Our insurance company recommended LEGENDARY. I'm only giving "Legendary" 3?stars because of Emily & the front desk receptionists. I if it weren't for them, I'd only give 1 star. The receptionists at the front desk were welcoming, professional, & friendly. Emily, one of the Physical Therapist's was fantastic. Unfortunately, I was only able to work with her twice but she was attentive, empathetic, & made an attempt to get to know me as a whole. Something I can truly appreciate 100%. She NEVER left my side the entire time. My other 3 visits were with Doctor Louie. Upon my first and initial visit with him had me not wanting to go back as I had repeated myself with a response only for him to tell me, "I heard you the first time". My second visit, he walked away while I was in the middle of some exercises to talk to other clients, turn on a TV for them, get water, go to a break room to get a sandwich which he proceeded to eat in front of me. My finial visit, he introduced a new exercise and then walked away for at least 5 minutes if not more. My husband was waiting for me so I walked over to him and said, "let's go". I told him what happened and that I wanted to leave. We went to the front desk and explained what had happened. They said, "that it wasn't like him to just leave". They further asked if he said anything to me and no, he did not, he just left. No one knew where he went but insisted it must have been an urgent matter. I can understand that but still, he should have said something. Although, Dr. Louie apologized, he asked, "none of my coworkers had your back?" My response was, "no, you just left, no one knew where you went". I finished out my appointment with him but absolutely refused to go back and couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. From the very beginning, I didn't feel any professionalism with Dr. Louie.

This "Covid" excuse occurred today, (July 6th 2022) for calls/texts not returned and lessons that were canceled within the last couple of months. The owner also humiliated me and told me to leave when I told him his "Covid" excuse" was dubious. I'm much older than the average age. "athlete" there. He said he'd give me my money back. I can only pray. With his way of thinking this is doubtful. They most likely will keep much more money than they should. Stay away unless your willing to go along with every arrogant extra charge and lack of follow through they dish out. If you attempt to hold them responsible for what they promise and what you pay for, they will be difficult. Especially if you are an older out of shape women like me. XFit is supposed to be nice and good and sweet and accepting. This place just wants your money, or in my case just wants my money and doesn't want to follow through with what I pay for. Absolute predatory practices - they…read morewill not respond to you when you have an issue, they have uncertified trainers and not enough classes. On August 25, 2025, I signed a 1-month membership contract with Pensacola Athletic Center (HS #14997) and paid $107.49 by credit card. The signed contract includes the cancellation rights under Florida Statute § 501.017 (the Health Studio Act). On August 27, 2025, within the 3 business day cancellation period, I delivered a written cancellation notice (which I sent via email and certified mail). Despite this, the gym failed to acknowledge or act on my cancellation. They did not confirm cancellation, did not refund or void charges, and subsequently adjusted my account to show a "past due" balance of $157--an amount higher than the original contract price. This is now somehow a past due balance of $166.50 and the only communication I get is that they are going to send this to collections. The gym has never provided a legitimate explanation, has not responded to my certified correspondence, and continues to assert I owe fees. This conduct violates Florida's Health Studio Act, including the statutory requirement to refund amounts when cancellation is timely. I have since requested that FDACS investigate this matter, require the gym to confirm cancellation in writing, correct its records, and refund any improper charges. Avoid at all costs, there is also no way to delete your information from the app (and the app is absolutely worthless).

Little did they know, this carried me through some of my more lonely months. In addition to staff, I quickly made friends with a lot of fellow athletes and gym goers & after a month of attending regularly, being consistent was never easier. I looked forward to hard workouts and pushing myself as that is the culture here. I've never quite felt like I had a gym home like this one. We're moving again in a couple of months and this has become the hardest place to say goodbye to. I even broke my elbow a few months ago and I continued to show up on all of my regular days just to do what I could. I knew I could rely on my peers to help me load weight onto machines, and I was right, people were quick to offer a hand. Oh - and the gym is really nice. There are 4 racks accompanied with deadlift platforms that are rarely all full, when they are, the wait is never too long. They've renovated it since I've joined and hosted plenty of events. They've slowly rolled new equipment in to replace old equipment. & the gym is never completely packed. There are times it's busier, but never unbearable.

This is the first PF I have ever been to (and trust me, I've been to A TON) that has a compact/upright leg press, but also not one, not two, but THREE squat racks/deadlift platforms. Now, the weights don't go up too crazily - it's not a CRUNCH or commercial gym, but this was awesome to see. They also have tons of cardio equipment (of course), but lots of newer versions of some equipment along with the classic versions.
