We stayed here when we wanted to go to an event at night over the border a little in NY, Danbury had the nicest hotels and this one looked good. I loved it and now want to go stay at their other hotels! We didn't eat in the hotel but I really wish we had, maybe next time. read more

What an amazing experience we had at Hotel Zero degrees. The Front Desk Manager, William Curley must be applauded. We came in the middle of a snowstorm and he did EVERYTHING possible to make our stay seamless and enjoyable. The staff of Valentina, Vincenza, and Yossef could not have done more for my daughter, my dog, Maddie and me. They were exceptional, and they were BUSY. There was even a lady cleaning up after every, single guests' dirty boots. And she was smiling!!. I was nervous we would lose power and what a comfortable atmosphere that was to calm our fears. What happened to this location? Rooms are still comfortable but lacking maintenance as they age. Breakfast is almost nonexistent Stuffed into a corner pocket room with no traffic flow as everyone gathers trying to get coffee. Front desk staff is friendly but not overly helpful. read more

My daughters and I visit North Salem, NY frequently for horse shows, so we've stayed at numerous hotels in the area. Hotel Zero Degrees is BY FAR better than any other hotel in the area. One pet peeve that I have about hotels is noisy guests. At the Hilton Garden Inn Danbury the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. This past visit at Hotel Zero Degrees there was a big party going on down by the lobby for an upcoming wedding, and I was worried that it would be noisy up by our room later that night. But no, it was nice and quiet, just like every other time we've stayed at this hotel (luck, maybe?). We were also on the 4th floor this time and heard no noise whatsoever. Breakfast is minimal but fine, coffee is very good, beds were comfortable (other than the pillows which are too thick) and the room was clean. Our dinner at Terra, the hotel's restaurant, was fantastic as usual. Very satisfied with our stay! read more

Had no idea this hotel existed until now! We had to stay here for longer than expected due to some plumbing issues at home. Our insurance company hooked us up with a king suite and it was definitely worth it. Love the clean, minimal looks of this hotel that is located in such an easy, accessible, area of Danbury. The hotel itself was very impeccable and the rooms spotless clean. The major complaint I have is you can hear EVERYTHING through the walls, so even though we were in a suite with an extra door, it's hard to get good rest with the guests making so many sounds, even the upstairs person was ridiculously stomping away to the point the room shook. So weird lol! My favorite part is they have a little cafe area where they have self serve Starbucks coffee all day. If you come early enough for breakfast you'll also get to have bagels, cereal, fruit and easy things like that. There's a beautiful gym right on the ground floor and awesome firepits in the back area. I LOVE the lobby, it's such a great spot to get some work done right from your laptop. The staff here is so nice and attentive. There are lots of events going on during the weekend so that might make things a little busier than the usual and there's also a restaurant on the premises. We didn't get to try it out but people were raving about it Due to covid, a few expected services are unavailable, daily room cleaning, or daily towel change. I stayed here for 3 or 4 days last year after returning from California with covid. My mother who I was staying with at the time is immunocompromised, so I had to ride out the virus in solitude at a hotel. Hotel Zero, I imagine, was meant to be a 'business traveler' hotel for the NYC folks who find themselves unfortunate enough to have to spend a couple days over state lines. By NYC standards I'd give it a solid 3.5, and by Danbury standards, a five, easily. The comforts and modern touches during my stay were satisfactory, and I found little overall to complain about. This will be my go-to hotel for any future instances in which I must return to Fairfield County despite all my inevitably desperate efforts to not. Stay tuned for updates. read more

