The actual decor is very cool and the inside has UV light that makes everything look neon. The classes themselves are good, but very fast paced. They don't really give you enough time to switch or to grab weights. I like that there are reminders projected on the wall for what you need to do. It's also very dark in there which is I think is dangerous because someone could easily trip over something and hurt themselves.

Not a beginner friendly class. Not told about lockers, what to expect or even given numbers (spots). Arrived plenty early but felt completed confused once the class started. They were quick to charge for the gloves and overpriced wraps but not give any instruction. The teacher uses a loud intercom mic in an absurdly dark classroom facing the wall so you can't understand what the moves are. Music is also loud and completely over stimulating. Left to go cry in the bathroom then left. Nobody said anything or asked why we left. - Owner responded to my google review weeks later and claimed they didn't ask why I left because I had come unprepared to begin with (a false claim since I was there thirty minutes early with email proof of check in) Their classpass review tells me they hope I took a nice selfie after reading I cried in the bathroom - shows how much empathy they have for their clientele.

I was coming off CrossFit and Orange Theory and Bootcamps and general weightlifting.  But none of them by themselves were getting me where I wanted to be.  Plus I had no time for all. Then a friend of mine told me about Fit4Lyfe, a/k/a F4L. I signed up for the free class and showed up ready to kill it. After all, I killed my Orange Theory classes. For as long as I remember I have been in good to great shape... so I thought.  The trainer that day was the owner, Jason. Warmed up and away I went. All I remember about my first class was that midway through I felt like throwing up.  I thought to myself... what in the world is going on!?! F4L is a HIIT (high intensity interval training) gym as well OCR (obstacle course racing) training facility. It's a different kind of gym. It isn't like an Orange Theory or an F45. Ran by its owners Jason and Sandy, at F4L you will get the kind of personal attention you won't get anywhere else, especially in the aforementioned places.  This place is not a franchise type facility. It has a family feel to it the likes of which I've never experience anywhere before. Not only are all trainers trained by both Jason and Sandy, the routines rarely ever repeat (and I've been with F4L for nearly five years) making every 1-hr HIIT class unique. You will get whatever you put into F4L.  You want to come, take a class and leave? Cool!  You want to be part of a family? Sure.  Your call.  I've never EVER seen gym owners make themselves so available to its members. Never experienced an owner caring so much about my well-being.  Never seen members of a gym socialize so much outside of it. I had done some OCR spartan races here and there before joining F4L. Today?  I have competed in three OCR World/North American Championships.  I have placed top ten in my age group in OCR races.  I have improved my running per mile by almost 3 minutes.  I ran two half marathons.  I have ran Triathlons and will complete my first Half Ironman next year and hopefully a full Ironman the year after that.  AND ALL OF IT IS DUE TO JASON & SANDY AT F4L. I joined a gym... and gained a family... friends that will last me a lifetime. Come give it a try. It really is a special place.

My big, clumsy, awkward twin teenage boys joined mid-February. I could tell they didn't like it as much as CFMF (their old crossfit gym) where the coaches, just like most crossfit coaches, resemble drill sergeants. When it comes to big, clumsy, awkward teenage boys trying to get into shape, crossfit instructors are just right for the job. Which is why I don't mind spending nearly $300 a month for them to attend. Anyway, I could see a little resistance/reluctance starting to build up in them. Now granted, they are teenage boys and don't get excited about anything but video games, food, sports and girls. So, just 2 and a half months into it, in an instance of acting out, one of the boys took a sports drink and didn't pay for it. Not that he didn't have money, he does have a part time job and not only that, but, the gym is great about charging the account for any drinks or supplements they have available. It was more of a personal disrespect of his coach and TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! He took the drink and the coach watched him take it. That's right, he watched him take it. However, instead of asking the boy "are you going to pay cash for that or do you want to put it on your account?" This coach got into his car and drove straight to my house, knocked on my door and told on him. Now, all disparaging remarks aside, I really did appreciate that he notified me of my sons bad behavior. It helps me, as a parent, to see there is a heart problem that needs to be addressed. My son was wrong, and as most parents would do, I corrected him and the problem and my son ended up writing an apology and paying $5 for a $3 drink, as voluntary restitution. As he stood there at the door and told me all about my sons grand larceny, I sincerely thanked him and assured him I would deal with my son. He then said, "they are not welcome to come back, their contract is terminated." Now I'm not an amazing business man, by any means, but, I know that a teenager's $3 indiscretion is not a good reason to terminate a $3300/yr contract. I mean yes, he made a mistake, but, not an unforgivable mistake. There had to be more to the story, I replied "oh, okay....... why?" He said, "welllllllll, they are not very compliant." When asked to explain, he stated they didn't always fully participate and were sometimes disruptive during the class. I then asked "this is a CrossFit, right?" So, these people are either fat-shamers or they don't like teenagers or are prejudice or maybe they just can't motivate people like drill sergeants, I don't know. Whatever the reason, they couldn't just be honest with me and had to wait for an opportunity to kick the boys out. So, If you never complain about anything, don't need to be motivated by a personal trainer or a coach and are always super excited for a mildly tough workout, then these people will be great for you and they will be glad to take your money. However, if you live in the real world, where you need to motivated by a Drill Instructor just to get out of bed and get dressed (like most teenage boys), then this Barbie gym is probably not for you. They really should take all references of "CrossFit" out of their name and gym, it's false advertising. Anyway, I'm glad we found out how they were before we spent more money there. I just wish they would have let me know a month or two ago that they were not equipped to handle teenagers instead of waiting until things progressed for the worst. Just another teachable moment I guess.

When we arrived, the instructor was signing people in and gave a few instructions for first-timers (just me) on the importance of hydration. Hydrate 45(?) minutes before and after class, making sure to drink something with electrolytes as you sweat... a lot. Walking into the warm studio, you already start to sweat but the class was amazing with the instructor aware of the skill levels of everyone in class. I was so grateful for her going over certain things a bit more as I haven't stepped into an in-person yoga class since college. I was DRIPPING in sweat, in the best way possible, and was absolutely drenched by the end of class. Even though I felt like I just took a shower, I was so relaxed. Pro tip: don't forget to bring your own mat, towel, and water!
