It is a motiviating & challenging workout regardless of your fitness level. The coaches do an awesome job of teaching challenging templates with tons of variations and modifications while still keeping it squarely high intensity interval training. Every workout is different and the coaches encourage you to push yourself. I will say we all have our favorite coaches. I find Michelle Skog to be incredibly inspirational and I often think to myself of her sayings when I find a challenge outside of the studio. Stacey is encouraging and always lets you know that she's seen that amazing personal best you've just acheived. Callie makes you think you can do it and finish regardless of where you start. Renee is always there on the weight floor and tweaking your form to get you the best results. I can honestly say I've never had a bad coach or a negative interaction here. I am so happy to be an OTFer!

Location is easy to find but parking isn't always available. I had to park at the nearest parking garage which wasn't too bad. Upon walking into the studio I noticed it was very clean and organized. The young woman in the reception area was very sweet and greeted me. The class and instructor was so much fun but I was totally out of shape and dying. I will definitely sign up for another class because the instructor is super motivating and doesn't let you fail!

I started trying out their "Turbo Kick" class first - through Brunch Babes events, and got hooked. It's high energy, but fun and goofy at the same time, with killer songs to move to. Turbo Kick really gets me excited to come back every week - which is saying something for the person who usually agrees with Fat Amy, "don't put me down for cardio". I love to book their classes through ClassPass, but no matter where you book through, the classes are affordably priced. Highly reccomend, and hope to see my fellow Yelpers in classes soon! BONUS TIP: It's also just a short walk away from one of my favorite healthy eats in town - Urban Fresh! Perfect way to make a little afternoon out of your downtown trip. Jared, Andy, Luke and Cat, continue to encourage me in my fitness journey, during every session I attend! I look forward to coming each day. I used to attend barre classes regularly and more than 80% of the class was at THE BARRE (10% warm-up and 10% abs on the floor). The class I attended here was more of 60%. My friends who had attended a few weeks before said the same thing. This was just one class. Maybe there are others classes or even other instructors that are more barre intensive. But my expectation was not met in that regard especially for a specialty class with that namesake. I would go again to try another class. I did fee like I got a good workout and the instruction was fine overall.

Stopped by this YMCA with a friend who lifts once a week there on a weekday mid morning . There was a group of children outside under shade playing a fun game , a summer program maybe ? Greeted on entry everyone must sign in , join , belong , or call for details . There was free ? coffee in lobby ! Saw several exercise areas big weight room , a cardio machine separate room , a small exercise ball workout room , & a large dance , aerobics , yoga , mirrored room with comfortable real wood gym type flooring . Two younger women practicing a dance routine enthusiastically there . We " hit the weight room then practiced some stretching , , & friend did a comfortably sharing this big room . I'm told they have a pool but did not see it . Plenty of parking , some nearby under solar panels . ( nearby city of Tucson glass recycling bins #fyi ) Multiple ymca's and ywca around Tucson . I popped into IM = X Pilates & Fitness Studio on the East Side for a preview class, and it was a…read morereally sweet first look at a brand-new, family-run studio. You can feel the heart behind this place right away--mother, son, sister all involved--and the energy was welcoming from the start. They currently offer Reformer and Mat Pilates, with plans to add Tower Pilates and cycle bikes soon (which I'm excited to see roll out). The reformers are unique to the franchise, and we got to try jump boards, various straps, planks, push-ups, and crunches--definitely a solid, challenging workout. I took an intermediate class and felt it, which makes me curious about their upcoming Extreme level. I also appreciated having both a male and female instructor--especially fitting since Pilates was created by a man--and both were knowledgeable and supportive. Since this was a preview, they're still working out some kinks (sound system, mics, etc.), which is totally expected this early on. Pricing is on the higher end for a drop-in ($38), though they do offer intro deals and packages, and they're not on ClassPass just yet. While this may not end up being my go-to studio, I think IM = X has a lot of potential, especially as everything comes fully online--and it's always nice to support a new, locally run spot finding its rhythm.
