I met the employee Oscar. Very friendly such an asset to the courtyard I called the front desk twice plus went down to front desk no answers about no tv channels. I was told maintenance manager is on his way in. After 1 1/2 hours I saw Oscar in hallway and explained my problem He had it fixed in 10 min. I appreciate him. Super nice he is the best I'm from NH but if I ever come back I'd stay only because of him read more

Do not stay here if you're from a hockey team. The front end hotel staff was not only non accommodating, but our team, and the other team there were harassed and threatened. One of the staffers followed children into my hotel room, when we sent them up for quiet relax time, and held the door oden while trying to go in. It was incredibly stressful for the kids on the team. They didn't try to work with either team, they just wanted to kick us out. Between the 2 team there, we brought the hotel in $25,000 (easily) that weekend. But they treated us so poorly. read more

Dog complaint Is this place a hotel or a kennel? People are walking dogs up and down the hallways as if they are comparable to children ie: walk outside and somebody is standing over a dog either picking up dog poo or the dog is squatting with his tail turned up, passing gas and feces? We came for a vacation and a holiday, not to watch people swoon over dogs barking, yipping while dog owners create dissonance in a place of relaxation for people - please get a pet sitter so that people who want to enjoy holidays with other people can do so! There is a breakfast bar there where food is sitting out and we do not want to see you handling dogs or bags full of dog poo! read more

Nicely renovated, and staff were lovely. Shout-out to Sarah for putting us in the perfect room for our needs. TV was a little confusing, but worked out in the end. Would certainly recommend! read more

I was here on business last week and stayed three nights. I was really pleased with all of the hotel staff that I encountered. The front desk team was great and answered all of my questions, and the people working in the mornings and the evening at the restaurant/bar were outstanding too. I had breakfast each morning at the hotel and really liked the offerings, albeit a little pricey for a glass of wine. The hotel lobby was nice and bright and I hung out there watching TV and doing a little work in the evenings. The lobby had USB and electrical outlets all over the place for charging of your laptop and cell phones.. something a lot of other hotels sometimes overlook. I'm not a messy person and the number of towels they stock in the hotel rooms can get me by for several days, so I elected to get the extra points and skip housekeeping while I was there. When I arrived the room was nice and clean and I didn't have any issues with it other than a somewhat lumpy (old) mattress. I'll be back in town on a fairly regular basis for the next year and won't hesitate to stay here again. read more

Courtyard by Marriott - Nice lobby area - Hotels Near Me - Danbury, Connecticut

It is a Monday night at the Danbury, CT Marriott Courtyard. The time is 7:15pm. There is a loud base sound that actually vibrates the windows of my room. It is from a Mexican restaurant next door. I have talked to the receptionist twice. Other guest have complained as well. I was told there is nothing that they can do about the loud base sound because the restaurant has a permit. The Courtyard has not worked with the city to stop this noise pollution. I do not know how I am going to sleep. My suggestion is to stay away from this hotel until this problem is addressed. read more

Stayed here one night last Tuesday. Very friendly and accommodating staff. This was the night of the storm and Danbury lost all power. The staff handed out flashlights to all the rooms. I was surprise they did not have an emergency generator but it actually wasn't bad, I was able to get some well needed rest. read more

Stayed here for one night. My room was very nice. King bed with large couch in the room All the usual amenities you would expect. Refrigerator, hair dryer, coffee machine, etc. Beef was comfy, bathroom was nice. Check in and out were quick and easy. Small indoor pool near the lobby. Lobby sells snacks and there is a place to get coffee, etc. The hotel is next to a shopping center which has a couple of places to eat so that is nice. The is also an Orange Theory right there. I would stay here again. read more

Nice hotel. The staff was very friendly. The room was cozy and clean. The beds are comfortable. There is a sofa bed but I didn't use it. The room comes with a refrigerator which is always a plus. There is a small pool with hot tub that was wonderful after the drive there. I'd definitely stay here again! read more

