Coming back almost a year later to warn you... spent $1717 on a Magnaflow catalytic converter in April 2025. The purchase process was terrible. Bad communication. Delays in shipping, etc. Now it's 10 months later and the catalytic converter has FAILED. It will need to be replaced. The warranty process is a nightmare as Magnaflow requires that you go through the original seller, which is these guys. I'm no longer in the area where I was when it was installed, so I can't even go back there for installing a replacement. Meanwhile my car is NOT safe to drive, leaving me stranded in Los Angeles without dependable transportation as a disabled person. You do get what you pay for. I'm now suspecting that their prices are lower because they're selling defective parts. The guy who did the install insisted that he only needed to replace the center piece and not the pipes because the material of the Magnaflow pipes was inferior to the original parts on my car. I have a 2016 Kia Soul with 96,000 miles. The catalytic converter had failed at 90,000 miles. So this one has only 6,000 miles on it, and is now needing replacement. They are unreachable by email, and I suspect I'll be getting a runaround about this. read more

Bought their junk cat comverter for a 2019 Sierra. The exhaust shop said these rarely work with GMCs and mine was no different, it got a whole 330 miles before the light came back on. I had to buy the oem one and have that installed. They also advertise this part as stainless steel, I assure you it is not. Doesn't call a week later sit on hold for an hour, hang up and email them, wait 4 days for response of it hasnt shipped yet, then I respond with do you have an eta? I have mixed feelings about Hottexhaust. I placed an order on April 4, 2025 and it took exactly three months to get it fulfilled. Never got any updates and had to call Chris several times to see what what going on. He was responsive but I felt like I was getting the run around. Apparently, Magnaflow didn't have my catalytic converters for my F350 in stock yet I could order them from a big box store and have them in three days. WTF? I decided to be patient since I used hottexhaust's 20% off which saved me $500. I eventually got my cats and had them installed. Was it worth the wait? Yes but it shouldn't have to be that long. I then ordered another catalytic converter for my Honda and it came in three days. Very happy with that purchased and again used their 20% off coupon, saving $200. Overall, I would use them again but the time delay in my first order was very frustrating since I was without a vehicle on the road for three months. read more

I got strung along for weeks trying to order direct from Magnaflow for a new cat on my F-150. I finally contacted Chris at Hottexhaust. He was waiting the same as I was but at least got me in the queue. He hooked me up with an order and provided me a 20% discount to boot. When I got my catalytic converter in I was still somewhat skeptical with the fit prior to install. I contacted Chris again and he explained a few things I wasn't aware of. Bought a catalytic converter / exhaust system from them for a Mercedes CLK 430. As other reviewers noted this item is manufactured 4 inches too short to fit; was manufactured in 2024; you would have to add a pipe extension to make it work. Customer service (chrisr@hottexhaust.com)is a joke; nearly impossible to return, over 15 emails with pictures; after Magnaflow received it back Hottexhaust refused to issue a refund; had to get my credit card issuer to do a chargeback after I sent them all the info; don't buy here. read more

Horrible customer service! I will never order from them again. I ordered a part and paid the extra $80 shipping fee to receive the item in a timely fashion. I received an email 4-5 days later saying "delayed". No further info or link. Mind you they advertise that they ship in 24 hours. I waited over 2 weeks before reaching out over email. The response was, wait another 48 hours and see if it shows up. I did, and then I called. Only option was to leave a message, I did. Waiting another week. Sent another email and left another message. Never heard back from them. I finally filed a dispute with my bank because I had been ghosted. The item did eventually show up weeks and weeks later and I got my first email from the company from a real person asking about the dispute. I was wildly uncomfortable making an $800 purchase with them just to be ghosted. I would highly recommend buying else where for peace of mind. read more

