We had a lovely 4 night stay here…read more I was well rested after the train ride from Amsterdam. We hopped on a bus and stopped at the Franklinstr stop which happens to only be a block away from the hotel. Lana was at the front desk to check us in. She was super nice and personable. Our room was quite spacious. There was a safe in the closet which is the only thing we need so we had a spot to put our important stuff. The closet was a spacious enough for both of us. I like the seating spot by the coat rack where you can store shoes. This place is modern and clean. The drying rack in the bathroom was a huge plus. The beds were comfortable and because of the rooms facing each other vs facing the street, the noise was never too loud. We only opted for their breakfast one time. The selection was nice and there was something for everyone. I took 1 star away because there were two incidents that had us confused. We came back one day to find a pillowcase on one of the nightstands. Another day, our beds weren't made. It was the day that we were given a drink token which we of course redeemed. I'm going to echo what was previously mentioned about this place being in a bad area. It's in a great area. The closest bus stop is less than 5 mins walk. The other one is only a couple more minutes the other way. To be honest, I preferred this area over the city center. We always got a good nights sleep since there was no traffic noise waking us up.

My Hot New Find for a good hotel in Berlin!! I loved this place because it was reasonably…read morepriced, a nice walk to the U or S-bahn subways, 2 blocks from the bus and you don't really need to drive. In the Charlottenberg section of Berlin, this hotel offers a full German breakfast (see pix), a nice bed, good modern surroundings, clean, good helpful workers. What's there not to love? The hotel was clean everywhere you looked. Rooms are smaller by American standards, normal by Euro and Asian standards. There's a full bar next to reception where you can order drinks, espresso and coffee (cheap coffees). When Yelpers mentioned this hotel is not in a good location I was thinking the area would be unsafe. What Yelpers actually meant was it's not in the center of Berlin. The hotel is on a street with 4 car dealerships and a University. Then you walk a few minutes for public transportation (I love walking). Well I know not to stay in the City Center of any town because: I don't like being around tourists, I don't like American hotels in foreign countries (super expensive), and I like local flava. A similar hotel in the touristy part of Berlin would have costed €200- €400 a night. I have friends who picked typical and boring American hotels in the center of Berlin and wanted to leave their hotels when they saw mine. I'd rather spend that money dining and wining. And I did. Ha! Pat on the back for this find William! Tip: Love the bathrooms with heated towel racks (see website photos), they warm the entire bathroom, a bonus when it's 25 and snowing outside. The Grohe soothing showerhead was another bonus. Visits: 1 Definitely my new home base when I return. Danke schön Novum Style DAS Berlin.

The nights were completely quiet and dark, so sleep was wonderful. Taking away from the excellent one week experience knocking rating down from a five star to a 2 or 3 star hotel were due to complete failure to fix nor explain why one elevator to the top floor remained out of service, and also disappointing and boring often oversalted meals with bland overcooked tasteless lukewarm vegetables and lack of coffee at any meal but breakfast, same old pastries every morning and an unfriendly restaurant hostess. The waiters were all outstanding. I regret that the cost of meals was included in our week's stay. Finally, the adjacent bar was excellent. Downstairs on ground floor is a nice mall with huge grocery store. An unexpected perk was a coupon for a drink at the bar if one requests that hotel room not be cleaned for two consecutive days. However the free beverage is quite small....a friend ordered a wine and it was poured....when she presented the free beverage coupon, the server took her glass back and poured a moderate amount of wine back into the serving container! Now that is really tacky!!!! I would not want to stay at this hotel again. Do not strongly recommend MOA Mercure.

The room was clean, bathroom was well stocked, and it fit 3 people comfortably. In the morning we called for a taxi and it took a few minutes to arrive. I booked a King sized bed, even sent an email to confirm it. I am not a small fellow, 250lbs. My wife is smaller but with us both on it at the same time it is not much space. This is a "full sized bed" in American terms. I ask the front counter about this and they advised me in Germany "King sized" just means one bed not two twins. None of the other two hotels I stayed at in Germany used this cultural norm I was unaware of. Also the bathroom is the size of a coat closet. When I stand in the shower my shoulders are an inch from the walls. The safe in the room was locked when we arrived, I will try and address this tomorrow. The neighborhood is decent, but pretty far from the city center or east side with most things I want to do. (I will own that one but it can be hard to tell when you don't know a city) When I discussed the bed issue the clerk did offer me a free bowl of fruit. So I may be sleeping on the floor but I will have an abundance of apples when I do it. If you are looking for a throwback 80s experience maybe this is for you. However do not be mislead that this hotel is anything close to the accommodations of an average Best Western. Also the elevator holds 4 people max, but that is being extremely generous Update: We were moved on day two to a better room with a bed we could both fit on Final update, the staff got us moved to a much better room where we could get a good night sleep after a fun day in Berlin.

Friendly staff and very quiet rooms at least towards the back -- I could even open my windows at night. The breakfast is Ok. The rooms are clean, but come in very varying size from tiny to huge. This is probably due to the old building the hotel is in. If you like old buildings and want to stay in a central place at a budget price, you are right here.

The night receptionist, Yannick, kindly talked to me for nearly four hours (!) since I could not sleep due to jet lag. All staff can speak German, French, and at least a little English, which is impressive. Convenient location. Several nice nearby eateries, both cheap and upscale, including the French restaurant that is in the hotel itself. The Centre Francais de Berlin is connected to the hotel and offers very nice conference rooms, also at a reasonable rate. U-bahn is very close. My wife and I loved the breakfast. Maybe a breakfast of this quality is common in German hotels, but not in "den Vereinigten Staaten" (the US), so we were quite impressed and enjoyed eating there every morning. Our room was clean and comfortable and included a fridge stocked with some nice (non-complimentary) drinks. No microwave or iron, unfortunately.

Gunstige preise pro nacht fur ein doppelzimmer mit duche…read more The location is outside the central part of Berlin but right next to a U-bahn station, so it is convenient to get everywhere. It is only a couple U-bahn stops and a bus ride away to the airport. Use the "Liverpooler Str./Muellerstr." U-bahn exit at the Rehberge stop for the most convenience, then head north one block. Sadly, the in-room wi-fi went kaputt during my stay here and wasn't able to be repaired in the last couple days of my stay. The uber-freundlich staff (who are trilingual if not more!) helped me use the wifi on the first floor. They have 24/7 front desk service. There is only 1 room key, so if you and your roommate may be coming and going at different times, they offer to keep your room key at the front desk and open the door for whichever of you returns first. The door is the weirdest hotel door I've ever had to open. The hotel staff again came to the rescue here. Still, it took a couple days for me to become a pro at it. You have to PULL the knob towards you after you hear the click and as you are turning.
