We got here on the weekend before Thanksgiving . Hotel was empty and service was great . Maybe that's the reason we had no complaints that other people seem to have . It used to be "sleep Inn" but got into new management . Got completely new face lift and looks exactly as it shows on Hotels website. Cool brights colors themed after their house football team. Makes this place special :) They even have Keurig coffee machines in the rooms with Starbucks coffee capsules. And there are 2 normal mugs for your morning coffee in your room . Love this personal touch . Breakfast was more than I expected. Small but enough of choices . For the room price of $89.00 it's a steal. Definitely worth staying here read more

2 stars because the front desk staff was so friendly And the rate was good. Lots of cons...Not sure if they offer daily maid service or just skipped our room. Right next to the train tracks and all of the walls are paper thin so you hear everything. Someone was knocking on a door near mine and it sounded like it was my door. The rooms are really small and not in the best condition (a shelf over the toilet was falling down so wasn't usable. The only working outlet was next to the sink so we had to take turns charging...we had a room with 2 queen beds and both were pushed up against the wall. The fan in the very tiny bathroom was soooo loud! The AC was really loud too but that was a bit of a plus because it created a bit of white noise to drown out the noise from other rooms. Only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper and we had to go to the front desk for an extra roll. I lifted up the sheet to check for signs of bed bugs and really (really) wish I hadn't because the mattress was pretty nasty and stained. The comforter s on the beds have definitely seen better days. Throw it into rewind and enjoy the groovy decor, one of their BEST features. First impressions are most important in my opinion....upon check-in we were put into a room that wasn't cleaned so we had to wait on another room (not cool). Not a whole lot of space, especially on either side of the beds close to the walls - a small shelf would be a nice addition for any personables (water, phone, etc). Staff was friendly, that's a plus. Breakfast was probably one of the worst hotel meals I've had, and we stay at a lot of hotels! (Hiltons rock.) Not on the list of revisits, unfortunately. read more

What a fantastic experience! This hotel, the staff, the buffet, the amenities, the customer service!! This place delivered on all accounts! Omg, I've stayed at Hilton's on one end of the spectrum to lesser known Hotels and this one by far scored a perfect rating. Sometimes the pictures online are deceiving, but not these. The beds were top quality, clean with goose down bedding . The shower offered a rain forest spray inside an oval shaped shower. The rooms have their own fridge, and microwave which are typical, but the keurig machine was an excellent touch. The food: scrambled eggs were hot, perfect; not runny or dried out. They offered bacon, sausage patties, sausage gravy, biscuits, a pancake machine that makes pancakes light and fluffy, and even offered 5 kinds of syrup, sugar free as well! Fresh fruit, a variety of cold cereals as well as a variety of oatmeal's, toast, bagels, an assortment of butter, cream cheese, etc. Starbucks coffee, muffins, coffee cake, yogurt, breakfast juices. Dining room was clean and inviting with colorful leather chairs. The only snag to our visit was MY FAULT. I booked the wrong night. No problem. The staff walked me through the process. We came into town as tourists on our way to Atlanta. We thought there would be no trouble getting into our usual Hampton Inn or Comfort Suites. Unfortunately, it is Orientation weekend for the students, so most hotels were full, or double their usual price. We got a room at the Tillman and were very happy with it. $80 per night, with microwave and fridge and Kerrigan coffee maker. Nice linens and cookies in the lobby. On a road with tons of restaurants. The Hampton Inn was $150 plus tax. Would definitely stay here again. read more

Would have been a 5. This morning while we were sleeping, and while breakfast was open, the maid entered our room. Apparently she said she knocked. She thought it was funny, and she and the desk clerk giggled and never apologized. Concern, because the dining room was full, and she could be stealing. No one really was concerned. Never again. An apology would have gone a long way. read more

The staff here are excellent. The bed we slept in was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever laid on. If I could take it home with me, I would. The rooms have a modern look, and I really like that they have a minifridge and microwave. read more

The rooms are clean and well-decorated (the hotel is Clemson-themed, but not in a super obnoxious way). Our beds were extremely comfortable and everyone had a good night's sleep, despite being able to hear a lot of traffic noises in the night. Probably the biggest issue we had with our stay was that the walls seemed very thin. We were able to hear quite a lot of noise from the hallway and from the neighboring rooms, and who knows what other people were able to hear coming from our room. Overall, this was a nice hotel and I would stay here again, but it wasn't a flawless stay. read more

