that only recently began. One of the previous managers suggested I relocate to another unit and began paperwork to facilitate this. This would have been a good idea had I not heard what amounted to a rather loud and abusive verbal battle coming from very near the unit that would have been my new place. Also, the unsupervised and undisciplined children here, who have zero respect for anyone else's belongings or space, tend to play and scream for really no reason, near the other unit. So, moving would not have solved anything.
Plus, the new manager - and I don't know how her named is spelled - told me that the "walls are thin" and when I played a recording of the stomping she said she didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. It's the UPSTAIRS neighbor who is shaking the ceiling, not on the other side of the wall. The manager said she would need something booming or louder noise to really see a problem. So, the neighbor upstairs can creak and crack and thud and stomp and clomp and bang and whatever else she wants at ANY time of day (as early as 7am and as late as 11:30) and that's fine because it's "not loud enough" to be ann issue. My PTSD hears her noise and wants to dodge incoming fire, but that's not a concern. As a professional who travels, I often am required to wake before 5am, so trying to sleep at 9pm with screaming children and thudding neighbors is impossible. But, again, "kids are kids" and the noise "isn't loud enough" to be a concern.
Sorry for the rant, but if you're a mature professional adult who enjoys a modicum of peace in an intelligent environment, this is not the place for you. read more
