1st time visiting Mexico City, which is one of the great cities of the world ,one of the hardest things to decide when you are booking your trip is what hotel your going to stay at.So much uncertainty with that decision, what neighborhood should we stay in,how much do we even want to spend on lodging considering beyond sleeping I want to spend as little time as possible in the hotel when I'm on vacation.Well after much research, checking blogs, checking Reddit, checking Yelp, even asking ChatGPT's opinion,we finally decided to stay at Hotel Stanza located in the tourist friendly neighborhood of Roma Norte.
This hotel was relatively priced-basically running around $125-150 a night thru Expedia, which considering the trendy neighborhood this hotel was located,I felt was a pretty fair price.
When we 1st checked in I was ready to cancel because the room had this pungent smell, almost like a room had been "over-cleaned " if that's possible, but the clever wifey was able to get rid of that smell very fast after opening a window a running the shower a bit-somehow that worked and we never encountered that smell again. The room themselves were solid-had 2 queens, decent tv situation, smallish bathroom but great water pressure from the showers, rooms also come with a safe.
Hotel has a gym,it's kind small but it's enough to get the job done.Hotel also offers free internet in the lobby for all hotel guests.
The best thing about this hotel though for sure is the location.Right next door is the biggest dog park in the city,so I was told,so every time I walked outside of the hotel there were just waves and waves of cute little doggies everywhere-I liked that. The neighborhood is so wonderful,so many bars and restaurants and cafes in the neighboring area-I love the location. If shopping is your thing, there are many shopping areas in the area to shop to your hearts content.Bottom line of all bottom lines though is this-this hotel is located in a spot in the city that you always feel safe-walking out at 8am or 12 am no matter-it always feels safe.
In closing,I would say that I was very pleased with this choice as the home base for our vacation to Mexico City-I would recommend it for anyone looking to go to Mexico City and looking for a value based hotel that gets the job done. read more
