    Victorian Suite

Wonderful atmosphere. Beautiful antique decor. Friendly service. Clean. Great food.

It was as we expected...mediocre. It was a typical NE WI supper club. Staff was friendly but forgetful.

ROAST DUCK WITH DOOR COUNTY CHERRIES. DELICIOUS

Excellent food. Everything is homemade from the soup and salad bar to the entrees. Everything is always delicious and they got it down as far as service too! Large bar area available too. This place is a winner! Friday fish and shrimp buffet. Entrees come with choice of potato or wild rice

The dinners also included soup and salad bar with nice choices: patte', two different cheese spreads, fresh salad and fixings, potato salad, etc.

I met the owner Bob at check-in and he couldn't have been friendlier. My room was clean with plenty of hot water and towels. The WiFi and cable worked very well. My room had a small fridge and a microwave. After dinner I sat on their deck and watched the sun set with a glass of bourbon. The next morning I had the included breakfast which was delicious. Waffles, eggs, sausage patties, donuts and Door County coffee. There were many other options for breakfast as well. WOW If you are like me and pass through Algoma on your way to Door County, stop and check out this nice little town and Scenic Shore Inn.

A rare mom n pop motel that is clean and maintained. Rooms are ready by 1:00 p.m. and there is a cold breakfast in the office. By cold I just mean they aren't able to have waffle irons and hot food due to space and state regulations the owners quickly told me, although I didn't ask. There is a small table and two chairs outside of every room to sit and enjoy the view and the cool fresh air off the lake. There are no negatives from the owners but just be aware located on a state highway it's very noisy late into the night with trucks and motorcycles racing and many cars that don't seem to have mufflers in the area, an oddity I suppose.

FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME…read more My family and I travel often, and never have we been treated with such abysmal customer service than we have at Algoma Beach Motel. We are respectful of shared spaces, clean up after ourselves, and aren't excessively active. We checked in around 4pm, got to our room, and immediately spent time at the beach. We stopped back at our room for about 10 minutes to change before dinner. We got back to the motel to settle in at around 8-830pm, and started to unpack our things and get ready to play a card game. Around 9pm, we received a call from the front desk stating that the downstairs folks complained that it sounds like "elephants" up here and we need to keep it down. We were just unpacking our things, nothing wild, but I answered with enthusiasm that I would let my kids and partner know to keep the noise down. 5 minutes later, the complainant from downstairs showed up at our door in anger, in front of our children, and wouldn't leave. He shoved his foot in the door so I couldn't shut it, and only backed away when my partner stepped up to the door. We thought that would be the end of it, but the hotel attempted to call again and left us a voicemail saying that we were now required to move rooms to the bottom floor. We specifically chose a second floor room for safety, as the bottom floor rooms have two doors that open directly to the outside, and I suggested that the people below us could move instead, but I was told "don't you try and argue with me, you either move rooms or check out tomorrow." We secured much more family-friendly lodging down the road.

Breakfast same as 1950's, really no breakfast as most Americans would like. No it is not a chain of hotels with irons, coffee pots, and all the amenities. Your not charged for them either. UNINHABITABLE: Forced to flee after 1 night due to chemical fumes; Hotel kept full 3-night charge…read moredespite rebooking the room. I was forced to check out after one night because the room was uninhabitable due to severe health hazards. Upon entry, the room reeked of strong, unknown chemical fumes. We attempted to ventilate, but were forced to close the windows immediately due to loud, disruptive guests and heavy marijuana smoke drifting in from across the street. The chemical smell did not dissipate; instead, the fumes triggered a severe asthma attack and heart palpitations within hours. The conditions were so dangerous that I had no choice but to check out the next morning and drive home to ensure my safety. Crucially, this was a holiday weekend. The hotel undoubtedly rebooked this room immediately after we left, suffering zero financial loss. Yet, they refused to refund the remaining two nights and kept the full $750 charge. The Snug Harbor Inn breached the basic warranty of habitability by providing a room with unknown chemical hazards that caused an immediate medical reaction. Keeping the full payment for a room I could not use, while they re-rented it to someone else, is unjust enrichment and a clear disregard for guest safety. Do not book here; the management prioritizes profit over health.
