This spot is a little hole in the wall not too far from the Honda dealership off I20. The guy…read morerunning the place is a one-man cooking machine and he knows what he's doing. Burgers, pastas and a few other things, all done extraordinarily well. Like shocking amounts of flavor. If you're in the area and you have a chance to try it, don't hesitate. It's easy to find, there's plenty of parking, and you'll get to sample a truly local hidden gem where the owner is working the grill and putting his eyes on every plate. Stop in and try it. You'll be glad that you did.

Plate was heavy, albeit mostly noodles. Philly was made with whole chunks of steak and not ground meat. Plenty of seating inside. Soothing music played on the speakers. Coho or sockeye salmon was used, so chef didn't skip the health benefits of wild-caught fish. Cons: Philly looked to be missing the toppings. One portion looked like it was missing meat. Paid $9 more to add 3 stems of broccoli and 1 piece of chopped grilled chicken. I asked for my salmon to be cooked well done, but it was not due to the cashier typing "well done" under the broccoli add on. Meal was kinda pricey and while I did not mind paying for what I want...the amount of additional food vs the cost didn't add up. $4 for 3 stems of broccoli isn't right. One day, if we are in the area, I may return to try something different on the menu. Don't take my word for it. Try this restaurant out and leave a review on what you think.

Today I decided to do a random food pick on Uber Eats and I stumbled on Wylam Wings & Things. I was…read morelike hmmm never heard of them so I looked it up and food actually looked pretty good. I read a ton of reviews on Google Reviews after seeing they had a 3.9/5 stars. So I said it can't be that bad. On top of the bad reviews I noticed the owner had commented back to a lot of them and it was very rude and unprofessional comments and taking no ownership. A few of the bad reviews even said in them that the owner was very unprofessional. I also noticed from looking at my food and the food other people ordered, it's clear as day that there is no consistency whatsoever. With that being said let's get into what I ordered. Disclaimer: majority of the food showed up soggy due to the delivery and the driver delivered other food before mine but the food still showed up very hot and ahead of schedule so I'm not holding that against them. First up the Chicken & Waffles: Waffle was extremely bland and very tough. I chewed it for awhile before I was able to swallow it. That waffle took all the moisture out of my mouth I ran to grab a bottle of water. Chicken was okay decently seasoned but tasted like they only used salt. 6/10 I ordered a 4 piece Buffalo wings but what I received is a 4 and a half order of "Buffalo wings". On top of that they tasted like they were dunked in hot sauce and had a strong sour flavor. These were not Buffalo wings. You can even see where the butter separated from the sauce. The wings were worse than Little Caesars wings. 4/10 Chili cheese dog tasted like bologna and the chili itself tasted like a blander version of Hormel canned chili. 5/10 The Cheeseburger was rough it was clearly a processed frozen patty like you'd get out of a prison commissary vending machine or a school lunch cafeteria. It was a dry tire mess. 3/10 Lastly the cheese fries. I actually spit this out. The fries were soggy and not seasoned and the cheese was extremely sour it was clearly old cheese or just the worst cheapest brand of cheese you can buy or both. 0/10. I also ordered Tacos and I did not even get them. So on top of trash food I am missing food that I paid for. Will not try this again.

We ordered off of their lunch menu and got the short rib sandwich with brussels and their cobb salad. While I personally can use a bigger portion, I was not starving at the end of the meal lol. I guess it is good policy to leave people wanting more, right? Food was tasty overall and they definitely have some unique items or ingredients in their entrees. You will run probably at least around 30 dollars for two at lunch. We obviously caught them at a busy time even though we were the only two there at the beginning as they were expecting a large party and they were prepping catering food, but our food still came out within a reasonable amount of time. I did notice one of the chef on his phone one minute and then touching cooked food that he's serving the next to package it for catering....without washing his hands. I can't help but find that a bit gross when I consider how very dirty a phone is since that's literally something you touch all day, all the time, regardless of what you're doing. I will leave it at that, ha.

Introduction:…read more Representing Mississippi established restaurant for America 250 series is McAlister's Deli. I lived in Birmingham for a year mainly in 2010. Some states didn't have anything I could use looking up from Wikipedia and think it's dumb that I didn't have anything for AL as I did live there. But I have one I'll do for Alabama next in this same center, a local place. I lived & worked near this & Wal-Mart center across the street. Fun fact: I used to always comment how Wal-Mart is my closest grocery store when I lived in BHM. It was more than double the distance to Piggly Wiggly, Publix, etc. on the other side of I-65. Ironically, the closest grocery store to where I live now is also a Wal-Mart, but I have some more grocery options near me. Experience with McAlister's: The first time I ever went to a McAlister's was this location in Spring 2010 as a work lunch break option. Their strongest suit was the Sweet Tea! Very good sweet tea. The sandwiches were pretty good at a reasonable price; still reasonable for high 2026 standards. It was a nice place with tall ceilings as I recall. Staff was nice, never any issues the few times I went. I moved to the DC area in 2011. I went to the Front Royal, VA location on work travel a couple of times in 2015, but they pissed me off and wrote 2-stars in 2016, but that one is permanently closed. Multiple have opened since then closer to DC. I went to the 2nd one to open in Maryland for their grand opening in September 2025; see my 1st to review 4-star of the Hanover, MD one. Overall, I recommend McAlister's as they have some good sandwiches & salads, and they have a pick two, half sandwich/half salad option that is good option too.
