We were lucky to get one of the newly renovated condos, unit number L208, in the front of the property, near the pool. The resort offers spacious villas, townhouses, and condos ideal for couples, families, or groups, with amenities like the lazy river, outdoor pools, hot tubs, and proximity to the island's stunning beaches, grocery stores (Publix and Harris Teeter), restaurants, and shops. The nonsmoking keyless unit had a full kitchen complete with everything you might want on vacation. There were full-size appliances with kitchenware, broom, mop, and vacuum cleaner, and also a washer and dryer. The bedroom had a small closet, a flat-screen TV, a long-length mirror, a comfortable king sized bed, and a safe. The bathroom was stocked with plush towels, toilet paper, kleenex, and bar soap. The dining/living room area had a flat-screen TV with a DVD player. Yes, you read correctly, DVD player! The staff were friendly and helpful. Beautifully manicured grounds. Parking can be challenging after 10pm. Golf cart/shuttle ride to and from the beach. No housekeeping or trash dump service, so please take trash to the chute down the hall. A weekend was just not enough time to explore everything this property and Hilton Head has to offer. I would love to visit again sometime between May and October to witness sea turtle nesting and/or hatching on the beach, and enjoy the lazy river, tennis, and bike riding.

We are long time RCI members in good standing since 1989. RCI is losing business as customer service has plummeted with new owners(Hotels and Leisure). Resort selections are down at least 25% in recent years under new ownership probably due to resorts cutting out the middle man(RCI) and handling all sale in-house now. Back in December 2025, we called to bank our Sea Scape week for trade and reiterated "The Sea Scape Resort property. Normally we get a conformation e-mail but didn't notice. In March, we called back to put in our trade request and were informed that they had banked our Hilton Head Resort instead. We were sent to the transferred to Kristy in escalated case dept and were informed that she was handling the case and would find a comparable unit to put the family that snatched it up immediately from RCI bank and keep us posted. In the next 2 months, we were contacted 3 times with no news, no changes so we called Kristy back to get more details and updated. I asked her to give us our unit back now and continue looking for a comparable unit for them and she blew up at me. She said she didn't like the tone of my accusation that she isn't doing anything. She also said that she had contacted the purchasers of our unit and they know they have a great deal and refused to give it back to RCI. She also said that called are not recorded, she said that is illegal and then blamed us for probably putting in wrong unit request. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she barked, "I am a supervisor!" I asked to speak to her supervisor and she started going off on me again, "I have been doing everything and more and keeping in contact..." I asked 4 times for a supervisor or manager and finally she said she would have a boss supervisor call us back within 24 hours. It's been 4 days and still no phone call from RCI anyone?!? We will be using what we have banked and never use RCI again. We looked for other resorts that we have stayed at before and a lot of them are no longer available through RCI, FIGURES... UPDATE: I was contacted by RCI 2 days after I left this review and was asked for membership acct and owner info to review our situation which I emailed immediately. We were sent an email confirmation of our week being taken back out from RCI bank and returned to us and he also asked me to take my BAD review down. FASTFORWARD to October 6, 2026 we called ahead to Corral Sands(manages our Port O Call Villa) who confirmed our upcoming stay and gave us the confirmation number. 4 days later, after an 8 hour drive we arrived at Corral Sands only to find out that they gave our unit away shortly before we arrived to check-in at 5:30. They put us up in a COMPARABLE unit but denied responsibility saying that RCI never told them that we had been given our villa back?!? What the truth that we found out was that Corral Sands had just given our unit to the owners of villa #4 because Corral Sands was replacing the A/C unit to their unit. YES, we do know Brenda O. and her family(owners of #4 villa) because we have been owner's of our villa for 44 years and have met many of the Port O' Call owners. Silvie(front desk Mgr.) lied to us the whole time at check-in just like RCI LIED to us before check-in. PS...you'd think that an RCI representative that is their to assist would work or at least be available on the busiest check-in/check-out days of Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday but NO...Cheryl D.(Sheryl?) only works Monday thru Friday and is completely unavailable on weekends. Utterly disgusted with BOTH and will never use or recommend RCI again and as far as Corral Sands Resort, we are extremely disappointed and will update this post if needed.

We arrived at 1pm and walked up to the front desk to see if we could possibly check in earlier (our check in time said 3pm on our itinerary) where the front desk lady looked so annoyed from the start. She informed us that our room is not ready and that it will be ready by 4pm (although i had an email where it said 3pm). She took my phone number n said she would call when room was ready. We went to the pier, light house, the battery to kill time. Come 3pm still there was no phone call but we decided to come to the front desk n wait there in the air conditioned room. When we got to the front desk i asked again if our room was ready n it was (but why in the world she has not called us if the room was ready ?!) 2. Even when checking out the staff at the front desk were so annoyed. We didn't say anything obviously, but if you hate your job that much then just quit n find something else!!!! They truly cared about our experience, worked to make sure we were happy. The location itself was great. Steps from the beach, with gated access to covered parking and two assigned parking places. The condo was older but well-maintained and furnished. Bedrooms were large and comfortable. There was a spacious open living area with a galley kitchen and bar, a separate dining area, and a wrap-around covered balcony. We feel like we made friends with Mermaid Cottages and look forward to seeing them again soon!

We wore our shoes in the room the whole time instead. Aside from that, the sink was smaller than an airplane bathroom, so washing my face was nearly impossible. I also didn't like that there wasn't a deadbolt or other way to lock the room door from the inside.