I appreciated Chris from Hottexhaust Customer Service who updated me with a new manufacture date when I called nearly each month. Very, very troubling business practices. Hard to even believe they continue in business after so many years. After reading review after review of complaints and concerns consistent with my experience, I sure do belatedly realize my mistake in judgement to do business here. Do your research and ask yourself it it iws really worth the gamble. The catalytic converter that was indicated as 'direct-fit, OEM quality for my exact and detailed provided info turns out to be anything but. Denial and deflection now and after a lot of photos of the fitment issue, my VIN, my emissions sticker. If such additional info was necessary to get me the right part, why wouldn't they askfor it from the outset? Surely they have been in this business specialty long enough to have the sense as to how they need to go about particulars in order to create satisfied customers. Now I am trying to jump through all of the hoops for thjem to "authorize a return and get ALL of my money back. And it is just the runaround from them and their partner in crime, Magnaflow. It seems that they and their legal team have devised a clever scam in an effort to dodge having to accept returns. this is definitely not the earmarks of a successful business model that builds customer goodwill and trust. All I can say, is the only way to compel change is to hit them hard where it hurts-their short-sighted bottom line. Got to hand it to them, they are very competent con artists. Devise a trap by positioning their favorable online search presence and sit back and watch the suckers line up for a ride on their rotten, probably criminal, scammy behavior. Do yourself a huge favor and stay far, far away from them! There are numerous businesses where one can source the exhaust components. Even if for a higher price, it will prove to be cheaper in the end and less stressful. So just a word to the wise. Don't be like me and have to learn the hard way. Go ahead, do your own research on this company. Slow to ship without any eta updates wrong part difficult, probably impossible to get them to make remedy difficult or impossible to speak with them by email or phone nothing but running me in circles, probably to wear me down and just give up I did get a customer service to finally pick up only to hear "please hold" then he is gone. I do hold for over 10 minutes before he comes back and nothing in the 10 minute interim. How courteous and considerate is that? He says I need to contact Magnaflow to get return authorizatrion, which I do and am still tryinjg to get action , but then the runaround and phoney explanations begin. I refute these but no response. For instance Magnaflow tells me I need to go through Hott Exhaust as that is where I purchased. I wonder how long this back and forth is going to take. I emailed Hott Exhaust abouit this situation, asking for further assistance but so far zero response, I would call and maybe will but that is problematic-either no one picks up or I get a very prolonged hold. At least with email I have some sort of documentation. Huh? UPDATE: Since my earlier post, I have received a complete refund. I appreciate the efforts of MagnaFlow, particularly a supervisor there named Mike. I am still not sure I understand what is going on here, but I warn buyers to be aware that if it turns out that you are sent the wrong part from Hottexhaust, you will not get a full refund unless you are prepared to sue. In this instance, I am an attorney, so I have unlimited resources at my disposal should I feel a party is engaged in fraud, but not every online shopper has the ability to fight for their rights. I had already contacted the BBB and was prepared to contact all relevant agencies since this was an international matter, as Hottexhaust is headquartered in Canada. In short, subpoenas will be issued in a case like this during the initial "discovery" stage of litigation, wherein all communication between the respective parties - emails, texts, etc. - will be demanded. This, in order to determine if the parties are telling the truth regarding their innocence, or if they are colluding. In my case, Hottexhaust refused to issue a full refund because they claimed that MagnaFlow was charging them a restocking fee. Mind you, this was not $40 or $50 reasonable restocking fee, this was $209.40 that Hottexhaust was refusing to refund. This even though all of the information I provided, when completing the online order was 100% accurate. When I contacted MagnaFlow directly about this, they denied that they were charging a restocking fee. But even after I informed Chris at Hottexhaust of this fact, he still claimed that this money was going to MagnaFlow, and not that he was unjustly deducting this money for personal gain. Therefore, somebody is lying. Thankfully, after many more calls and emails, I have received a full refund. However, MagnaFlow is claiming that, even though the credit to my card came through Hottexhaust, it is MagnaFlow that is actually reimbursing Hottexhaust for the $209.40 out of their own pocket. MagnaFlow claims that they never deducted a restocking fee but, in order to maintain good customer relations, they are willing to pay this amount themselves. I will now update my complaint with the BBB with this new information. Again, I do not know if this is an organized scheme to defraud customers wherein the parties are fully aware that the wrong part may be shipped and where they know the return process will allow them to deduct money for a profit, but I do know that I will never make another purchase with Hottexhaust. Ordered a Catalytic Converter and it states my suburban's model but it doesn't fit properly at all. They refuse to take it back or refund me without a large restock fee and the shipping costs. I paid over $500 and they want $210 to return it. Sent them an email, then called (which is when they told me the fees), then have tried to get into contact again and have been unsuccessful. During the one phone call I had they told me to call other companies to try to sell it to them or sell private party. Completely unacceptable. read more

ASK ASK ASK a lot of questions about your exhaust application before spending the money and waiting 3 months to get your exhaust. This is after you already paid upfront. Recently I purchased a catalytic converter system, paid, and was told every 30 days my exhaust was almost gonna be built by Magnaflow, and shipped to Canada from California, then shipped to me. Received the system, beautiful system, had a technician with a lift install it for $250 labor, NOPE! Does fit! I call HOTT Exhaust to be told that if my car had any modifications, it might need further modification at my expense, but the warranty will be voided. No where on the HOTT exhaust website is it blatantly pointed out this latest disclaimer. The HOTT exhaust customer service rep said to call Magniflow to file a warranty claim, I did. Then I get told to take pictures, receive a claim number. I was told Magnaflow will pay for return shipping to California, but if the exhaust is deemed correct, at my expense I would have to pay for return shipiping. I'm a 20 year Magnaflow customer and will NEVER EVER buy one of their crap systems or anything Magnaflow again. Beware! read more

Poor customer service. I ordered at cat converter and paid for expedited service - 2 day delivery. After 4 days I called them and the order had not shipped - there was a "hang up" apparently. They told me they would call me in 3 days to update the status - that is 1 week after I ordered and 5 days after I should have received it.