Upscale boutique hotel with well appointed rooms, excellent shower, comfortable bed, and I especially liked the larger pillows which gave me better neck support for sleeping. Expansive lobby that was designed as a multi-use space and large outdoor seating area to hang out with friends. Terra is the restaurant in the lobby providing a large bar and finer dining than expected. I recommend reservations since the hotel guests can have large groups, especially in wedding season. Stayed here the night before my wedding and night of my wedding. Lobby is nice but it's Overpriced for what it is. I Reserved a suite which was clean and spacious but for the steep price it was underwhelming. Broken thermostat so I couldn't tell what the temperature was, button on thermostat was also broken. Vinyl plank was warped throughout the room. Wall paper peeling off. The bathroom was very nice and clean though. THE BED WAS HORRIBLE! No exaggeration, you can feel all the springs through the mattress, this was the biggest downside for me as Comfort is a main priority. I was going to switch to Ethan Allan hotel but had so much going on with getting married it wasn't feasible to pack my stuff check into a new hotel and make it to the ceremony on time. Front desk staff were not friendly upon check in, the next day it was different staff which were nicer. Private event held in the restaurant on Friday 9/15 which I understand but at 10:30pm I wanted a drink and couldn't get one. Saturday night the bar was closed at 11:30pm. For $500 a night I expected much more. read more

I've stayed here twice in the past year (9/20 and 10/21) for two weddings, for a total of 4 nights. The hotel is pretty on the outside and is also nice on the inside. Check-in and check-out were both easy, and the employees were all polite and friendly. The amenities are fair. There is no breakfast service at all, which was a bit disappointing. However, they do provide a list of places nearby that you can grab a bite at. The hotel bar closes incredibly early... something like 10 or 11 even on weekends, which is a bummer. On that note, the food and drink is quite good at the on-premises restaurant. The wedding in 2020 that we attended was actually located in the restaurant, and they did a very nice job, especially considering all of the limitations that COVID required. We did not encounter any major issues during our stays, we would stay here again if we were in the area. The price is good and the location of the hotel is convenient. read more

All of the good reviews are from young people who think this hotel is "upscale". Its a smoke & mirror scam. The lobby is nice, that's where it starts & ends. I specifically requested a room away from anyone where I might hear noise. The geniuses at the front desk put me in btw several rooms with noisy people. Then when I asked for another room, the genius that came brought a key for 1 room. That 1 room had a smell from the prior person in it (smell like food) but I kept it because I was exhausted & the guy that brought the key acted hostile & annoyed. When I asked why he didn't have a key to try multiple rooms, he said that "they were working w/me & I had to work w/them. I'll leave the rest to the pics I post. We recently stayed here for my cousin's wedding, at the end of the night my cousin (the brother of the bride) was exhausted and fell asleep. My cousin is disabled, on a fixed income and helped pay for the wedding. I hung up his suit jacket for him as we left in the closet of his room, the following morning was hectic and required shuttling visiting family to airports. He unfortunately left the suit jacket behind. Despite multiple phone calls, the hotel was unable to find it. Knowing that i hung the jacket in his room, I'm led to sadly believe one of two things. The suit jacket was either thrown away or one of the staff members stole it. Im not sure which bodes worse, hotel staff is incompetent and cares very little about the guest experience and their belongings or they are simply walking off with guest belongings. Loud music and events trump your right to have a quiet night at this hotel. It's 10:49 at night. We're on the second floor. There are competing speakers blasting music from somewhere in the hotel. One pair is likely coming from an event that must be very loud in the lobby. There is a DJ. The other speakers may be from a guest in an adjacent room. I called the front desk about 30 minutes ago and was told the agreement I signed said loud noises are allowed until midnight. She said she will tell them to turn it down. I swear it has gotten louder. Because of these loud noises, this hotel just lost us as future guests. We have family in Danbury and would be staying here every quarter. This is our second night here. No more. Loud music is obviously how the hotel wants to make its income. This is shameful and an insult to the guests. read more