Jennifer and Silvia are Rockstars! I never wrote a review before and created a Yelp account just to recognize these two ladies going above and beyond that of a "common" employee in their position and showing explementary service. Back Story- We had a Venue Cancellation around the Philadelphia area at the last minute for one of our children's sports activities, due to the Canadian Wildfires. We were able to transfer to the Connecticut Venue around this location and initially looked at Hotels/ B&B's closer to the site and figured we would make a mini vacation out of it as we had/ have never been to Connecticut. Everything within a 20 min or so radius was completely booked, didn't offer rooms for a family of 5, didn't have adjoining rooms, etc. After broadening the radius, I narrowed the choices down to about 3 options... Dreading the phone call, thinking I will hit the same set of problems or at least eat it and have to pay for two adjoining rooms. I called this location first, spoke with Jennifer and Silvia and they immediately took the stress off my shoulders! They were genuinely interested in my visit and how they can make the best of our experience, knowledgeable on attractions/ history of surrounding area, etc. After establishing the best set up, they were diligent in trying to find any offers/ promos available. I mentioned in passing about being a veteran and they do offer discounts. I must say Courtyard is very, very generous with their veteran/ military discounts. In closing, these two ladies are assets while being Liaison's and Ambassador's to the Courtyard name and the State of Connecticut. If their customer service and professionalism is the standard among the Courtyard Brand, coupled with the generous military appreciation, they sold me and I will be a customer for life. As our kids get older, we find ourselves traveling more and staying in hotels. Due to this experience, I have no desire to look for anything other than a Courtyard... Lot of pressure Courtyard, don't mess it up! lol. read more

This courtyard was convenient for a wedding we were attending, just off I-84. The lobby is new and all the common areas were very clean. The rooms are quite outdated though. For example, there were no USB ports anywhere, TV was old, the bathroom light fixture above the sink didn't work and all the finishes are from 15+ years ago with lots of wear and tear showing. I did appreciate having the small fridge and coffee maker in the room. As of June 2022, they are not offering housekeeping unless requested. read more

When we made reservations for this hotel, my son was told he could have a pull out bed. When we arrived there was no pull out bed. I complained to the front desk explaining I have a 20 year old autistic son and an 18 year old son with epilepsy and we needed 3 beds as promised. When the manager stated that she couldn't accommodate me, I asked for a discount for the huge inconvenience as now one of us had to sleep on the floor. She refused. You would think that a mom traveling with two special needs sons would be accommodated, but she flat out refused. I am disgusted at this and would strongly suggest staying away from this hotel. I would give it zero stars if that were an option. STAY AWAY! read more

Clean, comfortable and convenient! Because they hit a 3 key areas for me they get 4 stars. Modern look and feel for a Courtyard with nice feel inside. They have the Bistro for a drink or quick bite. I ordered the Margherita Pizza to take back to the room and it was better than expected. I was given a room upgrade which was very large with a separate living area separate from the bedroom. Nice and comfortable. If travel takes you through Danbury and your need a place to stay then I'd recommend a stay at the Courtyard. read more

Exceeded my expectations for a small biz hotel in the middle of nothing. The bed was a little soft but hotel was super quiet and I slept like a baby. Facilities are modern and clean. Check in fast abs efficient (if not that friendly). The best surprise was breakfast at the bistro cafe downstairs. They are super friendly and fast. Loved the fresh strawberries, breakfast croissant sandwich and Starbucks chai latte. read more

Super clean and new/ modern. Comfortable beds & friendly staff. Changed my preconceived notion about Courtyard!

My room was great!! I went to the hotel bar to get a drink and they were completely unresponsive. Incredibly disappointing. I ended up walking across the driveway to the Steak restaurant, where they were wonderful. read more

I've spent more time than i'd like at this Marriott (I love my job), but it's a solid choice for the lonely business traveler. Yes, there's a lack of good restaurants nearby and yes, the bedsheets are annoyingly scratchy, but it's a Courtyard, and consistency is king . As an understudy of supply chain management, quality/process improvement, and Six Sigma methodology, the variance of quality of my stays at this Courtyard is markedly tolerable. As a six sigma nerd, i'm secretly pleased by this fact - though I still detest the scratchy sheets. read more

