Location location location! The hotel is so convenient. It's within easy walking distance for 2 breakfast spots and a lot of lunch/dinner restaurants, and shopping, plus the pier and the beach. We booked thru trip advisor which was quite reasonable, but the hotel website itself also offers specials so check that out first. We got a king ocean view. The room was on the fourth floor (they have elevators) and had a balcony and gorgeous views of the beach (and sunrises). There are blackout curtains should you wish to sleep late. The room was quite large -- in addition to the king bed there was another area with a sink next to the fridge and microwave. The large open closet area also has an in room safe, ironing board, and iron. Plus there are beach towels and two beach chairs, as well. The modern bathroom has an in tub/shower and a hairdryer plus the usual. Towels were plentiful -- thick white ones. It was an easy walk from the hotel over the boardwalk to the beach. They also have two pools. We visited the tiki bar for a drink when we arrived. We didn't use room cleaning services, but just exchanged towels for a fresh set one day. The hotel is not new -- you can see all the historic photos posted in the elevator. But it had all the necessary amenities and was comfortable. We'd stay here again.

The sand was so hot here I thought I was on an episode of the floor is lava

We only booked the day room so we would have a changing room and some were cool to hang while on Tybee for the day. The accommodations were decent but the check-in process is horrible. Do not recommend unless you come early and have patience.

The location of the hotel is the ONLY reason for 2 stars. With the number emails you receive prior to your stay you would expect a much more customer oriented experience. Our stay started with being told about a fee for an early check-in even though we were 20 minutes before the check in time AND our room was already ready.. The room wasn't great, see photos. My shoes stuck to the bathroom floor so I refused to walk around barefoot. Next morning, I just wanted to get a shower and get out. It would have been nice had their been any hand soap, body wash or shampoo/. This propery is not even worth the $210 that we paid.

They've updated some things which is cool. Because for a very long time this place out dated and over priced. You can still see things that need upgrading, but an overall pleasant stay.

Location and the nice gentleman that works at the Tiki bar are the only good things about this place, other than that everything else was bad. Price is high for what you get. We got 2 rooms. The hotel is not in good conditions. There was absolutely no body wash or hand soap in the containers in both rooms! Had to use shampoo. Rooms weren't very clean and everything was rusted and dated. We are on vacation, trying to sleep in a little... we'll that didn't happen! Landscaping company started mowing and blowing right outside our room shortly before 8. If this place was maybe cheaper it would be somewhat ok dealing with these issues but definitely not for the piece we paid.

Soap dispenser was filthy. Not sure what brown goo was all over it.

This hotel is the grossest I've ever stayed in. Our room was disgusting and had a dehumidifier because the plaster is literally bubbling from the wall. The AC unit did not work. There was mold everywhere in the hotel. The only nice thing is the view of the beach but it is not worth $400 a night.

Clean up this place! Filthy! loud and obnoxious and at a 300.00 per night price it should definitely be a much nicer place...

Outdated. Common areas were dirty. Room was clean and close to the beach but for over 300$ a night hardly worth it

No shampoo no conditioner, horrible cleanliness. Loud noises in morning. And kicked out with no compensation. Definitely do not recommend.

After staying here almost every year for the past 15 years, my family has enjoyed many great…read morememories. However, the condos are now more run-down, and there are a couple problems that should be addressed. First, the fact that smoking is still permitted on the balconies is ridiculous. Secondhand smoke, as we all know, is toxic and immediately harmful. The beach view is the key feature to this place, and everyone should be able to sit on the patio to enjoy it without the smell of cigarette smoke. This year I brought a floor fan to put on the patio with me, but it did not prevent the smell of smoke. There is no safe level of breathing secondhand smoke whether you are indoors or out. Smoking needs banned on the patios. The second issue is with the mildew smell of the air vents. The first two days this week, all I could smell is fresh laundry. Apparently, there are dryer sheets on the air filters, which is loaded with toxic chemicals btw. However, the rest of the week, it smelled strongly of mildew every time the AC kicked on. That could be a serious issue for those with asthma or mold allergies. Third, the kitchen could definitely use an update, specifically the scratched nonstick cooking pans, which are toxic (you knew that was coming). Those need replaced with new ceramic pans. And one last note - I find it absolutely ironic that I witnessed the maintenance man threatening a lady in the pool that he would call the health department and have her kicked out because she removed the rope that separates deep/shallow ends. Yes, call the health department, please, and ask them about all the issues I listed as well. Folks, overall this is a decent place to stay with perks like the beach view, free coffee, and an easy walk to the pool. However, be aware of the negatives that could potentially harm your well-being. We go on vacation to relax and de-stress, not come home with lung cancer. Seriously.

You could tell how much thought and effort went in to presentation, flavor and diversity. I loved the peach cream baked french toast so much I had to look up similar recipes so I can make it at home. There were always cold drinks in the mini fridge, ice in the cooler, water in a pitcher, snacks in a bowl and best of all something homemade every day. I can't decide if my favorite was the rocky road bars, or this chocolate peanut buttery rice crispy like dessert. We stayed in both the Sunrise Suite and the Starfish room because neither were available for all five days. Both are fantastic! Hot roomy showers, oh so comfy robes, soft sheets and towels, mattresses that were not too soft nor too hard, perfectly painted, and well chosen decor. The house has a covered porch on three sides so there are loungers in both the shade and in the sun by the pool. My favorite spot was the swing. The beach is a five minute walk away, not crowded at all, and made for long walks. I love to travel and try new places, but Surf Song on Tybee is a place I will look forward to returning to in the years to come. I wished we lived closer so we could visit several times a year.
