We just checked in today and I can't say I am thrilled. To be clear there is no air conditioning. The tv in the room is the size of an aging computer monitor. I booked a King sized bed, even sent an email to confirm it. I am not a small fellow, 250lbs. My wife is smaller but with us both on it at the same time it is not much space. This is a "full sized bed" in American terms. I ask the front counter about this and they advised me in Germany "King sized" just means one bed not two twins. None of the other two hotels I stayed at in Germany used this cultural norm I was unaware of. Also the bathroom is the size of a coat closet. When I stand in the shower my shoulders are an inch from the walls. The safe in the room was locked when we arrived, I will try and address this tomorrow. The neighborhood is decent, but pretty far from the city center or east side with most things I want to do. (I will own that one but it can be hard to tell when you don't know a city) When I discussed the bed issue the clerk did offer me a free bowl of fruit. So I may be sleeping on the floor but I will have an abundance of apples when I do it. If you are looking for a throwback 80s experience maybe this is for you. However do not be mislead that this hotel is anything close to the accommodations of an average Best Western. Also the elevator holds 4 people max, but that is being extremely generous
Update: We were moved on day two to a better room with a bed we could both fit on