I wish I could put zero stars. One star is far far too generous. I'm a lifetime marriott platinum member - I put in roughly 150+ nights a year for 6 years - and had my wedding guests stay here two weekends ago. Everything they promised was complete bull. First we were given a tour and shown the suite we would have for our first night as a married couple. That didn't happen. They sold it instead. I was also told I would get a room Friday night so we could do our last night before marriage away from one another. Also didn't happen. No reservation. 0-2. We were given a room block of 40 rooms 10 months before our wedding. On Tuesday before our Saturday wedding I got a call letting me know they were oversold and we're going to bump 4 of my rooms. I guess they know how to take the reservation, they just don't know how to KEEP the reservation. Only after I made an issue of it did they finally offer to comp one night at a different hotel for these guests (the holiday inn across the street which my guests said was actually nicer). All of this leaves out the other issues. They were entirely unresponsive, rude, and disinterested throughout the process. Mistakes happen but when they're 0-4 on follow through for someone in their top 1% of customers imagine how they'll treat you. So, do yourself a favor and find another hotel. DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE. It's stressful enough without dealing with this incompetence. read more

I stayed at this hotel for two nights while attending a wedding. Upon checking in, I went up to my room where the light in the bathroom was blinking and I was right outside the elevator. This initially really annoyed me, but when I called down to the front desk, they were very accommodating. They sent someone up to fix the light right away - which was good for the next person - and also sent someone up with the keys to my new room. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size. The curtains completely covered the windows, which was nice because sometimes you get that one line that's not completely covered and then the sun beams in your eyes. The ac kicking on was not loud, like it is in some hotel rooms and I was able to keep the room at a comfortable temperature for me. The parking lot is weird though. There's not a lot of parking out front and when you park out back, you have to walk all the way to the front of the hotel to get back in again because none of the side doors work. When its raining and cold, this is not ideal. read more

Had a very nice stay here--no complaints. The room was clean (except for what looked like an advil in the corner on the rug), staff was pleasant and check in and check out was smooth. read more

There is nothing extremely wrong or extremely great about this place... I didn't have a chance to try their restaurants there, but they do have a few restaurants next door, that looked good. The rooms are clean, but small; They have Paul Mitchell shampoo/conditioner in the bathroom, which is a plus, but I think for the size of the rooms, compared to the hotels in the area, it seems to be overpriced... This would be ideal for someone traveling on business...The room with a king bed would definitely not fit more than 2 people... read more

Nice new or remodeled feel. Not sure if this hotel is brand new or has just had a thorough remodel - it seems brand new. The breakfast bar in the lobby is well done also - makes for a great meeting spot for groups - and snacks always help. I would stay here again. No complaints - only praise. read more

Pros: 1) There is one in a place like Danbury, CT. 2) Rooms and the hotel very clean 3) The Bistro food is great 4) A lot of restaurants and shops within minutes. Cons: 1) At 9:55 p.m. I made a call to The Bistro downstairs to order food. I was told that The Bistro is closed when the timing is till 10 p.m. I understand that Thursdays are slow and the guy perhaps just took off a few minutes early. But upon asking "now that the restaurant is closed, is there another way to order food from Marriott, meaning is there another restaurant within Marriott?", I received a response "well I am not trained to cook, so no!". I not only found it weird and rude, but funny at the same time. The lady at the reception is usually nice. One star off. 2) There was no hot water (lukewarm) for two straight days but they eventually fixed the problem. But that the problem occurred in the first place and no one noticed it until 10 of us complained, made me take another star off. 3) 2 Treadmills, one bike, one elliptical machine, and weights in the gym. The hotel probably has 100+ rooms and they were claiming every day that they're sold out. I find the ratio messed up. I personally never had to wait, so no stars taken off because of this. Three stars are still on there. read more

Great Hotel! Only stayed one night for business, but the room was quiet, IMMACULATE - in fact, the Hotel is modern, bright, clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff, and the Starbucks on site (while a bit pricey) was convenient for quick breakfast. Would gladly stay here again. read more

Have had a great experience so far. The first front desk woman was very short with us. Was not pleasant at all. The second gentleman was very nice. The pool is small but the rooms are amazing. The jacuzzi tub is incredible! Get yourself some bubble bath! read more

This is August and week SEVEN of no air conditioning in the hallways and common areas, and the staff simply doesn't seem to care. Apparently the owner foolishly bought some cut-rate A/C unit from China that is now broken and requires parts from overseas. Meanwhile, the hallways and elevators are stifling, stinky, and unsanitary. I am checking out in the morning and spending the remainder of my three weeks in Danbury at a different hotel. I would suggest avoiding this Courtyard if at all possible. There are two other Marriott properties in Danbury. read more

