Fantastic hidden gem in a historical building. What's lovely hotel that doesn't look like a hotel…read more 7-10mins walked from the train or tram stop. Warm, friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room with all the amenities needed. Restaurant is down in the basement (abit hard to find but eventually found it). There is a pool right next to the reception area so it was cool to see upon entering or checking in/out. It's a walking distance to the neighborhood street that fills with stores, markets, shops, restaurants and bakeries. Just a lovely hotel in a lovely neighborhood and with great staff.

Hotel Odenburger.....Historic Elegance Meets Thoughtful Hospitality in Berlin…read more Hotel Odenburger is a true hidden gem.....a seamless blend of old-world charm and modern design tucked inside one of Berlin's oldest buildings. Formerly a public bathhouse, it has been beautifully restored and reimagined as a five-star boutique hotel. The result is visually stunning and atmospherically rich, with architectural details that feel both historic and artistic. The standout feature is the optical illusion pool, which creates a peaceful, dreamlike space at the heart of the hotel. During our stay, it served as a backdrop for private events, adding a vibrant and stylish energy to the property. We stayed in a very special room that's only available through Airbnb.... a private attic space designed for two. It was a split-level loft with steep stairs, exposed beams, and a skylight-filled ceiling. It's not child-friendly due to the stair design, but it's perfect for couples or solo travelers looking for something unique and full of character. This space felt like a well-kept secret above the city. The hotel does not have air conditioning, which is clearly stated in advance. However, our room had multiple fans and was well-ventilated, making our summer stay perfectly manageable. Where Hotel Odenburger really shines is in its staff. Every interaction was warm, helpful, and professional: Bernice took the time to help us book clubs that suited my daughter's taste.... trendy, stylish, and age-appropriate. Gina kindly helped me resolve a train booking issue that had me stressed and confused. The night shift receptionist (whose name I didn't catch) went out of his way to help me add an extra night to our stay with ease and kindness. Their eco-conscious policy is a nice bonus: if you choose to skip housekeeping for a day, you're rewarded with a free drink (beer or champagne) or access to the pool.....a thoughtful touch that rewards sustainability. The paid breakfast was beautiful and fresh, served in a bright, minimalist dining area. The gym and shared spaces were also impressive....clean, well-designed, and never overcrowded. The attic Airbnb room is unforgettable......but not suitable for young kids or anyone with mobility issues. Trust the staff..... they really go above and beyond to make your stay smooth and memorable. Hotel Odenburger offers more than just a place to sleep....it offers a slice of Berlin's layered history wrapped in comfort, creativity, and personalized service. Whether you're an architecture enthusiast, a design lover, or a traveler seeking something truly different, this place delivers. We'll absolutely be back.!!!!!!!

I had low expectations regarding the rooms and that was a good thing, because my single room on 4th floor was simple. It had a desk and a chair in a rather sterile room that gave me a hostel feeling. The wall to wall carpet did not smell right either.. Other than the carpet, room was clean. So, why such a good rating then? Well, breakfast was nice, view from room was nice, it was cheap and located exactly where I needed. In other words, this place is awesome if you have not planned to stay much in the room. It's a short trip, one stop or 20 minutes walk to Mauer Park and Oderberger strasse or Kollwitzstr. Lots of lcoal stores nearby as well as pubs. So, even though my room was simple, everything else was splendid.

GIven the urban setting, it might not be for the unadventurous - the night entrance to the hotel is inside a very dimly lit garden. However, all other gates being locked and the restaurant next to the open gate makes for a very safe walk into the hotel. The single room I was assigned was very small, and had only European plugs. The LED TV did not have USB ports. There is no ventilation in the room save for the exhaust fan of the bathroom. However, even very close to summer the room was kept comfortable by opening the windows that look down into the garden and night entry. I generally recommend this hotel to folks looking for a decent rate, while not expecting very luxurious surroundings.

It really does not even compare to the hostel I stayed at in Amsterdam. Cons: -The rooms are so small! We were in each other's space. - the washer and dryer are terrible. We could not even get our clothes dry even after drying them twice in the dryer. So we literally had to hang all our clothes all throughout our whole room. Mind you, our room is so small. So we were left with way less space now that we hung out clothes in every nook of the room. I highly suggest going to a separate laundry institution nearby. - NO AIR CONDITIONER.... The rooms are very hot during the day. - breakfast in the cafe is pricy for the amount of food you get and the food quality you receive. Pros: -Clean bathroom - surprisingly bigger bathroom than you would think when you look at the room itself. - great lounge and common space - live DJ on Fridays

A very positive aspect: You do not need any bedsheets and they are already included in the price. You even don't need to take it off when leaving - many higher priced hostels demand that from you. Maybe they do it because of the brand's policy... Actually Generator is an upper-level priced hostel chain with usually very stylish design. I once met a hostel representative from the headquarters and she said, they are just offering the beds in this hostel so cheap because the building is so old. The building IS really old, she is so right. If you're been to another Generator (like me) and then get to this one, it might be a shock. If not and you paid really few money for the room, you might be astonished what you get for that low price.
