View of the Campanile (Giotto's Tower) and Duomo

The best-kept secret no more. Hotel Torre Guelfa has one of the best panoramic views of Firenze. But you have to be in shape to climb these narrow and seem to be never-ending stairs. Once you get to the top, there is a very cramped bar-like area where you can order drinks and enjoy the breathtaking view of the city. Make sure to go there for the spectacular night view.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The location is close to everything, and the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Our room was a decent size and unique. Very clean, quiet and warm. Very old world feeling! The view from the top is amazing, and the formal living room is a beautiful place to relax. Breakfast was wonderful. The building is very old and has an amazing story behind it! Would stay here again if we ever find our way back in Italy!

The absolute best choice I could of ever made! Wonderful staff! Especially the guys who tend the small bar at the top of the tower... I swear I had 30 questions about Florence for one of them and he patiently answered every single one! The living room in the 3rd floor was a gorgeous place to hang out. Climbing the tower was a thrill for the whole family and once you're up there you realize this is the best view! You are literally right in the center of everything! We had a lovely 2 room suite. Couldn't of asked for better! Oh, and the owner of the hotel gives leaves you a complimentary copy of his book which is a best seller over there. Nice personal touch... We left with a Italian and a English version.

Most amazing view!! This is where my husband proposed, will always love this hotel. Can't wait to go back one day

Location is good- but the staff was extremely rude. There are much better places to stay in Florence.

A warm and cosy place to call home during your stay in Florence. This apartment sleeps up to four…read morepeople. It is a one bedroom apartment with a queen sized bed and a pull-out couch that is very comfortable for kids or another couple. All of the furniture is new and tasteful (mostly from IKEA). There is a spacious kitchen, complete with all the essential gear for cooking or baking. There is also a toaster, Italian Moka Pot (Espresso), Teapot, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, oven and of course many (new) plates , bowls, utensils, wine glasses etc. The bathroom is clean and bright which includes sink, toilet and shower. One of the nicest features of the apartment is the small intimate terrace that seats two people and is fantastic for a romantic morning coffee or having a glass of wine at sunset . The apartment gets its' name "tra i tetti" or "among the rooftops" from the beautiful view of the Italian terra-cotta rooftops. The apartment is on the top floor so the view is quite nice. That being said, those with knee problems or who are not able to do stairs, this apartment may be problematic because the apartment is on the top floor of a building with no elevator. If you are here for the first time, the location of the apartment couldn't be more perfect. It's only 5 minutes from the central train station and easy to walk to. Plus you are right in the center of Florence! Being on the top floor there is very little noise once the windows are closed. There are no trash bins on this street so you won't be bothered by the noisy garbage collectors that come early in the morning. The apartment has all your basic needs ready upon check-in. All linen and towels are provided, as well as your basic condiments for cooking like oil, salt, sugar, coffee, tea and soap for dishes and laundry. Check in/out times are often flexible as well. Great place to call home for first time visitors or seasoned travelers of this beautiful city.

Along the way, my train had to stop for two hours, while an accident on the tracks ahead was investigated. I stayed in touch with the people at La Contessina, as I learned more about how much of a delay this was going to cause. The people I texted with at La Contessina were polite, and as flexible as they could be. When I was able to arrive, at around midnight, I was overjoyed that there was somebody there who was able to help me get into my room. Also delighted that the room was beautiful! The bed was comfortable, and the ambiance of the room was extraordinary. My only regret was that I had to leave early in the morning, so I didn't have the opportunity to fully experience this venue. I highly recommend Residence La Contessina. I am grateful to those who worked with me to make my experience work.

Unfortunately the place we previously booked was AWFUL, we walked in and it smelled musty, then moldy and sure enough black mold in our room! We ran and THANK THE HEAVENS there was an available apartment at La Contessina! The gentleman at the front desk at the Residence La Contessina was charming and helpful. He showed us the apartment and I was beyond happy. A BEAUTIFUL patio, the apartment is spacious, clean, full kitchen, bathroom, dining, and upstairs loft! I LOVE IT HERE!! Annnddd there is an amazing restaurant connected to the Residence. La Sosta delle Contesse is DELICIOUS! Florence is looking very good now