I stayed here over the Thanksgiving Holidays, and I must say that it was a very nice and comfortable stay. It is a very convenient hotel to a lot of restaurants and shopping on both Newtown and Federal Road. And it is also very convenient to I-84 and US-6 without the noise of both roads. The hotel is in very good condition, very clean and my room was also clean and comfortable. I didn't have any problems with sleeping or noise. The room was comfortable, temperature wise as well. Most of the hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The one exception was an older man, who was working in the restaurant. He was obviously overwhelmed by the three customers in the dining area. He said to me, "Hang on, I be with you in a minute." It was more like five, and when he finally did get to me, he just kind of looked at me, and said "Yes?" And I asked him if he had any Yuengling Beer. He pointed at a display of ice beers and said, "what you see is what I have." And then he turned back to the grill. Needless to say, I avoided the cafe area for the rest of my trip. The only other small issue that I have was the cable/satellite offerings were very basic. They did offer Internet TV, which Netflix, HULU, YouTube, etc, but the internet connection was SUPER SLOW, and it buffered quite a bit. It was strange, because the WIFI was fine. Both of these issues were very minor, and when I'm back in the Danbury area, I will be inclined to stay here again. The price was right and the hotel is very nice. I do recommend it. read more

This Marriott is just ok. I have stayed here numerous times as it is close to one of my work sites. They staff is friendly, but I always seem to have some minor issue when I am there. Most recently it was that the hairdryer was missing and it took them 40 minutes to "run one right up". If it was not so close, I might switch to the Springhill, which I liked better and had a free breakfast. read more

Clean, quiet and new. The decor was nice the room was modern, with vibrant colors and textures, nice flat screen TV with HD channels. Shower pressure was good, I wish they had a shelf or table in the bathroom the sink is outside the door and they leave the soaps out there. BUT... The beds are firm some people like that I was not a fan, the pillows are small and all the same level of comfort (no options on firm or soft) and the thread count of the linens was low and itchy. Did not have a chance to have breakfast, the pool and hot tub area looked clean. The beds are the only reason I gave it 3 stars. If the bed was softer and the sheets were higher thread count I guess the room wouldn't be as cheap as it was but I would have given then 5 stars. read more

My second stay in the hotel. The rooms are spacey and clean. Unfortunately I wasn't able to open my room window on the hotel's back side. The staff is professional and very friendly. The only downside is the breakfast, served by Starbucks. It is not bad, but a bit boring if you spend there more than 2 or 3 days. Definitely a good place to stay, the location is good (close to Walmart). read more

This is a nice hotel with a very hospitable staff and a very toasty hot tub! Only had the opportunity to stay here for one night during travel, but I really enjoyed my time here. The hotel is clean, well-staffed, conveniently located near town, and has beautiful landscaping! The staff was incredibly friendly and willing to help! After arriving at about 10pm I realized that we would be needing extra blankets and pillows for the pull-out bed. After a quick trip to the front desk (probably around more like 11pm) I was given two blankets and room service quickly made two trips (because I didn't hear them the first time! Haha, the struggle was real but they were so polite!) to my room to bring extra pillows. Truly above and beyond their job description! The room was spacious with a king-size bed, large flatscreen tv, and couch (with full-size pullout bed). The room set-up was convenient, with the bathroom vanity open to the room, while the rest of the bathroom was separate. Room included mini fridge and coffeemaker. If you are looking for a great place to stay, I would say you have found it! Definitely recommend! read more

Just ok. This used to be my preferred chain when I travelled a lot on business in the 80s and 90s. This time I noticed a drop off in amenities at the same time that the pricing seemed a bit high. The only coffee available in the morning was Starbucks which needed to be purchased at Starbucks prices. read more

On vacation with a family of 6 so getting two rooms is necessary. We checked in late at 10;30 pm; the staff was courteous and got is quickly checked in with adjoining rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A great one night stay to start off our vacation. Thank you Marriott. read more

I stayed at the Marriott last week as part of a wedding block. The hotel over booked and had to relocate a number of guests across the street to the Holiday Inn. It was a large inconvenience to the Bride and Groom who had to help coordinate that along with everything else they had going on. The flip side though was the Holiday Inn was nicer so at least we had that benefit. read more

I have stayed in a lot of hotels. Let's say I am a very frequent traveler and I know what to expect from a Courtyard. The services in this particular Courtyard is just poor. My wake up call never happened. I called down to the front desk and they didn't answer. They have management issues. read more
