I have always worked on my fitness and what once worked was no longer yielding results. I came across Telos and decided to give their free class a try. I knew I had nothing to lose. Though I survived the class, I was worried that I reinjure myself by going to hard, too fast. I decided I needed professional help. I swallowed my pride and signed up right away. Started with 30 minute sessions twice a week and slowly built up to 3 times a week for 1 hour. After 8 weeks, I'm stronger, finally pain free, and I can do moves I have been unable to do in 8+ years! It still plan on joining the regular group classes but I am enjoying the personalized sessions. My trainer has my ability in mind and knows just how far I can go and pushes me a little further. I even signed my son up for the teen performance class and I love how it's given him more confidence in competitive swim and soccer. He feels stronger and when he plays against the "big kids", he no longer shys away. It can be scary trying new things but this gym is absolutely NOT intimidating. I love my hour in the gym because it's 1 hour I am dedicating to myself without distraction. I love that it's just me, my trainer, and good music. Everything else can wait. The best time to start good habits is yesterday, the next best time is today!

This place is no f*cking joke. First off, this is an old-school strength gym, and I mean that in the best way possible. It's not bougie, it's not aesthetic-driven, and it's definitely not trying to be a trendy Instagram gym. It's gritty, it's real, and it's built for people who actually want to get stronger. They've got everythinggggg!Olympic lifting, strongman training, personal training, group classes, nutrition coaching... even a calisthenics coach (which is honestly rare to find). Whether you're a beginner wanting to level up or someone who's already deep in fitness and feels like you've outgrown franchise gyms... this is where you go to get humbled REAL quick. And I love that. The tour alone sold me. Front desk was super welcoming, and the owner was already on it with communication before we even walked in. You can tell this place runs on passion and community, not flashy marketing. Inside? Old-school equipment (my personal favorite &way more effective than a lot of the newer stuff IMO). Outside? A full-on training setup with turf, tires, and space to actually move. There's also indoor turf, kettlebells, and room to train however you want. This is a no-BS, get-it-done gym. One of my favorite parts though? The people. You've got folks in their 70s and 80s lifting alongside everyone else and that's powerful. As a woman in my 40s, that kind of environment hits different. Strength training isn't optional, it's essential & this is the kind of place where you do it right. Also love that they have options for everyone: * Memberships * Personal training * Group classes (super affordable around $20/class once you're cleared) * Even drop-in options for travelers It's flexible, which you don't always see in more serious gyms. And honestly... if you're the person who's always finishing first in group classes and not really getting pushed anymore? Come here. You will be challenged. In the best way. This place feels like a local secret , very word-of-mouth, very "if you know, you know." Not overcrowded (especially midday), dedicated community, and zero fluff. Soooo yeah... I'm hooked. If you're serious about getting stronger -- not just sweating, but actually building strength & this might be the gym in Tucson.

All levels were in the gym with folks smiling, didn't see anyone taking selfies or standing in front of mirrors except to notice their form. Per my usual methodologies of…read moremeasuring boxes I visited the website to research the coaches, programming, and testimonies. After satisfying my initial screenings I reached out via email/online form to drop in for classes. I received a response within 2 hours which is far faster than responses I typically receive. The communication was concise, contained all of the information I needed and my options, and professionally written by the owner. First impressions mean a lot, and OPCF shines in this area. The whole place is clean, very well organized, and oozes with pride and personal touches put in by the owners and employees. I was also greeted by a huge smile from Dulcinea who promptly sent me on a 400m run (I was a little bit late from not knowing the area too well). Upon my return the whole process of warming up and explanation of the day was expertly done before we broke out to warm up and get into the strength portion of the day. The classes I attended in the morning were small, but the community has large personality. Everyone was super friendly and embraced me as a newcomer as if I had been a member there for years. One of the ways I determine the culture of a box is through the actions of the members. This is an establishment that obviously places emphasis on being supportive and welcoming to everyone who walks through the door, regardless of their ability level or goals. They offer at least 4 different programs (each offered through labeled classes on their schedule) that range from endurance to self-defense (and obviously CrossFit). All of this doesn't really matter if the coaches themselves are not knowledgeable or able to teach and coach members in a meaningful way. Within minutes I was getting great observations and movement tips from Dulcinea that helped me in a meaningful way and allowed me to hit a PR in my overhead squat of 220# (it was a 1RM day by chance!). She also took the time to observe and give me some pointers on the movements that were scheduled within the WOD and it can be refreshing to get some fresh pointers and PoV after being in the CrossFit community for over 6 years. Whether you are seeking a local place to enhance your overall fitness, increase your CrossFit abilities, find a supportive environment to reach your goals, or drop in to a CrossFit class while you are traveling OPCF is a choice you won't be disappointed in. With family in town I have found a location I can rely on whenever I'm visiting without any worry of schedule, flexibility of programming, or getting a great workout with a great group of people.
