Annabelle was a great instructor! In a world of reformer Pilates, was excited to see mat classes…read more being not just offered, but done right!

Nice place. Have been trying new fitness things and took the 30 min TRX class today at the…read moredowntown location, they also have a location in gulf breeze. This place offer aerial pilates, aerial yoga, TRX, pilates mat, pilates equipment training and more. Friendly service. Always return phone calls and are patient with explanation. The downtown location is easy to find. On the corner of Palafox and Main street. Street parking. Nice layout, have merchandise for purchase. Nice yoga wear with brands like Onzie - they have some sale items too. They had tanks, crops, pants, capris, bootie socks, headbands and more. Kinda on the pricey side for my taste if the prices on the tag were accurate. After the little store area is the 2 workout rooms, the first area had the pilates machines. 2nd room for other classes like aerial and trx. This place does have windows- I'm not sure if pedestrians can see inside or not. Nice lighting. Very clean. Large cubbies to store your items. Our TRX teacher was very patient and supportive. The class was quick but intense enough for a burn. I really like how easy the moves were to pick up. I wished we had time to warm up a little before the class but we did cool down. She played music from her phone too. I live good music with a workout. Overall, I liked the class and the place. I hope to take more classes at either location. They did have group packages and offered discounts for military, teachers, and students.

Review of Laura Tyree Health (based inside Hot Yoga Om)…read more Needed pain relief due to hamstring/sciatic nerve issue from exercise and running. Was advised by one of my running coaches to seek massage and one of the providers she recommended was Laura Tyree. Laura does not do massage (Angie's List categories didn't give me the option to select something more specific) but she does a technique called Myo-fascial Release (in addition to Theta Healing and teaching Yoga). "This gentle technique of quiet pressure and stretching relieves pain from the restriction of connective tissue damage. " Her website is https://lauratyree.com/ My first visit was 1.5 hrs, with the first 20 or so minutes consisting of us discussing why I was there, Laura evaluating me, and then talking about the technique and what was going to happen. I walked out after the session with a little less pain, but the next day realized she'd helped an issue I hadn't mentioned (that I thought I would have to live with). My right knee would not fully extend immediately upon standing, due to tightness after surgery a year prior. After my first visit with Laura, the knee extended properly upon standing (without me having to rub it or hobble for a few steps) and it also flexes a bit better. The treatment she provides takes effect over time, and as the days went by, my hamstring pain got better (but didn't go away). We had discussed the probability that it would require at least 2 visits, if not more, to resolve my issue. I returned a week later for a 60 min visit, and my situation improved even more, and Laura said I was 85% toward my goal. I could return or just let the issue finish resolving itself if I didn't want to spend the money for another appt. A week after the 2nd visit, I had no hamstring pain, and only slight discomfort (tightness) when running, that didn't plague me after my run. Laura texted me asked that I return for a 3rd visit (30 mins) to get me to 100%, and I agreed. Why start something and not finish it? I went for my 3rd visit today (a week after my 2nd visit), and am very satisfied with how I feel and look forward to feeling the benefits in the coming days. I will definitely return to Laura if I have other issues in the future that this technique can benefit, or just for a yearly (or bi-yearly) body tune-up. I'd much rather have hands-on, caring therapy for my body than to take meds for pain and just feel like I have to live with it. I'd never heard of myo-fascial release before I went to Laura, but now I'm a huge fan and tell everyone I know, who might find her treatment beneficial. First visit for new client - $125 for 90 mins. After that, 60 min visits are $95. My total cost was $220 (plus gratuity, which is not required but I was happy to give).

I found this studio via Yelp and decided to give it a try. After a stressful week of taking care…read moreof my mother in the hospital, this is exactly what I needed. The entrance to the studio is on Brooks street, not Miracle Strip Parkway. The studio was inviting and warm. The yoga room was pretty bare and lacked mirrors. Also, the traffic was not well hidden via the curtains. If you have a wondering mind, like I do, it's best to setup your mat away from the windows to avoid distractions. The floor in the yoga room is slippery once your body warms up, so make sure your feet don't go beyond your mat. The instructor was really friendly and upbeat and the class was fun. I took some sort of Yoga fo' Shoga class which was set to freestyle rap. The class was setup so the instructor walked us through certain flows a few times, then we were set free to add variations of own. This was fine, however, I think I have a better practice in a 100% guided class. Also, if you're a newbie, it may be hard to add in extra poses if you don't know them. The instructor closed the class singing and playing guitar, which was awesome. She had a great soothing voice and could play the guitar well. The other students in the class were friendly, and it appeared as though everyone knew everyone. All in all, I had an enjoyable time, and I hope to return before I leave town.