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Very clean throughout the entire hotel, from the rooms, to the lobby, to the lobby bathrooms, to the gym, everywhere was always spotless. Very friendly staff, very welcoming and accommodating. continental breakfast was delicious and again staff was on top of replenishing and cleaning up immediately. I wish I could give above 5 stars for the general manager Nick. After a small mix up, Nick contacted me immediately and resolved it. Nick went above and beyond, and I greatly appreciate it. This is my FAVORITE hotel in this area. I love the feel of this place so modern with a European flare. The rooms are so comfortable and inviting. I love the beds, the pillows and the cooling and heating system I'm never too hot or too cold I can adjust it to the perfect temp. The walk in shower is really pretty with perfectly warm water. The rooms are so clean. I've stayed in a single room and the suite. The suite has a kitchenette and living room. Kitchenette includes a sink, microwave, refrigerator, cabinets. Living room has a couch, coffee table and tv . The bedroom also has its own tv . I love the floor to ceiling windows and the separation of the living room and the bedroom. Staying here for an extended period of time has made me feel really at home. The staff is so nice and I appreciate how much they care. This hotel also has a Restaurant down stairs called Terra. The food and drinks are superb. It's modern Italian with everything from calamari, to burgers to pasta dishes and chicken and meat . There is something for everyone. read more

The hotel and rooms are modern and upon first arrival, they looked clean. Due to covid, any room amenities such as coffee, glasses, extra blankets, must be requested from front desk. Staff was accommodating and professional. The walls and ceiling are thin and not sound proof. You can clearly hear conversations in the surrounding rooms all night long and I think they may be keeping large animals on the floor above our room. You can hear VERY loud foot steps all the time. After a restless night we discovered silverfish crawling around on the bathroom floor in the morning. This place is probably really fun for groups and people who like to party. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this is probably not the place for you. read more

Stayed here for 4 days for my grandsons wedding. Young ladies at the front desk served my husband and I very poor customer service. As we arrived to our destination on floor 3, there was a very potent unwelcoming stench of marijuana and wet dog! The hallways had dirt and dust debrese everywhere! So much for $280.00 spent. I also noticed the housekeepers on my floor werent vacuuming. I had questioned one of the housekeepers if they could vacume my floor, as that also had hair from the previous person. The young women showed me their vaccumes are broken, and they use large lint rollers to clean the floor. I was in shock! If you need a hotel to stay at for your money's worth. I went during a cold night so I couldn't use the outdoor facilities but the fire pit and outdoor bar both look great for a fall or early spring outing. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The only draw backs were that the A/C, heating unit is somewhat loud and the pillows were hard. In total, though, I'd stay here again. read more

Disappointing that during our stay here there was a terrible stench of sewer/ rotten eggs in our room. The staff was not able to identify the source of the smell nor address the issue. The hallways are heavily perfumed, which leads me to believe this is an issue and they receive thus complaint often but are not able to rectify it. read more

This was my second stay and the hotel is nice. The seller is the outdoor seating that is really stunning. Both visits the cleanliness was lacking. Our last stay we found a disgusting stain on the sofa with hair included (see picture) and what appeared to be snot on the shower walls. There was also a dirty tissue found as well as finger prints on a lot of the surfaces. I think it's about time to find another hotel in the area. read more