BEWARE!!! This hotel overcharged several people in the wedding party that stayed there, including myself. They also added a $150 cleaning fee which was not listed anywhere in there hotel policies or terms and conditions online or at check in. The charge is also more than the room cost itself. If a "stain" is removable, hotels are not allowed to charge the quest. Only if it is damage that has to be replaced. Which was not the case here. The manager was not helpful and told me to dispute the charge with my credit card company and refused to remove the fee. read more

Train runs by at 3 in the morning. Breakfast is inedible, and WiFi is waaaayyyyyyy slow if it works at all. My shower had only one setting which was "peel your skin off". All of that being said, I accept that this is a "boutique hotel" but good lord please give your customers the best they can have, otherwise why open a business? This place is trash and if/when ever this place gets dozed then I will pay to be there. (No more than 10$ since that's what the room rate should be) This is on my list of worst places to stay. No pool yet they charge the same rate as the hotel next to them that has a pool. No extras with this hotel. It was clean though.

My family and I booked rooms here, and when we walked into our rooms, both beds in one room were not made and the toilet was stopped up. The rooms looked and felt dirty and musky. They moved us into different rooms and luckily the beds were at least made. It still felt gross, and there was still trash in the trashcans that were not emptied from the guests before us. We ended up buying our own Clorox wipes and disinfecting sprays to clean the rooms ourselves so it'd be tolerable for the two nights we were going to stay there. If it weren't for the very friendly and helpful guys working at the front desk, this place would only get 1 star. I will never stay here again, which is a shame because it's in a great location to Clemson! read more

Would not stay here again, and would not recommend this hotel to a friend. Great location, nice renovation, however there is a clear issue with the plumbing in the rooms, which results in an extremely musty/moldy odor in the rooms. I was with a group of friends, we had three rooms in different parts/floors of the hotel, and all experienced the same issues. Closing yourself in the bathroom to shower was an uncomfortable experience, since the issue stemmed from the shower/sink drains, and the hot water/steam made it that much worse. Even without using the drains, the smell lingered - it was the first thing we noticed as soon as we walked into the room, with a stronger odor near the bathroom/sink. I asked twice about this - the first time the employee at the front desk told he had never heard of this issue and would pass along my message to the manager. The second time, the person I spoke with explained that it was due to the recent construction and debris remaining in the J pipes, the way the drainage systems were setup. He said he would send someone up with Drain-O. This did not solve the problem. read more

The noise levels in this building are ridiculous, if you are paying $150/night (on a Tuesday) for a hotel room you should be able to sleep without hearing footsteps above you. All night I could hear when the person above me was going to the bathroom, using the microwave and even coughing. What a waste of money! Also, in my experience the bathroom spelled like a sour locker room and although there are only 4 cars in the parking lot at 6:15pm the front desk tells me they are completely booked......really?! I'm not an idiot. They just say sorry there is nothing I can do. What kind of service is that?! BAD SERVICE! Not a good hotel experience, the only reason I gave 1 star is for the mini fridge and microwave. If you want any chance of sleeping either ask to be on the top floor or wear noise cancelling headphones, all of which is unacceptable for a hotel in my opinion. read more

Called to make a reservation, the woman that answered said her name was Kathy but she didnt speak plain english. upon not being able to understand a simple requests for rates, her attitude adjusted and she became very rude. I asked to speak to a manager and she stated that she was the manager. Clean, but a boutique hotel it is not. It's adequate and affordable when it's not a football weekend. And a double room iis $125 per night on non-football weekends. We had no maid service the first day which was annoying because we left the room by 10.30. At $395 per night during a football game, the hotel should be ashamed of itself, but I guess Tiger fans are willing to pay that much. (That comes to four shares of Proctor and Gamble stock) The hotel has a pitiful fitness center, but there is a modest free breakfast. While we were at hotel, guests included construction workers who propped the back door open with huge stones. Not very safe, I'dsay. The beds were comfortable but this hotel will wear down fast because the renovation definitely cut corners with the plastic bathtubs. The front desk person could be seen folding towels. The owner definitely cuts costs with labor! read more
