While on a car shopping errand in Greenville, my husband and I stopped in here for dinner on a…read moreweeknight... We arrived at around 5:30 pm, but managed to get seated right away. The place was surprisingly nice...very cozy, inviting ambiance with a warm, fuzzy color palette. Thoroughly Japanese in decor...complete with anime on TV screens. The menu was quite lush...SO much to choose from! They had a wide variety of ramen, as well as a long list of sushi (both nigiri and sushi rolls), as well as a variety of donburi and even poke bowls. Tons of appetizers too. LOVED their menu! I ordered the Spicy Tantanmen Ramen, and a Pork Bao Bun. My husband ordered Chicken Katsu (appetizer only), Shrimp Tempura, and a bowl of white rice. We also shared Edamame. Well, all I can say is WOW. Everything....I mean EVERYTHING was absolutely delish!! Actually, I think I got the wrong ramen... Instead of Tantanmen, I got the other Spicy Ramen (I think?)...and normally, I'd be upset about this, but my ramen was still SO good, I decided to let it go. The Bao Bun was good too! I also sampled my husband's dishes...and both Katsu and Shrimp Tempura batters were perfect...So incredibly crispy and fresh!! So glad we chose to check out this place. A-Plus all the way!

Food was fantastic. We got the calamari to start, which I'd highly recommend! We both got a bowl of ramen (The garlic tonkatsu was incredible), and two sushi rolls to share. Excited to compare it to other ramen shops in the area, but overall very pleased with our first experience here!

To start I was greeted immediately at the door with a happy accommodating server. I feel like you can have a nice quiet dinner here. My waitress was very sweet and attentive. Every time I've been I've had sushi and sashimi. It's been great all times. The temperature of the sashimi is point on. Great quality food. I would give five stars if I have used the bathroom, but I've never used the bathroom. Therefore I can only do four stars at this time. However, if I return again and use the restroom, I will be sure to update my review. I will definitely be back. Thank you for your great service.

I said we had a pretty sizeable carry out order, which she took down And I asked if 6:30 was doable for the actual pick up time. To her credit, she wanted to confirm with the sushi chef's and they said, "yes." And they were spot on. We had five rolls and about 14 orders of nigiri. Sushi Masa is the best sushi in town, but I appreciated the forthright communication and commitment to their word on timing. Highly recommend dine-in or carry out.

I am not sure what everyone ordered so can only go into details about what my husband and I had and what murmurings I heard from the folks seated around me. I got the pork rib barbecue with soondubu (soft tofu stew). Hubs got the beef bulgogi with kimchi jigae (stew). There were also a variety of banchan. Some friends split the large BBQ combo which looked big as a house. Another friend ordered a bunch of dumplings. If I were to have one complaint, it would be that the menu wasn't beginner friendly. I'm personally well acquainted with Korean food but there were a couple folks in the group who had never had it before and didn't have enough info about what they were ordering. Many of the items in the "entrees" section are soups, but they don't say that they're soups and at least one friend was surprised that is what they ended up with. I wish I'd known they were struggling and could have helped them, but I'd recommend that the restaurant revise the menus a bit or at least have one page that defines some stuff for the beginners. Beyond that, no real complaints. The portions were large and I was very happy with everything I ate. The banchan were good, mostly representative of banchan I've had elsewhere though their bean sprouts were a bit different than I usually get (in a good way) and a couple of the radish dishes might have been a little too similar. The soondubu was good, a little less "fishy" than I'm used to; mine uses anchovy broth but maybe they don't? It wasn't spicy at all. The kimchi jigae was a little spicier. The BBQ pork rib was a little different than I was expecting from another restaurant I used to get that dish from, but not in a bad way, it was still very good but less saucy. Still had good flavor, and there was a lot of meat conveniently already removed from the bone for the most part. I like that they cook the food in back; while some might enjoy "make it yourself" BBQ; I prefer to focus on the company when I'm dining out. They were kind enough to split the checks, which with that many people is GREATLY appreciated and they made sure to point out that tip was already included prominently on the bill. Prices are very reasonable for Korean, which is often one of the pricier cuisines, especially given the portion sizes. It is not "cheap", but it is "reasonable" for what you get. I will absolutely organize another group meal here next time I'm in town, I'll just hold a little "Korean food 101" session for the noobs beforehand though to help them know how to order!

It was very good! I liked that it had a good variety of Korean dishes beyond bulgogi and K-fried chicken, as much as I love both of those. I'll be back next time in Greenville. Restaurant was clean, not too loud, and service was a little slow but very friendly!