CONVINCED this is the nicest hotel in Danbury. I would surely come back again. Check in: the process was seamless, was asked for a credit card for incidentals and an ID to confirm the name on my credit card. The employees were all smiles and very helpful Decor: this is a new hotel, still had a new smell on the floor I was staying on and I believe there was still a bit of construction underway but other than that the hotel was SO nice. ( see the photos attached) Technical applications: had no trouble with the TV, lights or shower working/running Food: there was a wedding party going on in the bar area when I checked in so I was not able to try to the food at the restaurant but the breakfast ( included in my room) was pretty standard - eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. along with various fruit juices. Location: the hotel is a bit outside of downtown Danbury but not too far away that discouraged me from going and getting papa John's ( look into restaurants that delivered as upon arriving back with papa John's in hand, I saw a papa John's delivery car in the front of the hotel) and is across the street from a Hospice Bonus: because of some issues getting out of the hotel, I asked to check out a little later than I should have which I believe was 12pm but was allowed 1pm for free which was really nice! So happy to have found this hotel online. Driving from New York to Boston, we needed a place to stay and we were so happy with the results! A new hotel (you can still smell the paint!) and very clean and modern. The free breakfast in the morning was very good (get the yogurt!!) And the customer service was impeccable! The rooms are spacious, and very clean and nice. I love the space in the shower, too. The sink on the other hand needed some work. The spout is a little too close to the edge making a puddle of water every time you washed. The reason for the one star knock off then? In the morning, I wanted to heat up some food and so I opened the microwave and inside was some chicken (rotting). Of course, this was probably from a previous guest and the staff forgot to check the microwave. I get it, it happens, but this is a brand new hotel and it should be part of protocol from the very beginning to check the refrigerator and microwave. After telling the front desk, he was nice enough to take $100 off of our bill. That was very generous of him, so if I could, I would probably give this hotel 4.5 stars. It's a BEAUTIFUL hotel - we'll start with the positives. Stylish and cool and the restaurant was a dream. I recommend the pork chop for dinner. The bad news: the hotel has the worst pillows of any place I've stayed in recent years. I'm not one of THOSE people who are into pillows and bring my own along. But - what was provided there were BRICKS of dense and unforgiving wads of something-or-other material. It only became clear as the night progressed - after tossing around most of the night trying to find some way to get comfortable and I woke up with a bad neck. Boo. The other bad news was the weekday breakfast buffet. It was chaotic and they had no tea with caffeine in it. All they had left was some sort of decaffeinated lemon tea. As a non-coffee drinker - I was deeply annoyed. Bad neck and now nothing to give me a jump start. Lastly - we went to this hotel because our client was very nearby and were told to count on the shuttle for back and forth travel. Nope. The shuttle was mostly occupied elsewhere for long stretches and we had to locate a ramshackle taxi driver to take us back to the hotel - who didn't end up being able to take credit cards. Annoying. Bonus round: they have business center in the lobby - 2 computers with a printer. BUT - the paper for the printer was the wrong size and kept jamming. No one in the hotel (for our entire stay - 2 days) was able to locate normal sized printer paper. read more

Nice, but no pool. Bummer! We stayed there in a suite bc we needed a fridge and micro. This is only in the suites I was told over the phone. facing the woods and that was a mistake. People are using the patio ( outside bonfire) at all times of the night and so if you don't mind being up until 2am with people laughing and being super loud at ALL times then that's the right way to have your room face. We should've asked to face the hospice side. Depressing but at least it would've been quieter I think. FYI, there's a "hospice rate" if needed, but they don't say anything about it in their website. Nice room but there's no dressers or extra blanket. Odd. Flooring in main room is cheap laminate that's bubbling up so walking on it feels weird. Nice nook with coffee (Starbucks), hot cocoa, oatmeal and tea in lobby. Avail at all times. Kcup mach in room w Starbucks. Weird security sys that only has the elevator get off at your floor or the main lobby floor. That's it. We stayed on the 4th floor, but ice machine was on the 3rd floor. We couldn't get to it from the elevator. Found out from front desk that we could only access it from the stairs. read more

I was in town from Friday to Sunday morning attending a funeral. I need to point out specifically that while my room was great, the grounds were immaculate and beautiful, the STAFF is what made my visit. They were so kind and friendly upon check in and super helpful throughout my stay. Check out was a breeze and I truly appreciate the other staff members like housekeeping and grounds team members who would say hi to me as I walked by. It was weird not seeing hardly any guests wearing masks but I'm from Washington DC so I guess CT is different but I appreciate the staff wearing masks. I'm vaccinated so I guess natural selection will do what it will do. Anyway, thanks to the awesome front desk team for having such a friendly disposition - made my stay one where I'll come back to visit family again. read more

