For our last few days in Paris, we stayed at the Hotel Victoria Chatelet. It's been quite some time since we stayed here, but I want to at least report what I do remember of it!
The Hotel is fairly centrally located and easy to get to the rail system. This is primarily the reason why we stayed here at the last few days of our trip as we needed to easily get to the train to the airport.
When we arrived to check in, we waited about 20 minutes as our room was going to be ready and we weren't in a rush, so it was nice to be able to settle in and have our stuff stored in our own room versus in the back. Be ready to lug your stuff up the stairs and hope you only brought the minimal amount of stuff.
The room is small as expected, but it was not bad. Only weird thing was that the toilet was near the bed on the opposite side of the sink with the shower. The key is large and unwieldy but it's expected that you leave it at the front desk. That's what's pretty nice is that there's always someone at the front desk.
Only thing which was not great was that each time a train came by (under ground) the whole place would shake. The toilet would rattle which was not so great if you're a light sleeper. Other than that, it was okay to stay for a night or two but I wouldn't stay here for more than that. read more