Booked a double bed room for 2 nights. Check in was great ( 2 ladies working reception, one did have a slight attitude) Hotel was very modern, clean and quiet ( or so we thought). Our first night was great, the second day we left our room at 8:00am and returned around 6:30pm. As soon as we stepped off the elevator we were greeted with a very strong smell of weed. In my mind i knew it had to be some young idiots that came across $150 and thought " why dont we go get a room and get stoned in it" I mean whatever live your life but if im paying $$ to get a good nights rest in a nice hotel while having my 7 year old with me you better take your nasty ass to the roach motel to get high. That night ended with the smoke detectors going off within 30 mins of us being in the room. Everyone had to leave the hotel and go outside into the cold rain until the firefighters came to investigate. After 15 mins of that fun stuff we returned to a smelly smoke filled hallway to see the girl from reception that kept asking " did you guys call? No im not a snitch mam'. So what are my final thoughts? Hotel was good clean and quiet for the most part. I wouldnt return due to the reception lady being unprofessional. No room service either due to covid. No hot breakfest, and no coffee cups or pods in the rooms, which makes having the coffee machine pointless in your room if you have to keep going downstairs for everything. read more

Nice newer hotel. Rooms are spacious and decorated with modern touches. Breakfast is complimentary and although a bit limited on the selections, good quality. No big issues but more of an odd experience. When we checked into the room there weren't any wash cloths in it. When I called the front desk the response was they're were sorry but they were washing them and they'd send some up later. Huh? How is it a hotel doesn't have enough clean towels. The facet in the bathroom was odd as well, nice looking but not very functional. It's set back from the sink and it's not very long, so when you wash your hands water ends up running all over the counter top. read more

Really solid. Easily one of the nicest hotels i have ever stayed at. We stayed during COVID and still there wasn't a huge impact to service or what they provided. It would have been nice to use the lounge areas more off the lobby but i wasn't really sure how that was working. They have a couple of nice fire pit areas just outside the building too. Word of warning, the restaurant doesn't have anything to do with the hotel (or so they say) so you they basically treat you like you are any other person walking in off the street even if you are staying in the hotel. Rooms were really nice and luxurious loved the shower and beds. I would happily stay here again with one reservation, the room we stayed at was next to the elevators, it took until like 2 AM until there wasn't a constant parade of people waiting and getting off the elevator shouting. There was a gap at the bottom of the door big enough to slide a towel through, ultimately I needed to drop all the towels on the floor to avoid continuously being woken up. Contacted the hotel about that and the concern of the heavy smell of propane in the lobby in the morning, received an apology and 1/4 my cost of rent back. read more

Lovely location and the space is beautiful. It is so sad that the attention to details have been lost or are sorely lacking. Traveling with son on a college tour. At check in, the girl who was flustered gave us room 309 on our key pack. Get in elevator and doors shut and we follow the key card instructions on the elevator wall and we go NO where.... kept on trying and we move only to have been signaled by housekeeping going up from the back entrance on the second floor. Housekeeper took use to 3rd floor. Get to room and the door keys DO NOT work! I leave my son at door and travel back to the front desk and she tells me she forgot to change my room number on the key packet. Now I'm in room on 2nd floor and son is on 3rd floor! They have to make a key that allows me entrance to that floor too! I'm in my room and decided we were beat and ordered room service, no room service number. Ordered food and no condiments. And the number one thing, they didn't have the glass of wine I ordered. They Just forgot to order. Luckily the best hotel employee, the room service guy, was amazing and ran back down to get my ordered wine. Time to clean up, there was no wash cloths! What? Did they not restock the room or clean it? Missing items... was cloth, one hand towel, coffee supplies and cups! Lovely local and rooms but please take the time to make all parts of this property an amazing experience. Details are important when charging prime rates! read more

Five stars! I travel and stay in hundreds of hotels. This boutique hotel touches all the bases. Rooms are generous size but if you get a suite that makes a very nice difference. Nestled in a wooded area there is a patio with benches seating fire pit umbrellas and a serene area in which to enjoy the outside area. While in the lobby, it is also very spacious and comfortable. If you are a business person you can conduct interviews or meetings in the spacious lobby. The food is average for breakfast meaning powdered eggs sausage and of course potatoes but this is not the restaurant. Really good coffee though! As for the on-site restaurant, this is a restaurant that should be a Destiination while you're in Danbury. The food is top quality and well prepared with great specials. I've been here a couple of times for conferences and the lunches that they prepared for us were supremely over par. read more
